Adem Yze

Recommended Posts

I think this is his last year. He has gained alot of respect this year for his work ethic and his willingness to fight for a spot in the team, but there simply is not a place for him in the best 22 anymore.

A brilliant servant of the club, but the game has unfortuneately passed him by.

I think he will get one more chance to impress. If he does well he might just get one more year. The ball is in his court though.

even if he does impress he'll be gone at the end of the year...

we need to make room on our list for Aussie, Valenti, 1st rd pick, 2nd rd pick, 3rd rd pick, 4th rd pick, PSD pick and possibly a 1st rd priority pick.

That's at least 7 or 8 players who need to make way. Yze will have to be one of them. The only players who will be gone before him are David Neitz, Isaac Weetra and Ben Holland.

Adem will retire at the end of the year in my opinion.

I think he knows his time hascome.

However i just hope people dont think or remember him for his last few years.

we need to remember him for his forst 8 or so seasons where he was in our best players almost every week.

Where his skill, intelligence and leadership were so valuable.

I certainly was confident whenever he was near the ball when he was in his prime.

Definitely one of our best ever players.

Like the dinosaurs you adapt or become extinct.

Talent wise Yze could play for another 3 years. Unfortunately he seems incapable of adapting his game so he can continue playing.

Against Richmond he just got the ball & snapped for goal regardless of the situation instead of doing the team thing & kicking to advantage.

I thought Bailey had treated him very harshly but unfortunately when he got another chance he kept doing the same dumb things.

Bye bye Adem.

With his recent exclusion from the leadership group, i'd say its now more certain than ever that he will call it quits at seasons end.

I agree with the many good points that have been made here already about Yze, so i'll just say, the bottom line is he's not part of the future and it's difficult to imagine DB giving him an extra year, given the lack of game time he's recieved this year.

If he stays fit for the rest of the year and continues pushing for selection at Sandy, i don't see any reason why he couldn't play at least one more game late in the season, as a farewell to the Demon faithful who have watched him for 13 years.

He is a gun, but what good is it for the future of a club is a stalwart holds on to play another 25-30 games? We need to build a list, not only to get members, but to survive.

Love Yze, but the future has to take place now, we do not want to repeat what carlton did, and dwell at the bottom for 6 seasons. 2-3 seasons, then bang, finals! Wont happen if we give games to the nearly departed.

Deserves a better send off than to call it quits a season early, but the club has been good to him, it is his turn to put the club first.

Yeah, I think his footy isn't screaming out to keep him in the team. And at this stage if you're in your 30s and you're not playing BRILLIANTLY, even if you're playing WELL, you'll still get dropped. Happened to Jeff White...

The only factor that would mean he'd stay is the behind the scenes stuff. Both DB AND the players couldn't speak more highly of his efforts behind the scenes if they tried...

There may be a push for him to stay on and lead the young kids. And with another year in their young legs I reckon he may be able to frontrun again, and kick a few goals next year.

It depends on DB... Personally I hope the youth policy is persevered with completely. And I hope we see him off in the way he deserves.

DB asserted that both White and Jamar were performing at an average or worse level lately, and many other Demonland members will agree.

I think White's one possession in the second half vs Sydney is some evidence of him not playing well.

Fully agree, the club will ask him to retire, and I'd I think he will. Even if a club like Sydney show some interest, I get the feeling he would want to remain a one club player.

Has been a great player but still wont put his head over the ball. Not a good example for the kids. I hope Yoda is developing a tougher culture and i think he is.

Yep i agree

Great servant over the years, but will retire gracefully at the end of the year

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
