Just watching the replay on the net, and the maturity that Davey is showing is fantasict. If you asked me to suggest Davey as captain material at the start of the year, You would have to be dreaming. He was inperational around the ground, started and created so many opportunities, and if you watch him at 1/2 time, he is encouraging the troops. Boy, if the flash continues like this, he could be a fantasic long term captain!

As I just posted on the captain topic

He's in career best form what a master stroke playing him more down back. Does he ever miss a target?

It is isn't it, not really 'out there', fairly obvious really, but, gutsy determined knowing Coaching, I think.

I'm very happy with the coaching dept', & footy dept's these days...

Another one where DB's influence is not being recognised, yes Davey is flying at the moment, but DB left him out of the side towards the end of last season in the hope of shaking off the niggling injuries he has had for last two years......came back looking a milliion dollars, hardly misses a beat..........DB now knows he can use him in exactly the role he has him in and he will be consistent each week.....easier to plan an actual game plan...........the understanding with his team mates is also getting better and better..........improvement is the big word..........as for Miller..........DB knows how to push his buttons.....has him playing exactly the way we want him to 100% giving the defence hell.........and lifting his teamates and dragging them along with them.....he has also got a protege playing alongside leanring all the time who has a bit more skill but the same grunt....Petterd.............in DB we trust

The were really talking up his kick from just behind centre to Jetta in the 3rd on "On The Couch" (FOX) last night, and with good reason. Tony Greig would have described it as going like a tracer bullet. I'm so impressed with Davey's footskills. I can't think of many targets he's missed this year.

*Of course Healy thought that the kick went to Wonaeamirri but what do you expect from him?

Yeah, the guy probably thinks they all look the same.

Not only has Davey's form been fantastic, but it seems he's being used really effectively. He's taking loads of handballs from half back and penetrates with 10 yard bursts to get us out of defense. He's also taking kick-ins at the crucial stages - the one today where he had nothing ahead, kicked to himself, layed off a 1-2 and got us out of the 50 was brilliant. Most importantly, his disposal skills are outstanding - he never misses a target. He was the one on the ground today who looked like a real class player. To me he is by far our most important player and I love seeing the impact he's making in the first few rounds. Though I think he needs a new nickname - Flash is beneath him now.

Easily Our best player at the moment. He has been fantastic this year playing the loose man in defence racking up the disposals and also kicking a goal against the roos and another against the tiges. If fit for all 22 games will win the best and fairest easily if he keeps going at this rate.

Ridiculous Idea! Flash is his name. Having a great season, i think DB is using him so creatively for the Team. With "Flash" playing well on the MCG we can win some games. "Flash" 40 metre pass to Jack Watts later in the year will get the Stands Rocking. I wait.

That will just make him a one dimensional player, he's got to learn to adapt or he's no use to us, the other small kids will soon pass him by.

I like the role he's playing for us ATM, when we get someone like Grimes or Strauss up & burning, the flash may get a new role across the midfield or maybe grow into an onballer.

He really has gone backwards since his first couple of seasons.

He was better as a rookie than he is now.

No way. Davey has taken a step forward this year, not to mention he has been arguably our best player in all our four games. His 2008 season was slightly interrupted and a bit out of form but now he is right back in the thick of it.

I picked him at the start of the year for the B&F, so far it's a pretty good prediction i reckon! It was interesting watching his reaction to kicking that goal v Tigers, i think he misses getting those opportunities.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
