He would have to be involved in a contest for that to happen. So......... -

Great news and Cross has been huge for us this year. That fact that his absence over recent weeks is so sorely missed just highlights how far we have to go.

Post Match Discussion - Round 17
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dunn didn't have his best game yesterday but fits that criteria. I would also add Tmac and Jetta to that list. Two that didn't play yesterday - Salem is skilful and has footy smarts, from what I've seen(most but not all of his games) puts himself in the right places and can hold his ground/out smart his player. JKH.......we know he needs to work on some areas of his game but I think we have the makings of a player there. But yes we have many that don't fit that criteria. -

We need players who love the contest, and can win the contested footy. This automatically rules out a number of players currently on our list. Frawley can take all the time he needs to make up his mind playing on the reserves. Time to send a message. -
Its our inside midfield !! Get it?

Don't need to look again. Last year we all marvelled at Jones, this year his game has gone to a new level. Watts has a few levels left to go. I've been to five games this year and have watched Watts with interest. Yes he gets the ball, yes he has elite disposal, does he impact games like a player of his ability should......no. That's what I'm saying. -

Jumbo, Watts has come on heaps under Roos and yes he played his role yesterday but we shouldn't be content with that. He is capable of so much more and I want to see. Every star of the game has an off week but they also have games they dominate. The best I've seen Watts play was round 1 or 2 this year and was against a team outside the 8. I just want him ut realise and play to his potential not just the glimpse he teases us with. -

No it's not. I'm aloud to have my opinion and Roos is also smart enough to know what Watts could become, but he's not there yet. Being one of the better players in a losing side where most were beaten by their opponent and playing to your full potential on a consistent basis are two different things. Or is what we are seeing now is as good as it gets? Has there been a game yet where Watts not just been in the best players but absolutely dominated it from the outset? For mine Watts is still selective and hesitant at times to take the game on like he should be doing. -
Exactly, how quickly people turn. The coaches aren't stupid, there will be more changes made come seasons end but McDonald won't be one of them.

So Watts got a few kicks.....what impressed you the most? The way he took the game on and carved up the opposition? Or was it his hardness and and attack on the footy? Maybe I expect to much from a player who stands at 196cm, checks in at about 90kg's and has a abundance of natural talent. I personally think he could be better than he is currently showing us, and if we sit back as supporters and are content with that I can only hope that the coaches aren't. -

When we kick out from behinds, we go wide and I get that. I also understand were about 2-3 skilful mids off playing the corridor when moving the ball up the ground. What I don't get is when we win the centre clearance we still go bloody wide. Let's back our forwards in, when we've won the clearance go long and direct before the opposition gets numbers back. Watts has lost me for the time being. Need to make tackles stick, if your tackling someone and they can offload a handball your tackle is ineffective. Saw a lot of that tonight. Along with players getting pushed off to easily. We are improving but still a few changes to be made at years end. -
ghanks mate, managed to pick one up.

Need another key forward out there, couple of more skilled mids, need to be harder and make tackles stick.

Does anyone know if you would be able to purchase guest passes from the home office if you didn't organise them during the week??

Bombay Airconditioning replied to Alf Stewart's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lets be honest, most of us questioned why we traded for him. -
Yes, it would be. On a side note three flags from the group was a good return.

Jesse Hogan ~ new 2 year deal

Well put, Hogan on the verge of signing is huge but It also signals that the club has finally turned the corner and is no longer the leper of the competition. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly, agree totally. We all love our game and thought something like this could never happen to it, but it has and those that area guilty must be dealt with accordingly. Missing the finals and Hird paid 1mil doesn't cut it. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't know all the ins and outs of this, had interest.....lost interest.....have vague interest....But besides the arrogance of Hird the two things that sh#t me to tears are the "no records were kept". Who do they honestly think is buying that. I honestly hope that comes back at them in the form of a rubber fist. The other one is the club Doctor who was so concerned for the players welfare that he wrote an email to Hird then sat on his hands with his back turned......staggering. I feel for the first, second and even third year players, but f#*k me, with all the education these players are subject to, where were the so called leaders of the playing group. How often would these kids been injected whilst playing TAC or equivalent.....none, that's how much, but everyone thought it was alright because their medical staff said so, which medical staff? The club Doctor was cleared. Some random bloke .....???? Give all the senior players two year, take the Brownlow and give it to Cotchin and ban Hird for life. If he isn't in the hall of fame yet he should never be allowed to be. -
When will we know we are taken seriously
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes and no, Port showed on Saturday they are a force, we had out chances but in they end were shown how it's done. Fair to say we may have learnt a bit from that . -
I'm there, can't wait. Would like to see an aggressive start.
