why has bell been dropped??

when the pies have: medhurst who bell smashes, didak who bell smashes

I can just see two of the afl's biggest cats carving us to pieces!!

and buckley being dropped is disappointing because he is the one that is genuinely trying to provide the run out of defence!!!

could be a long long day!!

Because, to be blunt, he has been woeful. He's been consistently cut up defensively and his kicking and forward drive have been ordinary. A good move and hopefully it'll let him regain some touch at Sandy.

Rivers and Morton aside, however, the Ins are very ordinary. 4 VFL specialists.

Also, I think its great to see Bailey continually giving the 3 key defensive posts to Garland, Frawley and Warnock.

Haiving some faith in the kids.

The dropping of Buckley seems to contradict that. I'm no huge Buckley fan (at this juncture) but you'd think he'd get another crack this week.

I was disappointed with that.

Especially when you see that Jace Bode has been named on the 7 man bench.

Interchange from: C.Bartram, J.Bode, N.Carroll, M.Jamar, C.Johnson, J.Rivers, A.Yze

bench isn't looking pretty this week...

Jamar to come in, with PJ playing a permanent forward role...

My Final Interchange: A. Yze, J. Rivers, C. Johnson, M. Jamar

Emergencies: Bartram, Bode, Carroll

also one A. Rocca will be licking his lips. No Hymie the robot to give him another bath...

one worry I have this week is the collingwood forward line... i have the feeling that Davis, Didak and Medhurst will cut us up... Sylvia has been named at full forward, and I hope he plays there, but i think he may have to head down back and help us beat their small forwards...

why matty whelan hasn't been selected, i don't know... seems to indicate this would be his last season if Bails continues to not pick him... would be a handy pickup for another club looking for a back pocket...

I would have Bartram in the team before CJ.

Cj is useless.

Bartram has the capacity to play on one of the Pies small forwards.

Sadly, with his age and injury history, he'd probably be lucky to be picked up by anyone else.

This.....will be a day to behold.

I am happy with what I see. Perfect football conditions forecast.

Sylvia will kick 5

Wona 3, Miller 3, Dunn 2

Numerous single goalkickers.

Ooooze will prove to the Demon world why he is there.

Brock and Jonsey will smash them in the guts.

I don't care about the backline because it won't go down there.

Demons to win by 27 pts

Can you tell this is the first game I am able to get to all year??????? Hangin' Out!!!

I thought Bell was good against the Hawks, however it has certainly been a step backwards from the great signs displayed last season.

My Bench would be: Bartram, Rivers, CJ and Yze

Match Ups:

Warnock gets Rocca

Rivers gets Cloak

Frawley to Medhurst

Bartram to Davis

McDonald to Didak

I don't think we need to play Jamar as White can ruck the majority of the game with stints from a prodominatly forward PJ. Also the match ups above allow Colin Garland to play forward if needed, otherwise perhaps he is the match up for Medhurst.

I would like Sylvia and Yze would play deep. Also when PJ goes into the ruck i think Miller could go deep and Bate and Dunn to play accross half forward.

CJ deserves a chance, in red hot form and kicks the thing well, could be his last crack at it.

I was talking about Whelan.

I agree with you re: Bell, though :)

I actually thought Bell was serviceable last week and with three quality smalls find it interesting that he has not been included. Garland will get Medhurst. Would asssume that Buckley has been ommitted due to his defensive efforts or lack thereof.

I'm a CJ fan. I think our new gameplan will suit him quite well. He hasn't been given as many opportunities as our other young players yet everyone is always on his back.

And I've never been much of a Bartram fan. Lacks the class required for AFL level. Good defensive side to his game, but always lacked the other way.

But as you pointed out, we may need him to play in the back pocket. Think we could be a bit top heavy down back. Frawley, Warnock, Rivers and Garland. Two of those blokes will play on Didak/Medhurst I think. Will wait and see how they match up down back.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
