then why did st kilda "nominate" or what is it they did to make the doggies take him today?

and why cant they still take him with a late pick?

Posted

I think what happens is a team nominates what they would pick him with, and if the club with the father son link doesn't beat it, that club then has to use that pick on the player

Posted

Any club can bid on a father son player. In Ayce (incidentally, why condemn a newborn to a lifetime of boganity with that name?) Cordy's case, St. Kilda bid with their first round selection, which meant that the Dogs had to use their next lowest pick on him to trump St. Kilda.

Fergerson should still be on our list. Cant believe we got rid of him.

I totally agree!

Blew me away when we de-listed him. I rated him and thought he was very capable of being in our back 6.

I was dumb founded with the de-listing of Daniel Ward aswell. That bloke tried his guts out and I thought was alot better than most on our list.

I put our bad year partially down to the loss of Doggie Brown and Daniel Ward. My first two picked every week for there passion and detrermination for the contest. We lost that! And now look at us! Gutless wonders who need a kick up the arse!

PJ is my first picked now! Love his game.

They had to be moved on, both couldn't hit the side of a barn door in the clear. Yes they were gutsy, determined and all those other great words we could use but at the end of the day if they qf stayed we'd continue to be in the mire for another couple of years.

Indeed!!! I think the true test of a players value is how many other clubs want them.

Rubbish! Brent Grgic too Geelong! What a win for us. They did'nt have a clue what they were getting into.

Grgic! You were terrible. Very!

Fair point. But what about when nobody wants you?

Yeah, I agree.

Can't believe we ditched Godders either.

Phil Read went three years too early.

Oh, and don't get me started on Grgic.

We're picking him up in the PSD this year!

I spoke to Dean Bailey on a train toady.

Nah, we'll face a tough choice then in the PSD....Grgic too....Connolly was on Big Footy last night

PS. What's a 'train toady?' Does that train leap the tracks?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
