wow - considering we have alot of good players that have been out for most of the season or even a few months we have done really well this year.

if all thoughs players are ready to go next year and we dont have any serious injuries this team is going to be bloody great!!!!

That is a seriously incredible injury list right there... :/

Hope Moloney can at least get up for the Port clash. We need him in the middle! He tweeted today that his calf "feels great!!". Fingers crossed.

I would hope that his calf was feeling great considering it was supposed to be a quad injury keeping him out....

Sorry... I meant quad not calf.

Depressing injury list.

Such a shame that Grimes' season is interupted yet again by injuries, and just when he was starting to get busy in the midfield.

Injury list looks huge but we really only have 4 of our best 22 out for this week - one of which hasn't been seen since round 6.

If Moloney plays we only have 3 missing.

This has been our best injury run since 2006. We have managed to field the majority of our best 22 each week. Most of the players on the list during the year have either been your kids in Tapscott, Gysberts and Gawn or players that are not up to it like Meeson, Hughes and Martin.

Interesting to compare the number of players that are out for the "Season" at each club.

Collingwood 1

Feemantle 1

Hawthorn 1

Bulldogs 2

Sydney 2

St. Kilda 3

Geelong 3

Kangaroos 6

West Coast 7

Adelaide 8

Port 8

Brisbane 9

Essendon 9

Demons 9

IMO You could form a view that the lower the number of serious injuries the higher you are on the ladder!

It does also depend on how long your 'season' is.....

Indeed. If we were finishing top 4 that list would look better (although not much better).

I have looked at it again Hightower and I struggling to find one player who would not be on it.

Who do you think is out to pasture and would not be if we were playing finals?

Sydney are really amazing. For years they have had such a settled team, very few injuries. Yet they play such a taxing game.

Must have some miracle workers in the medical dept.

I certainly would have most out to pasture. Hence I stated "not much better". But I would have Grimes as one player who I would hope might have come up within the finals, even if it were unlikely after being out so long. So I wouldn't have "season" next to his name if that were the case. But it is all a fluffy hypothetical in finishing top 4 anyway. Besides I don't even know the true magnitude of his current injury.

Even though our injury list has appeared long through the year, i think we have been remarkably lucky with injuries this season.

For most of the year we have had our best 22 play, and our injuries have mostly been our very young players (Tapscott, Blease, Gawn, Gysberts) or our rookie list players. Jamar, Green, Moloney (until recently), Jones, Frawley, Rivers, Garland, Bruce etc have all played almost every game. Even

To be competitive every team needs their best players out there each and every week, especially the players in important positions. I'm a little scared that we'll have another dip next season if guys like Green, Jamar and Bruce, who have all had the season's of their life, have injury interrupted years.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
