I know we are not at our home ground and personally im not a fan of the ground but we are a huge chance to win our 4th in a row. But if we can get a huge turnout of melbourne supporters then we can make the atmosphere more better and cheer louder and make more noise than the north suppporters. We are playing exciting footy at the moment.

So get along and hopefully it will be victory number 4.

I totally agree!!!

It was awsome having all those fans last saturday night. And yes it's North's home game but the more melbourne people the louder it will be!

Agree, this notion of not having to support the team just because you don tlike the stadium doesnt wash with me. Theres no real excuse its only a train station away from the G.

Always looks good if you can outnumber the home teams fans. Regardless of were we play if your able to get there why wouldn't you go?

I haven't been to Etihad since Bruce did the collar bone (apart from AC/DC!!)

Does anyone know the procedure now for an MCC Member if i just roll up to the ground??

To be honest, I haven't read anyone on here say they won't go because they despise the stadium.

I think it's a great stadium to watch the game, personally. But I prefer the "G"

I hope we out number the Roo supporters and get behind the boys. Keep up the momentum.

It's also good to go to help support a fellow financially struggling team

If you have to watch it from the top deck you can't see the boundary unless you are in the front 1 or 2 rows. Whatever you do you need to get near the front or find a spot on the ground level.

I won't be there.

Nothing against the stadium, the only problem I ever had was, I do not want our home games there :)

And that was the AFL, not the stadium.

This is not our home game and we need all the support we can get. I don't like the ground but I love the Club so I will do what I can to support them.

There are far too many MFC supporters that won't move from the comfort of the G.

Shattered i can't make it this week. IM in singapore but found a aussie pub that might show it. Anyone know if i can watch it on the net??

One of the biggest memories that sticks with me about this ground was when davey tore his hamstring couple years ago

Really looking forward to coming down this week. I think we're a great chance to get a win but wouldn't have totally written of the Roos just yet. We haven't won a game at this venue since 08 I believe, and if you ask me this ground has always been a bit of a boogie ground for us. Saying that I think it'll be exciting to see how this particular team plays the ground. Will be good to see the boys play away from the 'G with some confidence, which is the first time I've been able to say this for years.

I'm pretty sure a 'regular' (Soze? Enforcer?) said he won't attend because it's at ES.

I agree that it's a good stadium to watch from, but I also think it's pretty devoid of soul.

wont be at the game sadly.. ill be at work reguarly checkin updates..

ive already taken work of for the following friday ... i cant wait to play the dogs at the G that is going to be a massive night

i live in the western suburbs and i have to deal with bandwagon doggies supporters everywhere i go!

Still 50/50 about going to the game.

It all comes down to how my son is feeling on the day, hard to predict the mood of a 3 month old!

Does anyone know if Etihad is "pram" friendly? I have only been for Union games.

Eat a hat is the least pram friendly stadium i've ever been to. They won't let you sit the disabled seats if there is nobody disabled and there is really nowhere to go with a pram. We just take a very small stroller and hope for the best. Hopefully since it's only north and I've got three kids and no wife this week we will be ok!!

Peter, There is a bar opposite Orchard Hotel in Orchard Road. It is in the basement and run by an Aussie ex horse racing farrier. He gets a lot of the games coming in live but you might want to go there on the Friday evening to watch that game and check on his opening times for the Saturday given it will be on at 12.10 there.

There is also the Australia Network which is probably how I will get to see it as I am in Vietnam now.

Good luck and go Dees.

All depends on the weather for me this week!!!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
