Bell and Miller on the Dees list with Charman rumoured to be coming to us

Leroy Jetta could b a good pick up though

It said that Melb should go after Charman, which is quite different to your suggestion.

Charman is 28 next year. Id rather stick with Meesen, Spencer and Jamar.

Also, didnt Andrew Walker re-sign with Carlton last week? Yet they list him as still on the trade table.

There is some genuine comedy in this article. This gem on Melbourne's willingness to trade Brad Miller took the cake: "Melbourne will drive a hard bargain given their dearth of tall forwards but the Swans' second-round selection could sway them, even though the draft pool is thin." What's their second round pick - 21? Hmm, I think I could be swayed...

As for the Charman snippet, I'm not sure why the writers are suggesting Melbourne 'should' go after him. I'd prefer they stick to reporting facts or even rumours doing the rounds than give their zany opinions.

They did trade pick 19 to the Bombers for Teddy Richards. Anything is possible. Charman if he came cheap and his body is sound would be worth a look.

sounds too good to be true

Just goes to show how others rate our players - yet Melbourne supporters dont rate their own.

ill rate Brad for you - hard working yes, great mark : chest, overhead on the lead, yeah ill pay that, contested mark pack situation, rarely finds himself in that situation , would have to say not great. in front of goal any distance any angle ( except goal square) disgraceful, absolute disgrace. been in system long enough to figure his action out. the general theme is take a tall forward with pick 11. next year could be Aussie Panos LJ , HF Sylvia Watts Bate.

if there is an injury we have Martin, PJ or pick 18 to fill in. the club could be selfish and keep him as a backup who will spend the year in the two`s, and before you tell me about a shallow draft , ill take an untried kid over a player who clearly cant take the next step. Miller has been given plenty of chances

Well, good luck with that.

Id jump at the offer of pic num 22 for Miller, that would give us 1,2 11,18,22.No matter what anyone says about this draft being thin i still think the top 20-30 will all be pretty good before dropping off.Maybe then we could off load 18 or 22 for Everitt, whichever Dogs would take. Also the reason they re-signed Walker was cos now they can do a trade & he cant just go in PSD,so Carlton still get something for him.I think there could even be a half decent player that we can take in PSD.Should be a huge Draft for us me thinks

I love that we have a lot of high picks, but I am sick of the fact some people want more. You just can't get rid of the whole team for draft picks. Lets not forget that draft picks don't work like they do in fifa games. They don't just get better each year and eventually turn into stars. We will have a lot more young players down at Melbourne this year and we have to find space to get games into them, not to mention Blease and Strauss from last year.

Miller for 21 or whatever seems fair enough. Maybe a change of scenery would do him some good.

If a best 22 player is chopped then that frees a space for one of the youngsters...

i'd want a late first round pick for him. maybe the saints pick 16

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

best laugh ive had in ages ;)

Saints wouldnt part with pick 160 for poor ol' Miller, no-one would.. he'd have been gone years ago at any other club.

Bell in the bargain bin? Means that he is actually rated as a player.

Miller to Swans? Makes sense for a second rounder in a "thin draft", but doubtful.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
