B&F, Most Improved, Best First Year Player

B&F - raffle between Green, Jamar & Davey. Surprised at the lack of love for Davey, still played 20 games.

Most Improved - Frawley or Jamar. Frawley's year was a real step up, particularly the attacking part of his game, 2009 was solid but 2010 was still a huge improvement. Jamar was perhaps our most important player this year, gone from being inconsistent and injury prone to a 22 game player and B&F contender. Dunn's second half of the year has been outstanding but I think coming off a significantly lower base clouds people's judgement here and we also forget how significant Spud and Russian's improvement was, its become their accepted standard after doing it for 22 weeks in succession.

Best First Year Player - Scully, easily. Geez his 4th Qtrs are something special for a kid.

B&F : Frawley. I reckon junior would of won if he had of stayed fit. Was first class in almost all games he played in.

1. Frawley

2. Green

3. Junior

4. Jamar

5. Scully

First year: Scully

Most improved : Colin Garland. Frawley and Jamar were good last year too. They just stood out more this year when the team was going better. Garland prob was too, but for me, he stood out as the most improved.

So is this tonight?

I thought that it was after the Grand Final?

Matt Burgan twittered "Who will win the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy tonight? Hmm ... stay tuned!"

Is anyone here going? Some updates throughout the night would be great

BFY: Scully

BF: Green

MI: Dunn

Jamar made the quantum leap in 2009 IMO, not 2010, so no most improved for me. Dunn's transition has been the most marked and the most surprising to me, I had him as a certain scratching at the start of the year.

Seconded and if anyone had told me that he would replace Bate as a key forward -I would have told them they were on drugs or dreamin. Also picked the same winners as stated above.

Keith 'Bluey' Truscott - Best & Fairest - Brad Green

Sid Anderson - 2nd Best & Fairest - James Frawley

Ron Barassi Snr - 3rd Best & Fairest - Mark Jamar

Ivor Warne-Smith - 4th Best & Fairest - Aaron Davey

Dick Taylor - 5th Best & Fairest - Cameron Bruce

Norm Smith - Coaches Award - Nathan Jones

Ron Barassi Jnr - Leadership Award - Brad Green

Harold Ball - Best First Year Player - Tom Scully

Ian Ridley - Club Ambassador - Brent Moloney

Picked Jones for Coach's award as I felt he could potentially see the writing on the wall playing the role he has, then either through putting his hand up or being asked by the FD, became more of a tagger and was asked to play on some tough opponents, most times being able to walk off with his head held high.

Will take nearest to the pin thanks guys!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
