  1. Oh crap really? Do you think jetstar will refund my flight?
  2. I think we can assuming Frawley plays and we have at least another forward target. Who would you play on Wingard? The kids a freak
  3. Don't know if this is the right thread to post this on but I have found it annoying, after the Carlton and Adelaide wins, the media has been all about how bad those two teams were and not about how much we are improving under Roos'. It will be interesting to see what all the Footy programs focus on tonight, us or Richmond. I think we have proven we could be a top 7 to 10 team. If we were playing the football we are now against St Kilda & GWS, we could have been in the 8. Admittedly, we have had a fairly good draw, not having played a top 4 team yet.
  4. Scott Gullan from The HUN wrote a small piece in The Score that "The resurrection of Tom Hawkins is being monitored by a rival club, which has a prized asset struggling big-time with a back injury similar to that which cruelled the Cat's 2013 season" I'm assuming he is talking about Hogan
  5. I was actually considering putting $100 on a win at 7-1, but I saw the line aswell and I think thats great value.
  6. Can't Tippett sign for 1 year if GWS wants him? Wouldn't work for him if he had a dud year or did a knee though.
  7. What we just did? We gained 3 top 10 draft picks (pick 4, Viney & Hogan 2013) Gained a top 20 player in Dom Barry Got rid of soft players, Martin, Morton who didnt play a single good game in the worst team of 2012 and who most supporters constantly get frustrated with, especially in the case of Morton. Got rid of soft minded players in Moloney Got rid of Gysberts who hardly played in 2012, who the coach obviously doesnt like. Got support up forward & in leadering for Mitch Clark who I doubt will be 100% next year in Moneyball players Dawes, Byrnes & Rodan Got crap late draft picks that we will use to upgrade players like Magner, Couch & Nicholson and pass on the rest. More to come this year and next year.....delisting players like Bate, Petterd, Jetta, Bennell, Lynden Dunn, Davey & probably trading out a talented but stupid player like Sylvia if he has currency
  8. he'll definitely be our uncontracted player that ends up at gold coast (if they want him)...knowing our luck, he'll show something next year or ricky petterd. both qland boys
  9. Id swap 11 for Ball. if fit, he could play 100 games for the club. Is a leader and hard at it. Straight swap for Brock, who left us remember. While 1 & 2 should be at least 150-250 game players. In my opinion 11 and 18 are much more speculative.
  10. Makes pick 11 for Brock Mclean look even better. This bloke has kicked 93 goals in 88 games.
  11. A poster on demonology said he heaqrd the following: Jolly to Pies rusling or Dawes to Demons Pia & Brad to Swans? Any thoughts on losing Brad or Pia? Personally dont know much about Dawes, but Rusling was meant to be the great white hope for pies, but has been decimated by shoulder injuries........cant be worse than Miller though surely? Brad seems like an impressive person and leader, but just doesnt dominate games.
  12. Brock definitely went along with the tanking and understood the clubs position. He sat next to one of my best mates at the Presidents lunch against Richmond and was cheering for Jordan McMahon to get the goal. Good luck to him.....ie..dont break a leg.......but dont win a premiership either
  13. My cousins are good mates with Fev in a footy sense....get into the rooms after games and attend a few functions....Fev doesnt like Ratten...also said Judd's clean guy persona is all for the media, but when he's on the [censored] he's no cleanskin either.......also said Juddy's best mates are Cousin's, Gardiner and Fev himself...so if true he keeps good company....(this was about 10 months ago)....Fev also went onto say something funny about the fiance of an australian cricketer which i found quite amusing...but wont repeat on here might get some more fev gossip tomorrow as they are going to the carlton b and f
  14. Yeah definitely tanked, embarrassed to admit I was barracking for Richmond....feel sorry for the players though. Interesting to note that Bailey walked out of the box with 20 seconds left when we were infront, maybe he didnt want ne1 to see him pull whats left of his hair out if we won..... we were robbed though, McMahon definitely took that mark after the siren other than tanking, does anyone know why Sylvia wasnt picked? Not good for moral if the players think the coach is tanking
