  1. Not sure about the shrink. With regards to his decline in contact since round 1, I put it down to round 1, new coach, new season, clean slate to an extent. Saints were serverly undermanned and had lots of kids in. Now as the season progresses and we start to play more experienced teams he goes missing. In the past a player will leave then play a decent game for their new club and we all say "were we the problem, couldn't we develop him". If Roos can't get the best out of a Watts this year he must be traded, might get a 2nd round if were lucky. Can't go into games with players who refuse to put in 100% regardless of how good your disposal is. We are building a culture, he is not setting a good example.
  2. Round 1 against an undermanned Saints he was impressive but as each goes by he becomes more exposed.
  3. Exactly, take the game on. His has pace on his side.
  4. I'm going early here. We will beat the Tigers in 3 weeks.
  5. Was really impressed the first three weeks having seen 4-5 games each week. Umpires interpretation of prior opportunity is puzzling.
  6. It will be diddums for Watts should he find himself dropped. Has to happen. Team must come first.
  7. Need I remind you I posted this amongst others earlier in the week. It was having a go at those that still defend him. If you can be bothered read pages 3&4 of this thread.
  8. I want Howe back in the forward line.
  9. Are Carlton still interested?
  10. How quickly people forget Watts hasn't gotten over his debut game.
  11. Another [censored] weak tackle where the player being tackles can dispose of the ball.
  12. It only we could tackle effectively.
  13. Yes he deserved to be dropped. Not sure where he fits into the team. One supposedly good game against Ablett doesn't constitute a career. Modern day taggers need to be able to hurt teams going the other way and tackle, something he fails to do more often than not. In the first couple of weeks star players were not only racking up 30+ touches but also accumulating large tackle numbers. Wouldn't even muster a pick in the 60's so were stuck with him.Yes, Cross should be dubbed " The Tackle Machine".
  14. Only two year contracts unless your an established player or high draft pick. As we try to lever ourselves from the bottom of the ladder we can't afford to be weighed down.
  15. The tackle machine dropped. Where to now?
  16. I would have thought the two go hand in hand. Identifying strengths and weaknesses of you and your opponent.
  17. It's a great topic DD36, not just in terms of O'keefe but all senior players. Looking at Geelong on Monday they won't bottom out. Chappy will be great for the Bombers, Hunt and JPOD will be serviceable for their clubs. It's hit and miss with older players, we should know. I tend to agree with the majority, we are a year too late. It would be a reasonable assumption Roos has a hit list. The way Cross is playing would be quite happy for him to play on next year.
  18. Salary cap means you can only afford so much, if players choose to leave for success and less money fair enough, but if it's more about money then were still in with a chance. The Hawks can't afford every one. I don't think anyone we've lost so far has affected the club that much, plus through trade we've acquired good players. Securing current talent is a priority. The club should have plenty of cap space next year, are they already shopping themselves?
  19. We all want Garland back, he's more than a third man up.
