Hope you're right Balls! I can tell you one thing - unlike a majority or people in here, I will be delighted if J Brwn doesn't make it this weekend. He is a great player who is a proven match winner off his own boot. He was going to be a tough match-up, Frawley is the obvious answer for Fev, Garland and Joel Mac to take Staker and Brennan, would have left Warnock on Brown which I was a bit nervous about, especially seems Brown likes to go up the ground a bit (I think if he plays/played out of the goal square Warnock would be capable).

We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but the task in considerably easier if he doesn't play. It will still show where our list is at at the moment, and will give us a slight chance to be 3-2 by the end of the long weekend.

If he is injured, maybe its better he plays???? Target the injury-make him feel it. Put him off his game. Interesting situation either way.

I recall Frawlery playing on Fevola in about round 18 last year. Kept him virtually kickless until Bailey took him off! I recall the ABC broadcasting the match and describing Frawley's frustration as Fevola got back into the match and ended up kicking quite a few.Frawley's the man for Fev in my vies.

Brennan could be a big threat now

Spot on, I remember the game, Jamar kicked 5, and Carlton were looking decidedly ordinary : Bails got nervous about the upset, so bye-bye Chipper. Notice how I didn't mention the word 'tank'...........oops!

Saturday Night, 5th June Brisbane are playing North Melbourne at Etihad - go watch him there! Hopefully it's not Saturday Night, 24th April!

Haha, spot on Billy! You lot are kidding yourselves! Don't go playing the whole 'oh id rather see him out there' card - cause thats utter crap!

You see, the thing about Melbourne supporters is they take pride in edumacation.

It stops them from doing dumb stuff like comparing Jack Watts to Luke Molan, then mouthing off about 'contributing to the progress of the team of the red and the blue'.

Most of the time.

Pure gold .. LMAO

I can't believe we have only played the Lions at the G once since 2000. That was last year and we won by a point. Amazing stat.

That's a ripper stat. I've been telling everyone whose questioned me on our chances this weekend that we haven't lost to the Lions at the G in ten years...no further explanation required.

brown is playing this weekend

hell yeah, love watching him play.

According to AFL teams (Fox Sports) he will have a fitness test 4pm friday. Parkin is adamant he won't play for what that is worth.

The Lions are training about a block from my work at 4, might have to sneak out early and he see how he trains..with a close eye on Black at the same time

He didn't train. So if it was meant to be a fitness test it didn't happen. Black is also under a cloud even though he trained. I suspect both won't play. Voss gave the biggest hint when he said it is a long season and they have to be careful with their players in relation to injuries.

Well if neither play Brisbane will have 0 Premiership players in their team.

First time since 2003 someone told me.

That doesn't make sense.

If Brown nor Black play, Brisbane will have no premiership players tonight.

Yeah, if Brown and Black are both withdrawals, then Brisbane won't have any premiership players in its team tonight. And someone told me that this would be the first time that his has happened since they won their most recent flag (i.e. every match Brisbane's played since that Grand Final, they've had at least 1 premiership player in their team).

Ah. It was the 2003 I didn't agree with, you'd have to go back to '01 at least

There are murmurings by Lions supporters that Sherman is out with a corky.

I dunno about all these injuries. No Power, and let's say Brown and Sherman... and Black is underdone. Who have we beaten? Don't get me wrong, posters here have changed my mind... we certainly are more desperate for wins than honourable losses... But Jesus.

Oops, well the point is still valid, it's been a while since they've fielded a team without a premiership player.

That would help more than Black being out IMO. Black's not been in the greatest of form this year, and he'd be somewhat underdone if he did play. Sherman's been good for them this year.

I'll still take the win thankyou very much. We're not a finals team. Every win's a good win.

Even if Black, Brown and Sherman are all out, who cares? They're still an undefeated team with players like Fevola, Brennan, Drummond, McGrath, Rich, Leuenberger, Johnstone. There's plenty of talent outside of their injured players, and they're a finals, and premiership contender, which we aren't. Ergo, beating them, despite their injuries, will be a good win for the club.

In a way I agree with you Dan, it would be preferred to win against top teams who are full strength.

On the other hand, we're owed a bit of a luck don't you think?

What he's saying is that every game from the 2003 premiership until now they have had at least 1 premiership player playing.

Good stat that. They'll have as much experience as us! In fact we'll have more because Green played in the 2000 GF.

Yeah I'm with you Titan.

Jnrmac, they have Staker who played in '05 - but that should help us more.

They also have TJ, who played in 2000. So that's 2 to our 1.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
