Dunn + Bode

I was WAY too close to the action to be able to tell who ANYONE was on unless they were in the pocket... and even then only for 2 quarters...

Did Dunn and Bode have jobs again today? I realise neither had much impact, which is why I reckon perhaps that was just because they were running with other players...

Anybody have better eyes than me?

Dunn was outstanding! Completely shut out Brisbane's most influential onballer.... Even when Black had space, he thought Dunn was close and completely stuffed the kick... I love the improvement with this bloke! At the moment, it is more important for Dunn to shut down a player and then lets worry bout the stats! We are in desparate need of a stopper, we have not a decent one for years!

Dunn ran with Simon Black.

Not sure about Bode.

Correct, Dunn tagged Black. I also noticed Buckley running with Notting as defensive wingman/half forward type for a bit.

Bode spent the majorty of the 2nd half on the bench i thought?

I don't remember seeing him on the field at all after half time. I'm probably wrong, but i didnt notice much of he or Stef Martin in the 2nd half, particularly the last quarter.

Dunny takes another scalp today! Simon Black had 20 odd touches but I reckon he had about 7 or 8 clangers today as he was under so much pressure. Black`s innefectiveness was one of the main reasons we won today. Nice job Lynden you are one of a number of young blokes who are slowly raising the bar!Bode should be rested, he had 5 touches I reckon and needs some confidence back at Sandy. 3 or 4 weeks now and no impact

Agree with the fact he did a good job on Black... but Simon still had 20+ touches and 10 clearances...

Still... Probably as good as can be expected...

There's about 6-8 young guys that have all but cemented spots in the 22 who weren't in there at the start of the year....

CJ, PJ, Buckley, Dunn, Morton, Garland, Warnock, Wonna etc etc

Dunn showed no courage or comittment errors today either, which is a major improvement on last week.

Black had 23 touches, Dunn 17 and a stack of tackles at the stoppages. Everytime Black had it, Dunn was always right behind him, driving him into the turf. Black's numbers look ok, but his effectiveness and impact was non-existent today IMO. Dunn made him earn every touch.

Top marks Lynden Dunn!

I haven't consulted the stats, but i'm sure you'll find that the effectiveness of Black's possessions were well below his usual best

Dunn the new Cameron Ling

Cameron Ling is the old Lyndenn Dunn :)

66 ranking / supercoach points for Black... been averaging 110 this season... enough said...

at the same time Dunn got 83 points himself... great game from Dunn... the best he's done at his hurting his opponent the other way while he's been tagging... the improvement is really exciting

Actually there were a couple, but they weren't glaring.... he's a work in progress in this regard. There were other times that he went in hard and tackled his arse off, once he does it all the time without thinking about it, he'll be a complete player. Apparently he's got a fantastic attitude, so I think he'll continue to improve under Bailey and Co.

Dunny needs to get a bit more mongrel in his tagging style though, and if he is gunna give away cheap holding free's then he should be making black, goodes ect earn them

make himself known as someone that gunna hurt you for 120mins each week, not just run with them!!!

otherwise, he was very good, and he uses the ball well when he gets it himself

I saw in the stats that Dunn had laid game-high nine (9) tackles for the day, almost all exclusively on Black. I didn't watch him too closely, so those little 'squibs' he may have had, as u said, weren't glaring and went unnoticed by me. What i did notice was he was on Black's backside every step of the way. I said to my mate after the game i thought he probably laid 5 or 6 tackles... but to see he actually laid 9 is a really pleasant surprise. I definitely sensed a lift in the physical side of his game, but do agree, he has some way to go still in terms of physicality and impact. Today was a great step forward though.

There definately was one, in the 1st quater should have gone for the mark, ended up getting the ball and kicking to Miller who marked in the goalsquare so i'll let him off this time.

I thought Dunn's greatest contribution came with seconds to go when he was the the player closest to our goal; he was on the defensive side of centre marking the last Brisbane player, I thought it was 30 Copeland, but it may well as been 20 Black. The ball came out and he got in front and got the ball to the onrushing Davey? who gave it to Green ...

I thought Dunny at least broke even with Black, which is a damn good achievement given Black's well earned reputation and recent form. 'Brush' has a huge upside, and I reckon that over the next few seasons, we will see him start to really hurt opposition teams offensively, as well as through his negating roles.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
