Which team could cope with our losses?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to buck_nekkid's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes that is a big list but we of lack depth. -
Changes v Carlton - Round 4
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Deespicable's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree but having said that can't justify leaving him out if it means were bringing in McKenzie. -
Roos isn't stupid. In the same day that Mitch retired Spud Jnr says up yours. He knows where we are at. There is a story on the homepage about a mid season player review. We need to identify who can play and who must be moved on, no more favours or free games. Spots must earned. What talent we have left must be secured and Spud Jnr should be dropped. It won't happen but I would like to see it.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Bombay Airconditioning replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Take care Mitch. -
Hawks got bugger all for Buddy, another example of AFL moving the goalposts.
-
good post, let's be honest he's already gone as is Clark. Cross had showed more leadership in one preseason and three games .
-
If you want four years at 600k-650k ask for 800. Regardless of the figure he should be asked for an honest answer.....probably won't get one.

"premiership blueprint" is the new buzz phrase.
-
The club needs to decide whether it intends to match the offer. If a player wants out let him go, no point being here. We dropped Trenners to make a statement, let's make a bigger statement and drop Spud mark2 for the rest of the season.

Grundy would be nice, at the time the thought if Clark/Dawes was looking pretty good.

Changes v Carlton - Round 4
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Deespicable's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly, that's what I meant by made to understand. Players have been gifted games for years, some players still think this is the case. -
Howe can bloody stay. He is more than icing. We keep forgetting we are come from a long way back.

Changes v Carlton - Round 4
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Deespicable's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any player that is dropped must serve a minimum 2-3 weeks in the twos so that they are made to understand. Being dropped for a week then brought back serves little purpose. The fact that people are calling for McKenzie to return further highlights the fact how devoid of depth we actually are. -
Some good points. For mine Mitch will leave the club. Not ideal but the current situation isn't working for either party.

SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly plus he's 19. Bailey/Neeld would have had Salem playing already rather than let him develop. -
SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION

I think McDonald has potential, he's only and has been part of crap development of recent years. -

We had to use two of our key defenders as forward options..... -

I think the fact Jones and Dunn have taken their game to a new level is a win. Long way to go. -
SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION

Because the first weekend after the grand final there is something missing. Then you realises it's nice to have a break from it, after Xmas it's the tennis then you know it's coming. It's the most exciting game in the world with a contest at every part of the ground. It's for when Howe takes another specky. It's because we've been crap for so long that when we comeback it will be even sweeter. Roos boarded a sinking ship it will take longer than one pre season. -
Well it seems what the club is saying is different to what Dawes said yesterday. Why lie? Or is it as someone suggested a combination of problems.
-
Not knowing a lot about mental health/depression I would ask the question what's worse, the issue causing the problem or the inability to deal/treat it. Going off what Dawes was quoted in his interview yesterday "all of Mitch's problems stem from injury's/inability to train-play/feeling of letting your teammates down". Were the possible issues of relationship problems not mentioned out of respect? Because to a lot of people if that's all you have to worry about your not doing to badly at all. To me mental health issues/depression would stem from substance abuse/ homelessness/ problematic childhood/ people who have been abused/ living with domestic violence/ living with an illness of disability/ financial problems ect. But as we know everyone reacts/thinks/feels/is affected differently. For what seems like a non issue to some it is obviously tearing Mitch apart. You would think he has sought help with regards to this. Maybe the advise given to him was to return home to be close to friends and family. If what Dawes said is true and I'm assuming it is this has been a big eye opener for me. I look at people I know in different situations now and think are they doing ok, are they just putting on a brave face or do they not know any other way. At the end of the day we will never know the full story and we don't need to know, the bottom line is Mitch is parting ways with the club, we wish him all the best and plan our next move as a club. This issue has showed the need for mental health to be discussed and not seen as something to be embarrassed about because clearly it is bigger than most of us thought possible.

DEVIL OF A TIME - Match Preview and Team Selection
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Keeping an eye on stats for supercoach purposes was interested to see some of the highest possession getters over the weekends games also led the way in tackles. Selwood, Mitchell, Ablett and Libba stood out. There is no excuse not to lay tackles. Also our tackles need to stick. -
Interest Factor in football these days almost dead
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I get joy out of watching the highly overrated Carlton/Richmond sides get beaten. Both on track to miss the eight this year and if that does happen it can only be seen as unacceptable by their respective boards. -
If Hogans is going to turn out as good as Wayne Carey thinks he will I would be offering him more.
-
Compensation being in the form of the Dockers don't make a play for Hogan.