  15. They both have birds as mascots and Chris Judd didnt want to play for both of them.......
  16. I think he should go on for at least another year. But if he didnt, there is the question of who would be our next captain. Brock seems to be a favourite, but doesnt get on the park enough. Brad Miller was touted as a future leader a few years ago, but doesnt produce anything on the field. Then there's guys like Robbo, Cam Bruce and Brad Green and maybe Jeff White, but none of them are really long term options. Whats the word on the new guys around the club like Jones, Bartram, Pettard, Newton, Bate etc regarding there leadership potential? Obviously they are not candidates, but does anyone know how highly they are regarded in the leadership area?
  17. I dont really know what his current status at West Coast is. I'm assuming if he gets to fitness they will keep him. But if he does get to full fitness and they dont decide to keep him, does anyone think he would be worth a late pick in the national draft or in the preseason? He is still young and knows where the goals are.
  18. Tigers should take him as a replacement for Kent Kingsley
  19. 1. Personally, I dont mind seeing a few of the boys getting into post season fights, as long as they arent starting them or involve woman. 2. Getting Judd would have been great. But at what cost? 3. Pick 14 is great value for a 28 year old midfielder with teh credentials he's built up over 10 years. You cant seriously think he was worth much more? Pick 14 could play reserves or 300 games......so could Kreuzer or pick 90. We will only know in 10 years time. 4. Miller probably should have been traded, but I'm happy for Bailey to give him ONE year to turn it around. Someone needs to teach him how to kick. 5. Meesen could be useless. We will find out. But I'd rather keep pick 3 for an unhappy uncontracted player.
  20. Personally I'd hate to see my favourite players leave the club for money or better opportunites, but on the flip side, I'd love if we were able to woo a Judd without having to trade half our list. I know there would be a lot less "loyalty", but do you think it would compromise the eveness of the competition, if a salary cap was still in place? Or do you think the majority of good players from clubs with smaller fan bases and/or with less success would all want to play for scum like Collingwood and Essendon?
  21. Haha....Point taken...although Carlton and Denis Pagan might have in that year he recruited those duds....(or years)
  22. My mistake, but we did get Heffernan that year. However, am I the only one that thinks Daniel Bell is slightly overrated by our supporters? Reminds me a bit of Brent Grgic. High draft pick etc, but never really has set the world on fire. I do concede he will be better than Grgic though.
  23. Dont know the guy so cant back you up on the tool claim. But went to school with Ivan Maric and he's not that good. (Neither was I btw). So if Meesen cant get a game ahead of him, we are in trouble. Just goes to show that players from other teams, especially scum like Adelaide, arent always the answer.
  24. Woey never quite handled the pressure of winning the Brownlow. Had an awesome 2000, but wasnt the same after. Did nothing for Collingwood. We got Heffernen as a replacement who also did nothing. Overall, I suppose we lost out as we only ended up with [censored] off supporters. Noone blames Travis for the team's mediocrity. He is just one of many constants in a mediocre team. I bet if Pick 14 plays in a Premiership team in the next 10 years you wont be too upset about Travis Johnstone. Remember, you have to give a little bit to get a little bit. We threw away a whole season a couple of years back and got Sylvia and Brock out of it. If we got Judd, we would have lost a host of favourites to different clubs starting with Robbo and TJ. But I bet you wouldnt be too upset watching Judd bursting through a pack and kicking it down Newton's throat. Time to stop being sentimental and start winning flags. Get players out of there comfort zones a bit and shake em up. Get rid of a few good players so that everyone is fighting to stay in the team.
  25. Although, I totally agree with his delisting, and think it was at least 3 years overdue (i acknowledge he got the best out of himself however), why was he delisted and not offered for trade? I know he gained some respect in the media and may have been a tagging option for another club. I thought maybe we could have received something for him (and another player) or at least tried to help him find a new club. Or dont you think a club would have coughed anything up for him or are happy to wait for the draft?
