After watching Jordie punch the Shi'ite outta a speed ball on The nude nut's Twitter I was wondering has the little period of success aligned itself with us moving into the new training facilities at AAMI.

I am not sure the date of the move I think it was around end of June.

Anyway since then our results were

Respectable loss to the saints

Smashed the dongers for three quarters

Had a bad start and almost ran over the dockers

Smashed the swannies

Won on the road to the bears

So in the 5-7 week they have been in AAMI there has been a steady growth in performance.

There are loads of other factors that could affect this analysis such as fixture etc which are not related. Also we have been nearly injury free during that period which might associate with better recovery facilities.

Anyway, Since I have a warm belly since we are back in the black, I thought I would post to see if anyone else thinks that the new facilities are making any difference to the team.

The difference in performance in regards to the new facilities could well be attributed to a significant increase in pride, confidence and passion that major positive changes bring.

The club being free of debt would be another of these major positive changes to the club! Watch out Tigers!!

I had been thinking a similar thing though I couldn't have expressed it as well as you have

nothing more to add

i think it would especially with recover after the previous round, i did read somewhere the club thought it was a huge advantage being across the road from the 'G' because recovery eg. ice baths etc. could begin immediately after a game.

Never underestimate the 1%'s...

I think the players would just get a boost in pride more than anything.

Sometimes a fresh coat of paint used to do the trick. ie. Junction.

From what I understand the weights are almost exactly as heavy at AAMI as they were at Junction.

Snap!

I liked that one.

I very much doubt they are a hindrance to our performance.

Convenience and time are the 2 biggest factors.

Very true, but with presumably more space and equipment I've been wondering if it would be possible to quantify the % improvement in the efficiency of weights sessions (ie. less time waiting for equipment means more time under the bar).

Might have to tweet @CamSchwab (like he's got nothing better to do!!)

Two words.

Jim Stynes.

I don't get it. The question was 'Are the new facilities giving us better results?'

your answer is Jim Stynes? Sorry maybe im just dumb but I don't get what you mean.

HAHAHA, my thoughts exactly. quite funny.

Perhaps they meant better machines and equipment. Or perhaps the old 5 kg weights now way a hefty 6.678 kg.

Their own pool meeting rooms, club rooms, computer labs, study rooms etc would surely help create a successful environment.

That's his reason for our better performance on the field. Jim Stynes.

There have been gains in efficiency and better use of player time ... the players used to spend some time travelling between facilities ... Junction Oval and pools for example.

That would have to help them train better, or at least just make them happier.

Rivals break a sweat

THEY will never take the field against each other - but three of Melbourne's elite teams have unwittingly found themselves locked into a subtle rivalry. Call it the battle of the AAMI Park gymnasium

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
