Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Pretty handy 2nd banana, him and Kruizer have carved up the Togers thus far.

He's ok in a ruck contest, but around the ground he is a liability.

For what we would have paid him, Carlton can keep him.

70 Dream Team points at three quarter time. I know DT is inaccurate, but still.

For a 208cm bloke who hasn't played footy for a long time he looks very good.

His first Game in 2 years-He played Well. Will only improve as well.

We wanted him, and think he will probably go ok, but really happy we didn't go for him at that price.

I always thought why on earth we went for he and Alwyn Davey at that time. Neither were to play in a premiership IMO. Alwyn is self evident now, and I think Warnock will be easily pushed aside by stronger ruckman. I would rather the old fashioned ruckman, as St Kilda have shown with King. The rules now favour bigger bodies, not skinny blokes.

I wasn't pushing that we get him, just observed he played a good first up game. Was against Richmond so yes difficult to gauge real form But after 2 years out i thought he did ok

My point is that we don't need him atmo, we have Jamar who I believe at the mo is better. we'll see during the course of the year.

I don't think carlton will win a flag in 2010 - 2012, & by that time we will be making our push. I think we'll overtake them, unless they whiteant some of our players again.

Our facilities are about to be the state of the art of the AFL.

Our facilities are about to be the state of the art of the AFL.

You think?? Really??? So traveling between Casey and some shared facility near the MCG is the same as having a 20 mil private facility at you own HOME GROUND where you train EVERY week for the ENTIRE season??? From pre-season to GF??? Trust me, I know from 1st hand experience what an advantage the Blues, Pies, Dogs, Eagles, Crows et al have over the hapless old Demons... We can put any spin we like on gaining new facilities... we will ALWAYS be behind our rivals in terms of facilities. Not saying we can't win a flag, but our current situation leaves us forever behind the 8 ball.

Not having a go at you. Just trying to show you the reality... Our current set of circumstances (needing to simultaneously create a new supporter base but keep up with AFL standars) has left us just as vulnerable as in the bad old days at the Junction Oval. We need to travel miles and miles in the Summer just to attend a semi-standard facility (a good surface with goal posts, but still with no gym and an hour drive away) just to come close to Carlton (20 mil facility in the heart of Melbourne available 24/7 for use as Carlton pleases!!!). Yeah... Best in the league. We'll share in harmony with the Storm, vixens and Victory/Heart... No probs... whenever we want we'll head there. the Storm can [censored] off if they want it and we do too... Oh, but Carlton are going to struggle to organize times to train too... the Melbourne Uni 1st 18 will want to train close to campus... Surely Carlton will have to let them train when they want to... Won't they... Use the gym when they want to..

Shocking misrepresentation of our circumstances grounded in no informed knowledge of the true state of affairs.

All, please disregard this baseless rubbish.

OK then... tell us all about our current circumstances... tell us all how you, as an AFL footballer, would rather be involved with the MFC, drive to Cranbourne all pre-season to a facility without a gym, come back to Melbourne to do your weights session, making sure it fits in with other professional sporing clubs schedule so that you can become a grand final winning team...

Or would you rather join Carlton, drive a few minutes down the road to a cushy 20 milllion dollar facility of your own, with large photographic tributes to players from your own club staring over you... who have graced the hallowed playing fields of the AFL/VFL for the last century... Oh no, our unfinished shared 'home' at the Olympic Park precinct and as yet unfinished 'home' at Casey Fields are much better... in fact, so good that we are already looking at a new Docklands 'home' for the future... because we have the best facilities in the state...

Not saying I'm 100% right. In fact would love to be proven wrong... But please give us a bit more than your assertion that I have given a "Shocking misrepresentation of our circumstances grounded in no informed knowledge of the true state of affairs." Happy to be proven incorrect if you have the inside scoop an Inner Demon would have.

I'm just not yet convinced that we have solved the problem of our biggest disadvantage to training and recruiting. I have personally seen the facilities at carlton, Collingwood and Western Bulldogs. I have also seen Richmond's facilities. We are paupers compared to the first three clubs. We are on par with the Tigers. We are at the same end of the ladder as the Tigers. We are not at the same end of the ladder as the Dogs, Blues and Pies. Discuss...

Actually, I'd go as far as saying that now I have provided some more evidence (even if you don't agree) that my assertion is not baseless rubbish, don't bother posting such dismissive rubbish yourself... You need to provide some sort of evidence to back up your assertions. Know-all comments such as what you have posted are more 'baseless rubbish' than what I posted when not backed up with any evidence. Please ... please provide evidence with some experience YOU have that shows what we all want to hear... that what I said IS baseless rubbish... because I would love it to be so that I have spewed "baseless rubbish". I would love to hear how amazing our training facilities are... so amazing that Chris Judd, Robbie warnock and Brock McLean would be dying to get in to the Melbourne FC.

very good chook. i like it. I have popped my top. Refer to my post in another thread outlining my inability to attend matches this year. Add that to my frustration at not having won a game this pre-season and you can see where my pessimism is coming from. Thankfully, my pessimism does not extend to my expectations of our FUTURE performance. I expect us to rise up the ladder in the next few years... just not because of our superior training facilities.

For a player that has missed a fair bit of football in the past 2 years, I thought Warnock's game was promising. If Warnock is a capable ruckman then it allows Carlton to play Kruezer forward. And I think Kruezer is a VG footballer with smarts and excellent ball skills for a big man. I would not have paid the price Carlton did to get Warnock. However, Its hard to gauge where Warnock and Carlton are truly at against a team like Richmond. The Tigers looked terrible last night with the game played a pretty much 3/4 pace with little defensive pressure from the Tigers when they did not have the ball. The spirit of Wallace lives on in the Tigers debacle.

If we're going to discuss the circumstances at this exact moment in time, then yes, it is true that our situation is less than perfect, and the gym isn't yet built at Casey and the Olympic Park facility is also incomplete.

What I take issue with are the assertions that we will be some kind of second-class citizen at AAMI Park where we won't have access to facilities and that you seem to be dismissing our move there as still not reaching the heights of the other clubs who you seem to believe will continue to have superior facilities to us once we move in. It's certain parts of your rant like sharing the facilities with Melbourne Vixens and that Carlton, Collingwood, Bulldogs have 'home grounds' with year-round access that really make me believe you're just carrying on for the sport of it.

1. In fact, it is Collingwood who share facilities with Melbourne Vixens. Not us.

2. We will have as much of a 'home ground' as any of the clubs you name. It's right there. Right next to our change rooms. None of the Melbourne based clubs train on their 'home ground'. MCG & Etihad are not training venues.

3. The idea that the club might make some kind of last minute decision to pop down for a train at AAMI only to find the Storm are already there is beyond laughable. These things are scheduled months in advance, it is an absolute non-issue that sharing the facilities with other Clubs in some way impinges on our ability to train.

And for what it's worth, in just a couple of short months we will have the glorious entry hall complete with the pictures of past players, premiership cups, etc that you see as giving Carlton the spectacular edge that has led them to 3 wooden spoons in the last 5 years.

Wow looks like this thread went off topic pretty quickly.

Back to Warnock, he looks like a very good prospect. There will be a few people singing his praises today after a solid game last night.

He'll only continue to get better as the season goes and i think he would have been a good fit at Melbourne but as long as he keeps improving his dream team value I'm happy.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
