No change why do we need to. We drew with Collingwood.

We always play well on QB.

We always play terribly at AAMI.

That's all the reasons we need to make changes.

No change why do we need to. We drew with Collingwood.

If our captain, and potential B&F leader to this point in the season is fit, he plays.

You're getting carried away with the excitement about McKenzie's potential if you think he deserves a spot more than James McDonald.

As teams improve, getting dropped doesn't necessarily mean you have underperformed or are no good, it just means you're not (yet) as good as the player who is taking your spot.

In this case, James McDonald & Colin Sylvia are better players than Jordie McKenzie & Jack Watts.

Somebody please explain to me what Miller did that makes him so worthy of keeping his spot..)

I'd love to know this too. Given that Miller and Watts have both been very poor in recent weeks, in my eyes the only distinguishing feature between the two is that one is young and has a chance to redeem himself and the other has been playing like that for years.

Why do some of you prefer Miller over Watts?

I thought Miller played really quite well against Collingwood. He worked very hard in a lot of contested situations to hold up the ball when there was nobody ahead of him, often against 2-3 opponents. The kind of stuff that isn't reflected in stats. Furthermore, unless my memory has totally failed me, he kicked 2 goals.

So it sounds like both Junior and Sylvia will be given every opportunity to play on Sunday so i'm expecting both to be named in the initial squad, however i don't think that Junior will get up for the game as he appears to be more of a long shot according to some of the articles on the afl website and the Hun.

So with that I reckon the changes will be:

In: Junior (but won't play), Sylvia, MacDonald (i only suggest this because he didn't play for casey last week and there's no report of him being injured).

Out: Gysberts, Jetta

Junior is only 50/50 so he might well not be named....probably reading more than was there but from Bailey's comments I am doubtful they will play Sylvia and might give them both another week off. I dont mind this with Junior, not so he ends up playing the milestone game at home but because with hammys and his age it can quickly become an issue so better to give him another week if we get another year into him next year.

I reckon there will be no outs at this stage and just an extended bench with possibly the two above included just to throw the crows off a bit.

Gysberts has played three games and was arguably our best player in two of them, and in the third was given a hard time by mature bodies because of this. I highly doubt dropping him is on the radar at all. If McDonald and Sylvia are both fit then the omissions will come from one of Watts and Miller, and one of McKenzie and Jetta IMO. I can't see anyone else being in contention from being left out.

Fair call. I would be surprised if Jetta got the chop though - there's not really another small forward in the side.

Watts to me looks like he is very low on confidence and isn't trusting himself to do the things that should be automatic. I'd like to see him go back to Casey and play as a key forward rather than the flanker role he's currently doing.

well we'll all know in about 30 minutes who's in and who's out. I still get the feeling Joel Mac will be back though.

I certainly wouldn't have said "prefer". He is adding more to the team right now though.

Playing one ruckman, Miller does do a bit of a chop-out role for Jamar when he's having a rest (when he remembers).

Mostly though, Miller is providing more of a target than Watts. And I don't think Watts is learning anything in the seniors at the moment because of a lack of belief. I'd like to see him play a position where he can get a bit of the ball - on the wing (at AFL level),as a key position forward or even in the ruck (at VFL level).

IN: Sylvia

OUT: Miller

Miller is a Casey key forward.

McDonald is 50/50.

So Gysberts had one not-so-good game. He had two rippers before that.

Watts needs the AFL experience, and...tell me three names in Adelaide's defense that are half-decent.

I'd keep the Gys in this week & have a view of giving him 6 or 7 games AFL, but not more, & have him right for Casey finals. He's a young first Yr kid & would do well with a heep of his future mates to play together in A Winning Finals Campaign...

I think that would be far more important than an extra couple of AFL games this season,,, Playing the next wave together in a group would be sensational for their collective games, teamwork & bonding.

Where is Sylvia? :(

Sylvia is a thumping kick! There are a lot of Foot injuries starting to occur @ AFL level in recent times, that bleeding & consequent Blood Clot had to be caused by something in his kicking foot. I hope its not a sinister cause, like any bone issue or anything.

Get well Col & hope to see you back soon.

Not surprised, back on Tuesday I said Junior and Sylvia were no certs to get back.

I mentioned in the lead up to the Collingwood game that Sylvia would not play.

He has had a very seriousd injury, I sure most do not appreciate how serious it was.

Why wife and a friend both work in the medical industry and both said to me he will be out for 3-4 weeks

when it first happened their words have been proven correct.

Gysberts disposals were a bit too shabby for mine. Not a bad couple of games but gald to see him out. Think Dunn should stay in, Watts to go. That's all

Bit too shabby?? The kid was watched pretty damn closely against the pies, he didnt get that many and was under pressure each time. He will learn from that but not by sitting back here watching it on TV.

Tough gig AFL.

Rising Star nomination in Rd 11 then dropped in Round 13.

Rumour has it that he's had a growth spurt to 192cm and needs time at Casey to reach 193cm for AFL.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
