2012 Player Review - # 32 Michael Evans (R)
Roger Mellie replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Back injury I quite like Evans, has a crack and knows how to play. Having said that - shocking kick -
Can we compare apples with apples? Danyeel Pearce v J Rivers Both Rising Star winners Both not over the hill Both in crap teams and I wont mention the fact that Pearce is soft Pearce finished equal 8th in 2012 B & F with a heap of other players (slight exaggeration) Pearce finished equal 5th in last years B & F with a heap of other players (slight exaggeration) Rivvo finished 5th in 2012 and 2nd in 2011 One moves interstate, one doesn't (but may as well) Bit hard to fathom the 20 odd places in the draft

Round 1, 2013 Melbourne v Port Adelaide @ MCG
Roger Mellie replied to wattsup's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope this doesn't mean the majority of our home games against interstate sides again. -
Terry Wallet (on Trade Radio last week) said North would take anything to get rid of Pedersen - even 4th or 5th rounder. I was quite surprised. Made me wonder if he's a tool. NB - grain of salt required (Terry)

Latest murmurings of a crazy time
Roger Mellie replied to Tolstoys Nudge's topic in Melbourne Demons
Please please please trade Martin and a pick for him. Want to keep 20 for another mid -
You are (justifiably) one of the harshest critics on this site. Let me just say.....I'm gob-smacked! You said something almost nice and about Morton of all players wow

In order of preference (for me): Toumpas Wines O'Rourke McRae

I was confused about that one too -
Jesse Hogan & Dominic Barry now Dees!
Roger Mellie replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Barry's stocks rise with his strong showing at the draft camp -
Core Values at Collingwood FC by Heath Shaw Culture - I spewed up more on last year's footy trip than this year's Strong culture - And, I made it to the bathroom Looking after your mates - I didn't spew on Harry O, wasn't me Loyalty - it was Swanny

Wellingham/Dawes super trade (scuppered)
Roger Mellie replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
From the AFL Trade Winds: Cold water has also been poured on another proposed trade that would see Collingwood premiership pair Sharrod Wellingham and Chris Dawes join Melbourne in return for pick No.4 in the NAB AFL National Draft. Phew -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Roger Mellie replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
We need Viney/Toumpas, Viney/Wines, Viney/Hogan or similar not Viney/ Dawes FFS Edit: Pick 3 & 4 that is I'm really happy with Viney/Dawes with Pick 26 & 30 something -
Not new but: American shyte: to replace good old fashioned Aus expression: icing the clock - running down the clock, time wasting selling candy - BAULK shot on goal - at the fat side - You could build a block of flats brand - Style structures - Set-up any re-hashed American rubbish sports expression [censored]

Not to mention another ordinary kick. It'll be like having 2 Rohan Bails on the field
-
We could still land some talent at Pick 47 - too high given he's unlikely to have any suitors. He cant even get a game at St Kilda so would be looking at 60s - 70s
-
Just kidding! No really - his manager has confirmed we have spoken to him (Source; AFL article about GWS and Carlton interest in Hack Clark from St Kilda) Any one know anything about him? Is he that albino average forward from north. I'm all for role players but yuck!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRIS DAWES
Roger Mellie replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Listen boys and girls, in order to get a handle on filth supporter's unashamed glee at the prospect of off-loading Dawes plus ho hum for Wellingham - have a listen to the radio or if you dare (as I do not) check out a filth forum - just what the doctor ordered. Under no circumstances should we entertain a top 20 pick for either or both of them. I'll be the first to admit, they could add to our side, but they are B & C grade. Give them Martin and a second rounder (20s pick). They need to offload them more than we need them when considering what we could snag with pick 4 and 13. Would rather Toumpas/Wines/O'Rourke/McCrae then Kennedy/Garlett/Stringer. To quote The Ox this arvo when discussing the prospect of Dawes at the Dees -'I dunno how any club could go after a tall who cant do anything - kick, mark or ruck' -
