6 wins minimum. LOTS of close games though...

Could snaffle as many as ten.

What's more important though is to consider that eyes will be on Dean. The improvement HAS to be seen... and obviously it really does require a specific set of requirements.

If he plays all teenagers, then expect a lot more of what we saw this year. If he allows the 23ish guys to play 22 games, then maybe a bit more.

Don't kid yourselves though. We haven't even recruited the last 3rd of our core yet. There's a LOT more work to do just yet.

We can move the ball beautifully when we TRY.

That should read... when we're GIVEN ROOM.

True enough though. For those handful of quarters, many of the coming in the last 8 rounds, we looked EASILY like a top 8 side with our movement.

I think while there's a flag up for grabs we'll see a bit of roughness in the first half of the season. And like this year, when things settle and players tire a bit, we'll see the younger guys come to the fore, and sneak perhaps 3 in a row?

I'm pumped. I'm more pumped about this coming year than I was going into 2007 (when everyone thought we were a flag chance).

Wow that's optimistic :o Maybe for 2011.

We can't play interstate. We can't play at Etihad Stadium. We've won just 5 games between 2007-09 against VIC clubs.

6 or 7 wins seems about right.

Did you actually read my post?

If we win less than 8 Bailey's arse will be on the line. I think at least 8 to 10 wins is realistic providing we are not hard hit by injuries.

We are definately on the improve but at the moment with some of our young players we look good when given space. When we start striging wins together the space will be cut down and we will be foound out purely because our players are too skinny. One Pre-Season will not fix this so I am tipping 6 wins hopefully 1 or 2 more but until our skinny players bulk up we wont be a force. That said I am very confident of our players being able to do this and look forward to the mighty dees up and at em again.

Being realistic I'd say probably 9-10th. Still a lot of development to go, but if we finish anything lower than that it will be quite a disappointment. If we just sneak into the 8, then even better. We can get some finals experience into the young blokes. However, I think we will just miss out.

I'm tipping 10 wins, we'll catch a lot of teams by suprise. Oh how I'd love to play Essendon round 1 and win...

Sucks we have to wait 6 months, but at least it cant be spent bulking up the kids.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
