The forward line is struggling again. Where our midfield was able to get on top, now they're getting hit hard. Without a winning midfield, we have no-one to enter fifty or kick from long range. We're looking at a goal-less quarter here.

Not good signs.

Brent Harvey at halftime says "We confident we will run over the top of them in the second half". Hey genius, you are already in front.

North Melbourne are a crap side - why are we letting them dictate who owns the corridor? If they are blocking the corridor - go and stand next to them and if all 36 players are in a line down the middle of the ground, so be it. This going backwards, sideways stuff is shithouse. I hope the whole side cops a huge spray in the break.

Then only hope here is that we have had VERY strong last quarters so far this year, with a couple of kids who run out games VERY well.

I'm surprised they're still taking bets. Roos are going to win, and win well.

They copped a huge spray at quartertime and that didn't do anything.

Forward line needs structural changes. Thinking outside the square, I'd go with Martin at fullback and Warnock at fullforward. Almost worked in the Richmond game last year!

Down on intensity, and not running for each other anywhere as much as they need to. Need a huge swing to win this. Earlier poster has it nailed, north are pressuring us like we have pressured other sides lately and we are struggling

That sucked.. a goal on the siren.

Half time:

NM 55 Mel 21

Important qtr / half coming up - our last chance to salvage some of the respect we've earned over the last few weeks..

Bruce Jamar Dunn our better players..

Slyvia Davey benny bartram martin jones trenny green all need to improve this half and if they do, we'll have a chance.

Lacklustre. Cannot get free of their close tackling. Compared to last week, way too many turn-overs. We can stomach a quarter of this standard, but not a half.

But we came out superbly for a quarter against Richmond (and yes, it was only a quarter of 'A'-class football)- and vs Brisbane we know it can be done.

Too much to ask for "character" at this stage. Just one of those so-so dull games - I would have preferred to have played like this against the Dogs.

This one should have been another 4 points.

Not over, but she's spat out the phlegm, and cleared her throat.

FFS. The only intensity the boys are showing is when they push their opponent in the back or manage to give away some other type of free.

Oh, and Harvey pantsed Bartram and kicked another one for NM. Game over.

Sorry can't describe this sh** any more.

Morton interviewed at halftime. Hopes to play VFL next week...

...with Bartram, Benny, Martin...

EDIT: hope Watts plays well at casey this week.. it may be his time if so.

Definately missing Jordie. MFC have started taking risks down the corridor and margin is back to 30 points.

Skills - particularly picking up the football - lacklustre

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
