Can't believe there are a stack of threads here that say we will have 4 wins with an average losing margin of around 40 points, but that our defence will improve!! Does not make sense... I am hoping for 10 wins. the team has been training since october. The Board even Longer. We must improve and not accept loss. Our new Sponsors will weant Good exposure..

And the board is training hard!

We're crap, and thankfully for Bailey and the players, most of us our realists.

4-7 wins is where we will be i'm afraid.

And the reason why most posters say 4 wins instead of 7 is because they would prefer 4 wins to 7 wins as it will get us 2 picks in the top two or three in the last uncompromised draft.

The rules have made us negative...

That will Just give us another crap Sunday fixture in 2010 Hidden away on Foxtel. This club can ill afford that. We are not crap, there is Talent in this side, depends on whether the players are prepared to show it, or continue to make excuses.

A very entertaining post Jaded.

But considering the inexperience of our developing list and the experimentation DB will employ this year I reckon:

3/4 wins, most losses by 30 points or under, ('competitive'), a couple of close ones and at least 3 thumpings depending on our injury list.

I'm not praying for a bad year, I just think it's reality given where we're at.

The draft picks will be a bonus for a team with that dreaded word 'potential'.

Wow! I had forgotten this one! How things change in 5 months, even in my own head!

I will say one thing though. When i wrote those comments we were without any major sponsors, & i didn't think we could afford the "bottom out"

That's some crystal ball there Bob, I particularly like the "experimentation" part.

Close on the wins, no idea about the win/loss av margins, not bad on Petterd for break out year

Think I was jibbed on Cheney as he was dropped when I did not think he should have been.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
