Scully is the first pick whether it's the Dees, Freo, or Wagga Wagga thirds.

Some stupid people post on here.

You take Freo for fools. There selection of Hill shows they now know how to spot real talent.

They got slaughtered in the midfield. If they get first pick, why wouldn't they take the head and shoulders best footballer available?

No decision is beyond the Fremantle Football Club, Rhino.

I think last night was Mark Harvey's death sentence. The derby is going to be fascinating... they both can't lose... West coast winning is good for us, Freo replacing their coach could be just as good.

Make no mistake about it.............without intervention from the coaching dept, this team will win more than 5 games this year, and we will lose the number 1 pick!

The work rate is back up from the team, and the difference now is, they have belief!

Will be a very interesting run home!

Yep, all of that and don't underestimate the power of self-interest. I believe it was Peter Costello who said "In a two-horse race always back self -interest. At least you know it's trying!" A lot of our blokes are playing for their careers - they quite rightly couldn't give a bugger about what might best get better players to the club! Intervention from the FD is the only thing which will ensure we keep to the 4 wins!

Agree. Its our best outcome.

We will need more than that!

Yes we will. I actually thought the coaches had a real crack at losing today but Port are just that ordinary they couldn't get over us. On today's form I thought we were 8 goals better than Port, we won by less than 2. I'm confident Scully's ours. I think our FD knows the importance of this draft.

I dont think the MFC coaches did that today. But what can you do when the opposition's senior list squibs it?

Either way, the footy dept knows they are safe for next year, but would also be aware that if they bring a kid like Scully into the club next season, he will help us improve in his first season, and subsequently improve their chances of sticking around longer as well!

We will know what they are thinking in the next few weeks.

If we get more than 4 wins this year then the Footy Dept should be sacked. They would be far from safe.

With Scully out of our reach, who should we take?

Trengrove the obvious one if we get pick 2.

If we blow the PP we might not get the first pick until pick 5.

Scully's ours, and yes Trengove does look good. Butcher will be looked at, as will Morabito

Glad to see someone thinking positive.

Should Scully not become a Dee, I liked Morabito - Go home factor is big though. Butcher looked overawed at the Championships and our need for a KPF is less after drafting Watts. Trengrove looked good and is the obvious second choice.

Why is it big?

Is it big for Cale Morton..? Or Jetta or Bennell? Was it for Jared Rivers?

I don't agree with this assessment.

I think its a false consideration invented by the football media so they have something else to speculate on when its a slow news day.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
