I, Big Danny G of the TalkingCarlton forum can confidently predict that i will be BOG and the reason why TalkingCarlton will smash you demons by 10+ goals.

My possy count will be 30+, disposal efficiency of 90+, and 5+ goals. You will be golf clapping my brilliance as the ball sails over your heads.

Good luck guys

Cribbes would've been a liability. 7 feet up, just more time for me to read the ball as it comes down my throat. Could've been devastating. Great first up move by the selection committee.

majority of the leadership group, including both coaches, have already indorsed this contest and this date...

we will be playing talkingcarlton on Sunday, November 2 at 2pm...

the venue will be glenferrie oval if gosch's park is not available...

I have sent emails to past players and supporters...

new players should know they are most welcome... :)

the bench rotates constantly and everyone gets as much game time as they want (or can stand)...

new supporters should know the same (we can never get enough extra water delivered to the venue at this time of the year)...

with exams looming, this is a good time for talkingcarlton to try to ambush us... <_<

perhaps they have underestimated the pent-up anger and frustration we are still feeling over season 2008...

give us some positive "I will be there" posts now please...

Big Danny, I think i'm in love!

I'll take you down though, you'll be like a blonde, fun and easy.

But yeah, i'll happily take a wing. Been playing a bit of indoor lately, so should be good in 12 meter sprints...

All, with only a couple of weeks before kick off, we need committment, posts and complete dedication from each and every one of you. If you can play, confirm, if you are a maybe, keep this forum post as up to date as possible so we can get a true indication as to who is IN and who is OUT. We encourage all to bring other Melbourne supporters or even the occasional social football or recreational football players with them, or nominate them onto our playing list. All welcome. These are social games with a taste of fun footy flair. What we need now is committment from everyone. If you are unable to play, we encourage you to nominate and assist in other forms ie: drinkboys or drinkgirls, time keepers, goal and boundary umpires or even a photographer. What good is a day out if there aren't any photographs or very famous club song on video at the end of the day! These forum games make for a great day, and is our prime opportunity to put on the mighty RED and BLUE jumper and represent our great club.

All positions will be decided by the coaches, captain and/or the leadership group on the day.

Leadership Group, if I have left something out, please edit and post.

GO DEES.

There has been a request from resident demonland 'rollinson_65' on the TC forum for a member of our leadership group to come on here and tell of how many goals we're going to beat you guys. Now, as the spiritual leader of TalkingCarlton i've taken the duty upon myself.

Luckily i'm not one to make outlandish claims of how much we're going to win by, or how well some of players are going to perform. Instead i like to keep it realistic. I'm not going to put any expectations on any of the other boys.

Instead, i'll make my judgments on the basis that all demons are just like Dean Bailey. Bald, ugly, past it, and poofs.

I'll only make one promise that i can back up. That Big Danny G could beat 22 Dean Baileys by himself.

Brock On!

I heard a rumour that the talkingcarlton.com team is pretty much a bunch of Wayne Brittains, never has-beens with paedophile-esque grins who probably still can't tell the difference between rugby and AFL.

Confirm-Deny Danny?

Sorry mate, just a rumour. But [censored] with a "character" (note the mocking quotation marks) like Dean Bailey leading such an "enigmatic, exciting" (note the mocking quotation marks) "football team" (note the mocking quotation marks) i really struggled to find words that i could make fun of your team with.

Seriously though, and i'm not even joking, as demon supporters you can't possibly expect to win anything let alone a forum footy game. I'm really pulling at straws but i can think of two positives for you guys. 1. That the game isn't very important so if you lose it doesn't really matter and 2. Again, that the game isn't important, meaning you guys might perform.

Good luck though, provide a contest.

Also a challenge to your coaching panel. Corral, or tackle me?

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
