Rather than going into a bidding war with the Hawks for Hale, who I think could add something to our structue but I still see an element of risk and lack of ability to ally forward pressure, we should be chasing this guy who suits our age profile and much more of a sure thing.

This guy would be the ideal forward/ruck and at his age could still improve.

I just don't understand why we are not going hard here. It would take at least our pick 12, perhaps that is a no go zone for our club but a chance to add a player of his ability that is proven who could give upto 10 years is worth it.

He may also be on a typical lion back ended deal but we would have the room.

I really think he is the right player for us and although he has said he will be happy to stay, he has not categorically ruled out a move. That door is ajar and we should be trying to open it.

Sounds like the door might be closed on Clark. If it's even slightly ajar, I'd be asking Brisbane what would get the deal across the line.

No need to do anything silly, but negotiate with an open mind.

That's what TH has previously stated during the season. I'm sure all options would have been explored in the big man department on the first day of trade; the "feelers" would have been put out then. Like I stated earlier in another thread, if Brisbane lose Clark, Voss should be shot. He should stay at Brisbane.

Maybe the Lions were the team inquiring about Watts & Trengove, in response to our desire for Clark?

Put simply, it would take a hell of a lot to pry Clark away from the Lions.

What is going on at Brisbane its a real mess with so many defections.
