Cam Bruce talks about the PP

Cameron Bruce just said on SEN that the players couldn't care less about the PP and would rather win every game possible because it will take 5 years for any 18 y.o. kid to peak and by that time a lot of guys will be retired,so it's win at all costs.

A win this week would be great for Brucey's 200th ;)

Very greedy comments from the Vice Captain.

Cant wait for him to retire, so we can play some real football.

In 5 years time Watts, Morton, Scully, Grimes etc.. will all be peaking, and Bruce will be long gone.

honestly...what else could or would he say ??

Keep in mind the media is always fed Footy-speak... whether its the one week at a time or some other cliche. Quite frankly I really couldnt give a flying... what Bruce says or thinks. He wont be holding up the cup..Better thinkers and more accomplished players will.

You want a champion of our club, who has been in outstanding form in the last few weeks, to retire?

if he's too silly to see the bigger picture and temper his comments.. yeah !!

I do.

All he does it pick up cheap kicks.

None of his disposals are damaging and if there's not a free player he often kicks it to disadvantage.

I'd rather see Newton playing.

Bruce was our best player last year and in the top 3 this year!!!

Another stupid ym comment

I just hope there just trying to cover it up to make people think we wouldnt tank.

Bruce was our best player

enough said.. says it all.. yesterdays man

Our future is of tomorrows.. something he seems to be failing to understand. Shame..he could be part of it.. but he has to know why. Might be that bridge too far perhaps !!

Player's don't tank.

Whitnall was that crap, guys, he didn't deliberately miss, he, by the end, was an awful football player.

Brucey, or any other player, wouldn't say anything else. Nor should they, they should never be asked to compromise when it comes to the 2 hours they put on the jumper.

It's up to Bailey and Connolly. They can do what has to be done. Will they?

We will see on August the 2nd, the worst day of my life...

The day I go to the footy and hope the Demons, my raison detre, lose...

I wonder if 'Checker' Hughes thought we needed to be called the Demons for times like this - when you need to be intimidating, ruthless, and uncompromising - to do what needs to be done.

And not be named after a flower...

Player's don't tank.

I was about to post the same. And 28 year old players won't take the long sighted view that supporters will either.

Understandably.

The OP is a kid I think. And good on him. I'd hate to think that I would agree with tanking at age 20.

In 20 years time with tonnes of heartache under his belt and a still barren cupboard he may have a different view.

I'll tell you one thing Brucey. I'd suggest that the likes of Watts, Grimes, Morton, Petterd and co. would swap you for Tom Scully and pick 2 in a heartbeat.

The club doesn't need you to tank, the coaches will have you on the pine when required. Enjoy retirement Cam.

Agree with all.

Not sure how many of you actually listened to the interview, because if you did your posts wouldn't be so bitter. Bruce spoke really well and the focus was on his 200 game career. He did say from a selfish perspective he wants to end his playing career winning games. He's competative and knows no other passion.

Good luck this weekend Cam.

Don't let him get at you Jack7. YM is sadly so out of touch with his biased comments. Think he's trying to be suspended again! He's building up to it.

There is so much crap getting posted on these forums is starting to make me sick.

One of our best players of the last decade is playing his 200th this weekend and all people can do is get on here and rubbish him over the fact he says on live radio that he wants to win games??????

I am very much over all the PP talk and will cop whatever comes our way on the chin. I want Scully like everyone else, but if we win too many games and lose a pick then so be it!

Welcome to Y-M s "Country Members" club.

With a little more effort you will be able to achieve ANKLES status like y-m.

With your outstanding interlect Iam sure you will be able to understand the hidden message!!!!

Read what he said CAREFULLY! He said the PLAYERS couldn't care less abut the PP. It was not just his PERSONAL opinion. Played competitive sport have you? You went out to each game to lose? I bet you didn't. If you did you would be 'unusual' to put it mildly.

Beautifully put Jerry. You are a person with some grey matter.

Right you are rpfc. The 18 players you send out on the field will do their utmost to win. Players don't tank, they are to competitive in nature to do such a thing. It's all about the match day committee and Bails. Of the 31,000 members of this club, it would be a 20:10 split in terms of those in favor of 'list managing' to those against such a move. Either way there will be quite a few annoyed people come years end through the action the MFC have chosen to take.

If common sense is to provail, then one would always chose the lesser of two evils (in this case, only having the 10k disappointed members as opposed to 20k who would be calling for blood).

I wish we could fast-forward to the end of the year. Im sick of all this Priority pick crap that will undoubtabley dominate the board for the next 7 weeks.

Congratulations!!!

Well done!!!

Another member of the club!!!!

I am sure your excellent spelling will enable you to understand your status.

Another on tte way to being an ANKLES member!!!

There is no way Bruce deserves the kind of crap like YM dishes out when people talk about him, he's been a fantastic servant of the club and is still a valuable asset to the team. As for his comments saying the players won't be tanking and will try to win every game left in the season, what the hell do you expect him to say? Players don't tank, coaches use "list management" to gain draft picks. I hope the boys put in a strong performance to mark his 200th game.

Crongrats, Cameron.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
