Umpires = Disgusting

SENIOR players turning the ball over time and time again (we're the ones in the red, ladies!) = Terrible

Dwayne Russell = Press Mute

Worst display of umpiring i've seen in a very long time.

And i'm positive Dwayne Russell and Alistair Lynch must secretly barrack for St.Kilda; that or just anti-Melbourne.

Terrible X 3

I think my TV is lucky there isn't a VB stubbie right in the guts of it.

By the sound of it, I'm glad I dont have foxtel and didnt have to listen to DW. Though, listening to the MMM QLD broadcast was not that flash either.

Rate from 1 to 3:

1 = Worst

2 = Disgusting

3 = Terrible

You should know by now NEVER to digest anything from Foxtel commentary. They are down right just terrible.

However, I did hear one D.Russell saying, "1st is playing last, but you would never know it, judging by the way the demons are playing".

Ill give him a point for that at least.

Just to highlight how much Dwayne Russell clearly hates Melbourne.

At one point he mentioned that Melbourne had won six of nine last quarters this, but this was because Melbourne were often out of the game by half time* and the opposition had stopped trying.

However, after scanning the records I found that there are only three games where Melbourne were in any real trouble at half time, but even then no game was over by then.

I'm not here to deny that Melbourne have been poor this year, but he clearly lied to suit his agenda.

*He mentioned this same statistic a second time, only this time he said three-quarter time instead of half-time after realising his own stupidity.

I'm totally desensitised to Dwayne. He's easily the worst caller in the business, and I've grown so used to his nonsense that I just stopped hearing it some time ago.

2 and 2 for the others.

Yeah but he also said at one stage " Ray runs toward the 50, in pursuit is Jones, Ray looks behind to see who it is and kicks the goal and embarrasses him. Sorry guys could you please explain WHAT IS THAT ?

It really is sad that one man hates a club so much, did a Dees supporter hang shyt on you at school?

News flash Dwayne.....

IN FIFTY YEARS 2009 SEASON WILL BE FORGOTTEN, AND HOPEFULLY YOUR COMMENTARY WILL BE TOO.

You need to be sacked, poor, poor man

Yeah, it's no secret Dwayne Russell dislikes Melbourne. He gave me the shits tonight, I'll tell you. There seem to be quite a few going around at the moment.

The double was that the worst of Duh-wayne was the way he apologised for the umpires, as in Bate is ridden in the back across the boundary line - a clear infringement - and Duh-wayne justifies the lack of a free by saying he "played for it". Twice he accused Davey of "playing for it" yet ignored Reiwoldt looking to the umpires for hand outs and the soft gives to Kosi.

As for the umpires - evening up their stats in the last quarter with one dodgy free to Bate and having a Jamar mark counted as a free was as lame as it gets. And calling play on to 20 metre kickins? Who is maggot number five? I've got some land I want to sell him.

I heard that in a highlights package on the 5th quarter last night. That was just crap.

Whilst I'm glad I didn't have to listen to DR, the 774 commentators weren't that great either. There were plenty of players I hardly heard last night who racked up disposals (Geary is one of them). Jamar got little credit for the ruckwork, PJ got more. Rivers got more negatives about his kicking than positives.

Can we include Aaron Lord in this thread - what has he got against MFC

We had 2 free kicks in the first 2 and a half quarters, they had 12.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
