Who is destined to play CHF for the dees

Agree with that but at least Juice is usually good for 2 goals a game. I say we play him the next 3 praccy matches and see if he warrants a rookie upgrade.

Agreed. Don't like juice but he gets shots on goal and does put forward line pressure on (as much as prople dont think he does he this is one area i rate the bloke). Just can't kick! Whats the point in even having him as a rookie if he doesnt play NAB games? Even Hughes when are we going to see him play? He was taking hangers last year in the forward line for Casey wasnt he?

Just put some blokes over 6.2" in our forward line ffs we need to see if we are capable of putting the score on the board

Martin to replace Garland down back.

HF: Bate Dunn Sylvia

F: Garland Green Jurrah

I'd give this set up a crack and then ease Watts into the set up off the bench. Miller is unlikely to make it although for some reason I hold a faint glimmer. (I think it's the effort he puts in) So roll the dice with Dunn. Give him 6 - 8 weeks and say "Lynden, if you want to play in a Premiership with this club you've 8 weeks to prove to us you can own a position"

Oh and say it really loud to him so he knows you mean it.

In fact grab him with both hands by the collar and yell it in his face!

Used to work in the Under 16's

after hearing him speak last night I have no doubt our CHF will be jack, he seems really annoyed with last year and his injuries this year and he is very very keen to get out there and show his stuff.

According to Garland who was also at the night he has been training with the backs but he said he would be happy to play anywhere. The way that he was talking I think he will be down back.

With a fit Garland, we have one of the best backlines in the league. With that in place, we should move on to other areas, midfield, forwardline, ruck etc without dirupting the one decent area in the side.

I want Newton to have an extended run up forward, if he gets promoted.

But until then, we need Newton in the forward line. Underrated and much maligned. Too bad he's a rookie now.

To most posters on this board Juice isnt in our best 22

I would be delighted if he shows he should be

Dear God...

Newton has never once shown that he is capable at AFL level. Never once. I don't care that he's never really had an extended run in the team, he's never deserved one. His time is gone, and that is why he is sitting on the rookie list.

Martin, Miller or Morton could do the job better than Newton. So could Garland, but I feel he's best suited to defence.

please god no!!!! do not let morton anywhere near the ball...he is hyped up and should not be on our list

Sarcasm? Confusion of names? Sheer ignorance?

One of the few players who SHOULD be near the ball, but not at CHF.

There is only one word to answer the OP's question.

Watts.

As soon as whatever injury he has is healed, he should be played on the forward line, not necessarily CHF, but somewhere, and left there to learn the game. I'm not in favour of [censored]-footing around with these supposedly talented young players. If he gets a couple of shots on goal a match he'll likely kick them, which can't be said for Miller and Newton. All talk of Newton should be terminated. Miller? There is an argument for someone who puts himself on the line and has a heart, short-term at least.

I favour trying Dunn at CHF for a while, and Green at FF. I contend that Jurrah will be crowded out in the pocket this year, but if he's got a brief to do what he likes and wander around the forward line, I suppose there's no harm in naming him there.

Bate is a good player, but I've never seen him 'play tall'. Remind me of some of his overhead marks. I don't just mean over his head - over an opponent's head.

Martin is a defender who won't be able to gain enough of the ball in attack.

Garland is as yet a mystery as a forward, and won't be in the side for a while.

In the long term FF and CHF will be Watts and Fitzpatrick. Laugh if you will, but I have faith in my own entirely baseless conclusions despite a complete absence of facts and four games between them at senior level. Just you wait until 2014 and see who's laughing.

It's certainly in the club's mind that Fitzpatrick play forward but Jack is the CHF. Someone with his height, pace and agility needs more room than FF offers.

Martin looked much better as a defender than as a ruckman or forward. They need to find a position for him a keep him there.

I agree he is far too raw to be a hole filler. He needs stability even if he has to do that at Casey and that goes for Dunn too. Play them both in then positions that they have showed the most promise cause ATM what they are doing with them is not working. Make the experienced players the hole fillers cause they are no good being our match winners and let the kids play.

Newton... CHF?......I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

The season hasn't even started and a parallel universe, unrestrained by reality has opened up. A place where players struggling to hold a place on the list roll out into key positions

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
