Can I get a player review for those playing for Casey on the weekend?

Did Rivers play there? What of Watts, Martin, Newton, Spencer etc?

On another point can someone advise re Bail what is his preferred side for kicking? Have I dreamed that he kicks pretty fluently with both legs?

Check the Casey thread under Casey Scorpions forum: HERE

KC from Casey is writing a report tonight. But here is a brief summary which KC from Casey gave: -

Final Result

Casey Scorpions 4.4.28 8.8.56 13.10.88 13.12.90

Collingwood 4.4.28 7.7.49 9.14.68 13.22.100

Goals

Casey Scorpions Martin Stockdale 3 Jetta Nicholls 2 Hughes Taylor

Wall

Collingwood Dawes 3 Buckley Corrie 2 Frost Hunter McNamara O'Bree Reed Wood

Best

Casey Scorpions Wall Stockdale Nicholls Johnson Strauss Cheney

Collingwood Dawes Blight Sundberg O'Bree Goldsack Brown

The Scorpions were going down like nine pins at the end. Apart from Mohr who popped a shoulder and Wall who was very proppy, Tom McNamara injured his ribs early, Healy cramped in the last quarter and Danny Highes who played well today, also looked injured and was noticeably limping. In the end, the Woods were too experienced and too strong for the Scorpions whose rotations were limited and they struggled near the goals.

Jack Watts was hot and cold. Won't get promoted on that performance.

Travelling interstate tonight and will write report tomorrow night.

Posted this on other Casey thread (see High Towers link above) but here it is again if it helps.

I was at Casey behind the goals at one end most of the day so may have a skewed perception of the game (plus had a few beers under the belt) but this is what I saw...

Spencer was OK in ruck but was very quiet around the ground. He took 1 good pack mark from a kick out and thats about it.

I wouldn't hold my breath about Maric becoming a small forward at AFL level... doesn't get much of the footy and butchered at least 2 easy shots on goal (25m on the run) in the 1st quarter.

PJ was good in the ruck and got plenty of it around the ground. Played at both ends but in defence mainly and took some good marks.

Strauss was solid and thought he used it pretty well hitting targets.

Cheney didn't notice him get many touches but was reliable when he did.

Stef Martin looked good up forward. Took some good strong marks and kicked straight.

Jetta looked dangerous when ever he was involved. Kicked a few goals and involved in a few more. Clean skills & pace.

Jack Watts played half forward & wing. Not very influential but helped set up a few goals with clean skills. Heard he got 24 touches which surprised me thought it might be just under 20. A few times he was good below his knees when ball in dispute and beat smaller players around him. Jack is noticeably bigger more of a Dunn build now.

Cheers big tuna.

Like the report on Jetta & Watts. Encouraging. Good to see Jetta among the goals & goal assists. So too, Martin.

SO Jack Watts has a fairly quiet game, not one of his best, and still racks up 24? I'm beginning to get some idea of what we have on our hands here. So Who's this NicNat everyone keeps talking about?

Nic Nat was BOG on Friday night and has done miles, miles more than Watts has done to date. Yes it is too early to tell who will be better in the long run, but to act completely blind to the exceptional football NicNat has played to date is getting moronic.

RM was being light hearted. I think you've taken him out of context.

"Jack Watts played up the ground and got some classy touches."

Wow. What a surprise. It's certainly better than getting no touches, though.

This reinforces my view that a second board solely for Casey threads doesn't seem to be needed (and may be more of a hinderance than a help for users).

Agree that it is frustrating, though a simple way around it would be to duplicate the weekly Casey match thread so that it appears in the footy message board and the Casey board simultaneously. Can this be done? I have seen threads moved around before from board to board. Can they be duplicated? That way there is still a board where people can discuss Casey issues without the threads getting lost down the pecking order too rapidly as they inevitably would in the footy message board. I think Casey deserves to have a place of its own on this site as our boys are developing at the club (and indeed it is our club as well).

BOG? That's a bit of a stretch. I agree he showed some freakish ability, but he still only had 13 disposals. Despite my repeated downplaying of his abilities, I am not blind to his obvious talent. I just get sick of people proclaiming him the Second Coming every time he sneezes. He had some amazing touches on Friday, but to proclaim him BOG is waaaay over the top. He is still a fumble-fingered overgrown child at the moment. His game is half brilliance and half slapstick, and it's to his credit that he is quick enough and determined enough that he generally tracks down his own mistakes and tries to get the ball back again.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
