Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Lovett to St Kilda

Pretty good trade. Particularly for the dons, who now have 10 and 16. That's a pretty solid position. I had hoped they wouldn't pick up two players in the top 20, as I reckon making the finals was a big false dawn for them. Also, they could take talls...

I guess if they weren't before they are now out of the Burgoyne equation.

hey know its only my first post, maybe i dont have a right to making replys or anything, haha

but i wouldnt be too suprised if essendon use pick 16 as part of a burgoyne trade, considering if i was andrew lovett the last place i would want to be is port

(remember chad cornes and brogan giving him hell over there last year)

if essendon were willing to give up their 1st rounder and lovett, their first rounder and pick 16 is essentially the same deal for them, only lovett is at st kilda

Yeah mate, that is a fair point. My pov was that Port are after good experienced players not just picks but at the end of the day if they got picks 10 and 16 from the Bombers they could always trade either of those picks for another player. Gotta love trade week.

Essendon are massive winners. Not that St Kilda isn't, but Essendon's 2009 ends up with them playing finals and getting two picks inside the top 16. To me that's a great year for Essendon.

As for St Kilda, well, like Hawthorn, it's about a premiership in 2010 for them. Lovett could take Dempster, Milne, Schneider or Ball's spot in their GF and improve it, so that's a win for them.

I am Hoping either Ball or Brian Lake get through to the PSD, that is where we can make a quick killing.

Can't see either of these - nor Burgoyne nor Jolly - in the PSD. Probably just Fev.

This is a pretty good deal all round.

Essendon would be thrilled to secure pick 16, and Lovett is the exact type of player the Saints need- besides Montagna, they have very little midfield pace and his ability to break the lines will add another string to an already long St Kilda bow. Also has the versatility to play as a defensive, goal-kicking forward, and you would assume the type of environment that Lyon has established at St Kilda could only help a player with Lovett's baggage.

Both teams have done pretty well with this one. Wouldn't be surprised if Lovett is the Saints missing link.

This trade will lead to more activity in trade week. Consider Essendon and St Kilda major players now, as Ball is certain to be shifted, and Essendon will certainly make a bigger play for Burgoyne.

They are just getting started. Once/If Burgoyne moves, I expect the dees to be involved in moving a player or two to improve their draft positions.

The bumbers would also be well positioned to go after Fev if they want him to replace Lloyd and Lucas.

Tactically this is a very bad outcome for us ... just have a feeling in my guts we will find out why over the next few days then rubbed in further on draft day.

elaborate?

Because the bumbers are also likely to be after a KPF in the draft and have a pick just before ours. They may take the player we were after at 11 with 10. Same again at 16 before our pick 18. The dogs may also do the same with 15. If we could turn 18 into 14 or below it would be ideal...but I dont think we can

Improve on picks 34,51.

With Jamar staying put, Buckley & Bell are the other two left that have interest from other clubs. Do you think we can improve on draft positions with these players?

IMO, 1,2,11,18 are a lock.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
