So how did everyone feel waking up this morning?

The MFC and MFC supporters have rallied behind the red and blue. A team that is showing very promising and exciting prospects both on and off the field.

Last night roughly $1.1 Million was raised, which is a fantastic effort. Thanks to everyone who has donated over the last few years.

Keep your eye on the Re and the Blue!!!!!

Everything is snowballing in a good direction at present. Now were back to level pegging, the club needs to stay on the front foot and just keep moving into a positive financial position. Thanks to everyone who contributed and to all the companies, who we should all get behind as well. Go Dees...

I'll be sure that in the years to come when I have children and I take them to watch the Demons play they know what Jim Stynes has done for this club. What an amazing effort by an amazing person and the team he has assembled behind him. Let's all now get behind the sequel to debt demolition, Jim's Cancer Cancellation.

Yesterday should go down in our history as one of our great days. I love the fact that of the $5 million debt, $1.5 was smashed by the average demons fan that just gave what they could.

Congratulations must go to Jimmy and Cam for rallying everyone to the cause and daring us to believe in a grand future, onwards and upwards now!

An amazing effort by all concerned . Thanks Jim for your inspiration and selflessness. Cameron and Co you have theadmiration of all supporters . Good luck with the next phase. To anyone who ever opened their wallet .. Praise.

Hopefully we will now deserve and command our due respect and in course better discourse in dealings with the AFL and other parties. To the fourth .. Take note we are just awakening the Demon, he hasn't begun to run amok yet !!!

Who else gets that feeling ... It's finally happening.

Thanks again to the supporters, volunteers, players and of course patrons and mentors of this fine club.

And off we go:)

And of course to all the Foundation Heroes, who have donated at an unprecedented level to assist and arguably save this great Club.

Seriously good news. We should all feel very proud this morning. Everyone who has contributed to getting us back in black.

Just remember though guys, it doesn't sto here. We must keep up our financial support of the MFC. Not trying to be a negative Nancy, but we cant afford to take our eye off the ball and go back now.

Jimmah and Schwabby have been outstanding. Amazing job fellas. Thanks for all you have given back to the CLub.

You can really feel it now, The Demons are alive and the heart of this football club is beating truer than I have ever known.

Go you DEEEEEEEEEEEEmons!

It certainly goes to show that far from apathetic Demon supporters at all levels have stood up. The club has a new lease on life so to speak, let's keep it going. The foundations are there, resources are to hand and the belief hasn't been this fervent for... Well a long LONG time !!!

Go DEES !!!

Has Jimmy erased every single down-fall of our club in the space of 2 years?

- Fixed our huge debt

- elite facilities at Aami and Casey

- re-ignite the relationship between MCC and MFC

- record member 33,000

- Very competitive crowd figures, now around mid-table in the afl

- exciting on-field list through a measured approach of drafting and trading young players

- No one can say any more that we are not passionate members. Debt demolision has unified the club, making all supporters feel like they 'own' the club they support

- Great sponsorship deal that would be up there with all AFL clubs

- Will make $2m profit this year

Now we just need to start investing in our asset base to ensure our future forever. Once this is accomplished, we can sit back, relax, and enjoy future premierships

Geelong are making squillions from their home games and corporate support. They've been upgrading their "stadium" gradually with government assistance and paying off their loans after Cookie & Costa marched inbto the bank for a loan. They have been building their asset base and increasing their supporter base to over 40,000.

Now Jimmy , CS & Co. can put their efforts into building our asset base to sustain the club moving forward (sorry sound like Julia). Go Dees !

I have to say, I'm starting to get a little sick and tired of some of these debt riddled clubs (Collingwood $8mill, Carlton $6mill) getting fixture wellfare in the form of blockbuster games while us other debt free clubs prop them up by copping the Sunday games. B)

Wow, what a BREAKOUT year this has been for the club

I can't remember so many positives things happening in any club in one year

A HUGE thanks to EVERYONE at the club, all the generous benefactors and and all the supporters who held fat when all looked doom and gloom

This is a GREAT time to be a DEMON, the vibe is everywhere

I even feel sorry for the ferals this weekend

It was great to wake up this morning to hear Tim Watson say Melbourne Football Club is now debt free. Its just fantastic what Jim and Chris and Cameron have been able to achieve in just 2 years. Im also glad to be able to doante $50 towards the cause.

My question is do we still receive assistance from the AFL? You know how they give us money and the dogs as well. Do we still receive this or now can we stand on our own 2 feet. It would be great the day we can say to the AFL we dont need your money.

Anyway great work. I just heard Garry Lyon on mmm and he spoke about last night and couldnt believe how great the facilities are and the amount of money people donated. he also said its nice to see the premiership cups on display instead of being in a cupboard where they used to be.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
