premiership pact?

I am 25, my old man is 52. We are dees supporters to the grave. We have agreed, not matter what, if the dees win the flag, we will take a week off work, go to every function and get blind every night. Over this week, we will watch the replay twice a day. Beer, premiership Glory...more beer....more premiership glory...pizza....beer....(can we squeeze another viewing in beofre we pass out?)

I made this pact when I was 18. 7 years on, it looks like my old man will retire from work before we win a flag.

I just hope we win one before the old man is too old to enjoy a win like we promised.

Made the same pact with another Melbourne supporter when I was 12 (a bit premature!), and even though we don't speak anymore, the pact is still on.

However, I will definitely wait until I sober up from the post-premiership celebrations before any tattooing gets done. Don't want to end up with a huge tattoo of Brock McLean on my arse! :D

I have made a pact with myself to get one... a nice simple MFC old style logo with the word Premiers above and the year(s) below it.... I hope more than anyting that i actually get the chance to get the tatts before i'm old... i'm in my early twenties now, but u just never know... it could be a LONG LONG time before we see one. Although my big hope is for the 2010 season... ;)

My mate's grandad was a die hard South Melbourne/Sydney supporter. Unfortuntely he died in 2004, and missed seeing his beloved Bloods win in '05. Call it ultra-paranoia if u will, but I hope that doesnt happen to me, to us...

I spoke about this with some friends last year.

I think that the few weeks after are going to be a blur, but it'll consist of attending every function possible, and possibly heading to las vegas with a few Demons mates for some more celebrating.

Hmm... when Melbourne wins it's next premiership...

I'll replace "Hello" with "Melbourne Won" for a month. No exceptions.

Answering the phone - "Melbourne Won"

Job Interviews - "Melbourne Won"

Bump into an ex-girlfirend - "Melbourne Won"

Was going to wait til Melbourne won a premiership to get a huge demon tattooed on me . . .

Came to realisation that it may never happen . . .

Got one anyway :D It's huge and awesome.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
