Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

PJ to play...

News Flash for you Melbourne 777: PJ is out for the season champ. It was announced on Tuesday.

Last I heard, we were undecided as to whether PJ would play this week.

His surgery isn't until next week, and the injury is one that he can manage.

Although I read an article where Monaghan stated that PJ was done, I wouldn't be surprised if he played, given earlier comment from the Club.

"Paul Johnson will delay his season ending surgery for one extra week, and is set to line up this week against West Coast. Johnson was due to have hip surgery this week, but it was decided he should temporarily put that on hold, after it was clear that Jeff White would be forced to miss."

In: Mark Jamar, Brad Miller, Michael Newton, Daniel Bell.

Out: Lynden Dunn (ill), Chris Johnson (Inj-groin) , Jeff White (Inj – knee), Nathan Carroll (omitted)

Well that's just it hightower he is playing...they have brought him back in to play.

That is unusual, the article regarding Davey and Johnson is still current on the website, saying neither will play again in 2008.....Hmm <_<

Spencer? Meesen?

My understanding is that there's a cutoff point during the year for promoting rookies, so Spencer's out, and Meesen... well, less said the better at this point.

I guess the answer is Jamar rucks on his own.

Hmm. I don't like the sound of Jamar rucking on his own. Maybe Holland to get a recall for the sole purpose of being the 2nd ruckman?

Sorry High Tower you were saying....

I think now it's newsflash to you PJ IS PLAYING.

You've made your point, don't be a prat.

High Tower, stop responding to everything and contributing nothing of substance. Your profile says you're 34 years old. Get a job.

Lets hope PJ gets up this week. About the only bloke able to deliver the ball into the forward line with any aplomb and consistency. Which is damning (on everyone else) given he's 6'massive" and a backup ruckman.

If we win this by a comfortable margin, then manage to somehow beat Port Adelaide and the Hawks then smash the Eagles, who then go on to get belted by the Cats down at the Cattery, we could see the Dees against Richmond trying to lose by at least a set margin (i.e. must lose by at least 20 odd points)

That really would be an odd round 22! Though i can't see us beating Port

I was offended by remark hightower, considering I was in fact right...

Apologies for OFFENDING you Melb_777. You were right in hindsight, there simply was a change in plans by the club. The named side contradicted the previous report that PJ's season was over.

Don't take it to heart.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
