Although we are $9 longshots,i think we are a real chance today,IF we all come to play.

Let's give Brucey a great and memorable win in his 200th.

FWIW,i've taken those $9 odds.

Yeah you should have. Against Decent Opposition we have no mid field. It's too obvious.

I agree, time to trade Brock while we can still get something for him.

So you have gone from thinking we have a good enough team to beat Geelong at the cattery to wanting to trade Brock McLean?

The two hours of footy I saw wasn't that bad.

Reality people - we only beat two interstate sides on the G, who had their best players out (Cox and Kerr) or out of form (Cornes, Tredrea, Burgoyne, and Pearce).

Our only possible wins to finish the year will be against Richmond and Fremantle. Let's hope one of them turns up on the day and we finish on 4 wins.

Your opinion, BUT there is no way MFC will trade Brock Mclean.

Very good player who will have a great season next year when he has a full pre-season. His clearance stats this year have been very impressive.

Possible future captain and works well in the media. He has shown his commitment to MFC with his generous donation to the club.

Lets no forget Brock is still young and is a few years off his best footy. Patience please.

Since i saw Brock's debut against Freo at Subi in 2004,he has played less than 10 outstanding games and i mean OUTSTANDING,he's been mostly average at best.He doesn't work hard enough between contests when he doesn't have the ball.In the next few weeks, let's see how long he can run with Cousins and Judd, that's how hard the top mids work,he wouldn't keep up and Cousins is 6 years older.

Yes,he's been injured a lot but is he much worth to us with the amount of time he's fully fit.

And captaincy, forget it.Others have had much better seasons in the last 6 years since Brock's debut.

You don't reward mediocrity.Anyone who knows anything about AFL will tell you Brock has has 6 mediocre seasons at best as well as many off field indescretions.

Brock was fantastic in 2006. So many games he was influential in the midfield and was able to kick a couple a game.

Then in round 1 2007 after a solid opening qtr he did his ankle.

I have no doubt injuries have curtailed his career at the moment.

Needs to play well against good teams, not just against crap interstate teams at the G.

We don't need him now or in the future.Soon our midfield will consist of:

Possibly 2 of Scully,Trengove or Morabito and

Blease

Jones

Sylvia

Grimes

Jetta...recruited as a mid and will get his chance

Strauss

And Davey,Green and Bruce can rotate through there.

Trade Brock while we can get something for him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
