Sorry if I have missed something but wasn't Col name at HBF against the Dockers? What reason was given for his absence? Injury or heaven forbid disciplinary?

Bushy.

Sylvia got injured at the end of training on Friday evening, a hamstring strain, not sure of the severity of it in terms of games he will miss, but bad timing for Col just as he was establishing himself in the side...

Yeh thats what I heard. If he's fit for Adelaide, would he get back in?

Well Garland and Bell were the replacements for Sylvia and Whelan in the selected side who withdrew because of injury/illness, so if he is to come back into the side it would be at the expense of one of those two you would say...

Gut feeling is he'd get one game at Sandy to ensure he has full confidence in his hamstring before returning...

Thanks, Let's hope it's only a strain and not a tear. Hope he can finally get his act together this year.

Week off came at a good time...

If he's right. Should come straight in. Might be hard to find a hole though. Not to many players deserve to be dropped. Garland and Warnock earned their spots.

sat about 3 seats from the kid yesterday and looked on, that being no obvious signs but means very little

Could be his hamstring, but also possible that it's his shoulder/AC as well.

He and Grimes spoke at half time at the Chairmans Function, and he said it was just a hamstring but had not yet had scans on it to confirm the severity of it. Forgive me for not giving a more detailed report, but sadly had one too many drinks afterwards in celebration

Overheard him at the Chairman's Lunch saying that he expects to be available for the Adelaide game. Also of note was Grimes telling the audience that he plans on playing once he is off the long term injured list in 3-4 weeks. He is an impressive kid.

Looking forward to watching Grimey play.

Hopefully him and Petterd can gives us a different dimension in the midfield.

while id love all these kids to be playing, i would suggest that only forced changes should be made for the adelaide game. a just reward for everyones efforts. of course if its an obvious match up issue then it could be justified.

Wonder if this is why Neitz hasn't been replaced. There will need to be a spot on the list for Grimes to return.

So when Neitz also comes back, we lose Aussie

Neitz still 8 weeks + away. Expect a retirement or 2 by then.

Or sadly, another long term injury - a knee probably.

What happened to saying Grimes will never play a game?

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
