Matchday - Dees v Ess

Robert Walls is the worst offender, just blurting out "we're back in this!" on the Bombers comeback in the 3rd quarter. What a nonce.

'"We're"'......seriously?

He does remember he's a Carlton man right?!!!

That's what confused me as well, but apparently he supported the Dons as a kid. He's only gotten worse as the game has progressed. Disappointment whenever Melbourne score and pure elation when Essendon score.

Great win..disappointing that they allowed them to kick the last 3 or 4.

I think it was the last 6 of 7 ... could have been, should have been, a 10 goal win. Very lax, and very disappointing.

I'm not sure exactly how bad Essendon are - nor do I know how good we are.

Given normal inconsistencies, our next four games may be indicative: Fremantle (in WA); Sydney (MCG; Brisbane (Gabba) and Richmond (MCG).

Freo at Subiaco will be a big ask but it's still a pretty good run for the next 4 fixtures. Nothing to be intimidated by. Easy to get swept up in the Tigers hype but I still think we have their number. Fremantle lost that match last night rather than them winning it.

Good win boys!

Watts must be a good basketballer....

Post fail.

Watts was good and showed some seriously exciting glimpses, but the victory was pretty hollow.

The last quarter ruined what was a good game otherwise.

Maybe one day we'll win 4 quarter

Bouquets and Brickbats witht the prior much more the important:) great win and was nearly on course for my desired 60 pointer !!! :)) and this is where they fell down they let them bak in and JUST managed at times to keep the door shut.

Wont be picky too much ..its a win and we needed it :))) Good to put under their belt and learn :)

hhhmmmm not trying to start trouble JD but I thought he was average at best. He needs to lift is intensity levels and focus. He shows some glimpses of real class and quality but needs to lift the intensity.

Looking fwd to seeing him develop further with Green, Jurrah, Bate and hopefully Wonna for us to have a really potent fwd structure.

Allowing them to kick 6 of the last 7 was a disgrace.

A real let down on what would have been a great thrashing of the Scum. I sadly remember them coming back from 48 pts down in the LAST quarter to beat us so a chance to bury them has gone begging. Very poor.

When the heat was on we were clearly the better side on the park. But there clearances were a big concern for mine.

Says it all. The umpires gave us half a dozen goals, they played appallingly at times, and couldn't kick straight all day. Had any one of those three things gone the other way, we'd have lost I reckon.

Yeah, see, now you're getting a case of the rose-coloured glasses again. Watts kicked one goal from a non-free. He made ok position a few times, maybe laid a tackle or two that were ok, but he was beaten on the day. Not humiliated, certainly, but beaten. One thing he certainly wasn't, was "good."

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
