  1. Exactly.....I didn't realise he was a big game player as some on here would have us believe .
  2. No we don't, and as much as I don't like assumptions we can only assume the club thought it was fair as did Dunn.
  3. I also thought that was the case but during an interview a few weeks back he talked about setting himself up, not knowing when your career could end and making the most of it. To me it sounded like money was now the driving force. As I said about Dunn, the club will offer him a fair contract, that fact we are on the up is a bonus. Now it's up to him.
  4. What I mean by "holding the cards" is Roos won't be held to ransom by anyone. Previous coaches would have buckled to demands of the likes of Sylvia and co. Successful clubs have the ability to say here's you're offer, it's a fair one, over to you.
  5. Good point, I would like to think that Roos has mapped out the next couple of years in terms of types of players and the size of contracts.
  6. My point is hopefully we have eliminated to certain extent the game playing aspect of contract negotiations. If you perform consistently you will be offered a contract that reflects that performance. It all starts with players having to earn their spot in the side and not being gifted games like we have done in the past.
  7. Great news for the club. The question is why did he sign so soon? The club is in a stronger position and rewards players with contracts that reflect their true worth. Getting back to a position where the club calls the shots and not the players.
  8. Giving players a role, installing confidence, not being reactionary at the selection table. Simple enough but bloody effective.
  9. Roos ability to get the best out of players- Pedo, Bail, Jetta. A lot of people including myself didn't hold much hope for those three before Roos took over. Big chance next week.
  10. Dawes has taken his game to a new level since joining us. His fierce bone crunching tackles being one example .
  11. Jordie playing AFL for this club again = us taking a backwards step. I've heard and seen all the pros and cons before. Staggered that his name gets brought up.
  12. I live in Cronulla so I may be of some assistance.
  13. Had forgotten about that, they are just so overrated as are Carlton which made that victory so bloody sweet.
  14. All good BB, I'll be making plenty of noise. I'm normally the bloke standing in a pub in NSW by himself making more noise than the other 100 people watching the league.
  15. Ive been listening to a lot of radio today. I'm actually starting to think he will get off.
  16. good point, as recently as last year he still used to get caught a lot with the ball and made some bad decisions when disposing of the ball. He has improved out of sight in those two areas .
  17. I'm nearly tempted to hang around the following weekend to watch us end Hardwicks career.
  18. I left the bunker this morning and arrived in Melbourne for ten days work. Was at the Carlton game but this will be my first home game got the year. Bring on the Redlegs.
