Yes. He's capable of a lot more than what he has shown in recent weeks, and today showed some good signs.

I know he's had a poor year so far, but today he wasn't bad. Definitely not a stinker like recent weeks.

Actually, i thought he played quite well. Maybe didn't do quite enough, but what he did was positive. His ball use was tidy, kicked a nice goal and was competitive in the ruck. He looked sharp in the first quarter, but never really managed to get totally into the game after that. Spent a lot of time on the bench, but still got as much of the ball, and more hitouts, than Meesen.

I've been pleased with Meesen in that he hasn't been anywhere near as bad as we thought he might be (verging on a joke pre-season), but let's be honest, he hasn't been all that good. Not the answer to our #1 ruck woes, thats for sure. Our rucks were pretty comprhensively beaten by Blake today, but of the two i'd have thought PJ was the more competitive. (Meesen got just 5 hitouts, playing as our #1 ruck option today. He would have spent at least 70% game time on the ball. Blake had 29 for the Cats. Simply not good enough.)

Shocking thread IMO. Some one always needs to find a scapegoat.

Johnsons problem is that for a man of his size, he has very little physical presence. He simply doesn't impose himself.

He is soon to be 25. Has now played around 50 games. It is questionable whether he will be improving much from here on out.

I've been a fan of Jonno. Had some good games last year. But this year has been disappointing.

I'm not sure where we are at with our ruck stocks. Mees is displaying some potential. But anyone who thinks Jamar's return is the answer is kidding themselves.

What's Spencer's status?

To all you paul johnson bashing morons get off his back he is a little bit injured and I dont see you out there playing afl. Also happens to be a top bloke and he played alright today which is more than I can say for the messiah Maric which most of you talked up.

He has had two shoulder injuries, one which required a reco. He will start doing it soon he needs to regain faith in his shoulder and there a lot of players his size softer than him.

Not really calling him 'soft', if by soft you mean he lacks courage. I wouldn't say he lacks courage. But he just needs to do more with his size.

And yes, there are players softer than him. Agreed.

PJ needs to find a niche if he wants a lengthy career in the AFL.

He's not a '#1' ruck and if he wants to hold down a '#2 ruck' spot in a decent side he needs to add another string or two to his bow.

Playing forward seems the obvious option but he hasn't done enough there when he's been given the opportunity.

Fortunately for him, our ruck stocks are pretty poor atm.

Why bother posting this thread then?

You said Johnson is crap, and have questioned whether he should be "allowed" to play AFL.

What kind of response did you expect?

Call me crazy but I thought he was good yesterday as well.

Me and doggo were quite pleased with the way he started the game, admittedly probably tapered off a bit but it was a far cry from his performance the week before.

No problems with Johnson at this stage.

Cooko this is one of the most stupid threads I have come across since being on here!

Just get off Johnson's back. I don't think he did too badly today, his delivery was good and he also kicked a goal...but he could kick 10 and people like you would still find something to pick on him about. Besides the fact we are in round 6, not 16...give it a rest.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
