The Jack Viney bump that never was!
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Matt Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's done nothing wrong but that fact someone got seriously injured they may want to hang someone for it. Hopefully common sense prevails. -

I didn't think Viney made contact but after rewatching it many times I think you'll find his right shoulder makes contact. This can be seen watching the footage where we see Viney from behind. Having said that it was in play, he was after the ball realised the situation and braced himself. It should be thrown out but the whole system is a joke, so who knows. -

just my opinion. There is a difference between currently AFL standard and working towards it. -

How many players currently playing for Casey(not injured) are AFL standard. Possibly 2. -

Interesting to hear Roos say that he's only coaching at 80%. Concentrating on getting certain things right before getting to technical. -

He probably bloody will. Fair bump by Viney, Georgio was laying the tackle but because someone got seriously injured I think he will be cited. Very defendable though. Sometimes injury's happen. -

Great highlights package. He's a great kick from outside the arc. -

Having a win was big, having an interstate win was massive. Next two games very winnable, Dogs and the Tigers. -

Can't remember the last time we won interstate.

Must admit I was having a sleep, woke up and turned on Triple M, first thing I heard was "Watts may have done hammy chasing".....thought I was dreaming.

Someone will write "where are the Watts haters now?" Have a crack....wow look what happens.

sadly some of the rot have a year or two left to run on their contracts and they are untradeable. -

Alexis Georgiou can accept reprimand

cheers, I'm not across the points system. But that being the case further highlights what a stupid bloody system it is . -
Great point. Combined ticket sales from all 18 clubs across all games gets divided by 18 at years end. The Geelongs of the world still own the catering rights. Clubs need to become competitive to get the "exposure games" but all money is shared. Will never happen.

Like Hurleys? He seems to have stalled as well. -
WATTS, SHORT CIRCUITING OR NOT?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like/agree with a lot of stuff you post but we can't be on the same page here. Watts is naturally athletic, very quick, would be in the top bracket of AFL players in terms of skill/disposal. He would pick up new game plans/styles with relative ease. Were talking about the basics of the game, many of which can be done without the ball. He reads the play well, if these things are not getting done it's purely because he chooses not to do them. Let's no over complicate this. -
WATTS, SHORT CIRCUITING OR NOT?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Watts had one foot out the door last year, Roos signs then Jack signs. Everyone knows Roos wants to play tough, accountable football. I'm assuming they spoke before Jack signed. I'm guessing 3/4 time on Saturday night wasn't the first time Roos has ever spoken to Watts. So what's the problem? Injured? Don't think so. You either want to put in or you don't. Has till years end to prove his worth or we take what we can get for him. -

You can't be serious, continual progression of what? If Watts tries any harder to avoid the contest he'll be out in the carpark. -

Not a good draft year for many teams. -
WATTS, SHORT CIRCUITING OR NOT?

This year, hasn't had any serious injuries I can remember. As I mentioned earlier we had to give him a chance under Roos, he is flat out of excuses. Only problem is now his trade value has dropped from first round. -
Alexis Georgiou can accept reprimand
Bombay Airconditioning replied to daisycutter's topic in Melbourne Demons
So if Georgio repeats the action, he misses a game. Two separate trivial incidents which don't warrant suspension by themselves have their powers combined to total x amount of points which warrants a player to miss games. I always wondered where the Pluck-a-duck wheel wound up. -

The whole system is a joke. Not a fan of carry over points. This is a perfect example of why the system is flawed.
