The whole foundation & ethos of a football club is best represented by what occurs on the field.

If you have a culture of laying down to gain priority picks, you are developing a losing culture, that is why a club such as Carlton, with it's priority picks in Kruezer, Murphy & Gibbs aren't going anywhere but 7th or 8th. You can't magically turn on a switch & hope to be successful with the addition of some priority picks. In order for them to be successful, they have to come into an envrionment that seeks success every time they take the field. That isn't the case at Melbourne.

I didn't think you would understand, a football club is not about one or two years, or this or that administration, it's about the history of the club and what they continue to do over many years not just a small point in time.

We continue to uphold community values and are increasing our commitment to doing good things outside of football; Collingwood’s only commitment is to the annual bottom line. The Working mans Club dressed up in Zenga Suits.

Just as a matter of interest how many MFC Games did you see this year? Did you go to the two played against Collingwood and if so do you think we tanked in them? In fact which games that we lost do you think we should have won?

Do you think we maybe were just a poor team this year, one that had half their team out with injuries towards the end? We struggled to make a side some weeks and had just two extra fit players in the last couple of games. We are building a team for the future and the coach was aware that in the past we have been too one dimensional so he decided to play some of our players in different positions, is this tanking or team planning? Which of the games that we experimented in do you think we should have won, or could have won had we played all players in their normal starting positions?

We should remember that Ball is being advised by an astute Manager who has a history of getting his charges to the club of their choice BY MANIPULATING THE DRAFT. He also happens to be Jack Watts manager - let's hope that is not a worry if Ball's attitude to the Demons is reflected by his Manager's!! . Ball is tutored in what to say to put all the others off, aided and abbetted by the Pies. Why should we play Ball! Where is LB going to go if we take him. 23 months on the sidelines at the height of his career that's where. He'd be better off to confess the manipulation and commit fully to the Demons who are going to win a premiership long before the next one by the Pies in any case.

A relatively young, 100 game plus skilled player could be very valuable for us in the next couple off years as we drive to the flag with the most inexperienced, but brilliant list in the comp. Guys like Luke Ball are not going to be available to established clubs like the MFC in the next couple of years as they will all be directed to GC and Western Sydney, manipulated by those clubs preponderance of early round draft picks.

I know we all heard what our Collingwood mate thinks.

However, I would love to hear what a few St Kilda boys think .... does anybody know if we have any St Kilda fans who post here?

Who love to ask them a few questions .... I would respect their opinions.

Then we might be dealing with the facts and not the BS. ;)

Mr Magic seemed like a very intelligent sort, hopefully he's still around. Maybe we should PM him to ask if he'd put his opinion into this thread?

Don't think we've heard from him about it for a while

Thanks ... ok I might just ask the questions and see if we get a reply.

All media hype aside .... Why do you think St Kilda took the stance it did when it came to "talks" with Collingwood?

Now knowing Luke Ball is no longer a St Kilda player, if he ended up at Collingwood do you think your stance will be vindicated?

Do you think Collingwood took a consistent approach to you (St Kilda) & Luke Ball in the negotiations? ie they wanted to pay him $500K per year yet offer you "some picks you where unlikely to use."

Collingwood spent the whole of trade week trying to secure Luke Ball. Subsequently they have spent their time suggesting "they might not even take him at pick 30" what are your views?

In this draft what would you see as Luke Ball's approximate value baring in mind your stance in Trade Week?

Do you as a St Kilda supporter have a preference to where you would like to see Luke Ball end up?

Couldn't sling us a few medical reports could you? ;)

You've pretty much been a rabble since 64'. Countless wooden spoons, countless years out of the finals (there was a period b/w 65' & 86' where you didn't appear in 1 finals match) & countless amount of priority picks.

They're not countless, you just don't know how to count them.

And I've decided to swing back to Nash and Rp's side and will follow my own advice to ignore TOX.

Countless amount of priority picks? Countless?

Priority selections: we see your Josh Fraser and Daisy Thomas with Colin Sylvia and Sam Blease.

As they stand, and for the next 48 hours, we have had exactly the same number of priority selections, but you go right ahead and let your arrogance over-rule your knowledge.

I think we'll pick up Ball at 18.

Pick 18 is a gamble even in the strongest draft. Here we can pick up a proven AFL performer, only 25 yrs old, with tons of leadership to mentor our youngsters.

He will be in our starting 18 for sure each week. He will add alot to the team.

And if he HATES playing for melbourne, then next year we can trade him for a pick between 20-30.

Considering next year's draft will be strong, this is a good scenario anyways!

all it means is that pick 11 we have to pick up a tall

what's that??? thought I heard a fly buzzing around... Better go get the ole fly swatter.....

Instead of coming on here and bleating rubbish looking to start a riot why don't you put yr money where yr mouth is on who will be first to win a flag next mfc or the filth....

End of story hey....

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
