  1. SEN have had callers this afternoon saying that Melbourne Members were throwing their 2010 membership scarfs in the bins at the MCG in disgust at the teams performance on Saturday. Is this True? No matter how bad, mad or disgusted I am at the sides performance I couldn't degrade the team I truely adore (through the good and bad) in this manner. How do others feels? Did anyone on Demonland throw their scarf away in protest?
  2. It would be great to have a choice of either a cap or scarf. I e-mailed the club a couple of years ago with this suggestion but did not get a reply (again!). At a guess a scarf would be cheaper to produce than a cap, but I would be happy to pay an extra $10 (or whatever) for a members 'only' cap. Personally, I only wear the scarf at the footy. I would wear the peaked cap nearly everyday and this would provide great advertising of the Melbourne Football Club and the club sponsors. I've seen other clubs 'Members Only' peaked caps and they look great! Traditions are great but sometimes a change, or at least a choice, is needed.
  3. "Rivers and Moloney have been fantastic - they are right in the mix of everything with the players. They are great role models and there is a little bit of James McDonald in each of them, which might surprise some people." Gee - didn't know the boys were THAT close! LOL
  4. Carlton said it will take a few players to make up for Fevola's loss. Looks like the whole side is trying to make up for it!
  5. We got 4 packs (2 adult & 1 kid = family membership and 1 x concession) and we all got a calendar each. VERY well presented pack. 2010 membership scarf issue is by producing your membership card at the family day or match day stand - just like last year.
  6. My teenage daughters have got the 'Jack' picture plastered all over their walls - I'm happy with that!
  7. How bad is Judd going for that to happen!
  8. I would rather he played 25 or 26 next year!
  9. LOL. What makes it even better is that I watched him take an easier set shot the other night and he missed the lot!
  10. For the information of all Melbourne supporters and the 11,814 Melbourne supporters registered with a Supercoach Team - in the 'club supported rankings' the Melbourne Supporters finished 1st. So well do to all of us - we'll take that 'premiership'. Wouldn't expect anything less as we all know that Melbourne supporters have the greatest football brains.
  11. Thought Bartrams game was worthy of more than than the 'a solid game' comment especially against the top of the ladder team. Thanks Joeboy - always enjoy reading the comments.
  12. Jurrahs is amazing and don't we love him. Obviously a demon favourite - has taken my girls 4 weeks to get badges of him at the games! Even the opposition supporters appreciate his ability.
  13. I too was there with my now wife - her first ever VFL/AFL game. We sat in the members, about 35 metres away from where Buckanara had that kick for goal! I remember cheering off Robbie for his last game - with a tear or 2 in my eye. And then the bloody car over-heated in the car park traffic jam. God knows I have tried to forget - but I cant! With this memory and Hawthorns 90 something flogging of us in the '88 grand final, I would dearly love to win our next premiership by beating them!
  14. Totally agree - honest, tough player who is not scared to have a crack - a very important one for our future.
  15. It was great being at the game today and watching the boys have a real crack at the league leaders. Despite 'positional testing' we were only 16 points down at the 20 minute at the last quarter! Great crowd of over 37,000 too. The boys gave us lots of memorable moments - Jurrahs 1 handed mark, Jurrahs over the head goal and Robbo's last ever goal for the Demons to mention a few. Sad to see the 3 boys go - thanks Robbo, Wheels & Wheats! Great gesture by the Saints boys to wait 15 minutes to be in the guard of honour too! My favourite moment of the day was watching Milne play on from a 40m set, straight in front, set shot - duffed the kick and scored a point. This was in in front of our cheer squad and a large amount of demons supporters. The chant of 'Milne is a W@nker' was brilliant! LOL I look forward to seeing what 2010 brings after a solid 6 months of 'pre-season' training and the inclusion of the new No. 1 & 2 draft picks. I intend to re-new my membership immediately and hope the rest of you do too (and not wait till after round 1 - show the club we love them and do it early!) Go Dee's.
  16. Got to admit that I am happy with the developement of Jake Spencer - we don't need Sandilands!
  17. So did Roo have a kick for goal after the siren and missed?
  18. Didn't start this thread for anyone to have a crack at Bartram for 1 second. It was a funny moment of which I thought was ironic. Bartram is a gutsy footballer who never stops. 99% of the time he gets the oppositions best player and has to sacrifice his own game to negate them. Don't know about his stats yesterday, but watched him absolutely negate Boomer Harvey in Round 1. There are a lot of others who could learn from his work ethic - IMO.
  19. Anybody else see Clint Bartram Vs Heath Scotland in the handball competition on Channels 9's "The Sunday Footy Show" today? His first left hand handball missed all the scoring area and was actually lucky to hit the rotating target at all! Poor buggar was highly embarrassed but copped the ribbing from the hosts on the chin. IMO, pretty well sums up Melbournes performances over the last 3 years I reckon! <_<
  20. I understand that the sending of ST. Kilda memberships instead of Melbourne is an error but none the less not acceptable. I have had nothing but problems with the membership department for the last 2 years - this year in particular. And in my opinion if MFC can't keep their members satisfied then people will not re-new memberships. My dramas were that last October I received my 'family renewal' online and paid it immediately, wanting to use the payment plan. I realised a day later that my eldest (15yrs) was no longer a junior and needed an adult membership. Rang the club and explained the deal and they fixed it up - so I thought. Checking the membership options I worked out the 15yr was an adult concession and not a full paying adult. Rang the club and got that fixed, but was told that all memberships had been paid in full. Explained that I wanted payment plan - was told that it was changed to that payment type. (At this stage I realise that these problems are not just the membership departments fault - but they should have said the 15yr old was a concession membership) A couple of weeks later I get a phone call from memberships saying there had been a problem with payment - computer glitch so they said, and all payments cancelled and started again. Soon after I got a 'confirmation of membership' type letter from the club - I got one but no-one else in the family did. A week later I rang the club where upon they proceeded to tell me that the because of another 'computer glitch' that when renewing family memberships on-line, only 1 adult membership was actually activated as valid - they fixed this up (It was just luck that I rang the club to see why others falimy members had not got this letter). Just before Xmas 2008, I get the membership packs in the mail - only to find I have been sent 6 instead of 4 - and 2 were different memberships to what I ordered! Rang the club and they said to send them back - at my expense (wonder how much the club has wasted printing up 2 extra membership cards and added postage?). So I send 2 membership packs back (via express post the next day) with a letter asking that they confirm in writing that I was only paying for 4 memberships, my 4 memberships are valid and activated and that they detail to me in writing how much I have actually been charged (and the payment type) - have heard or seen nothing! It seems to me that the membership department is made up from temporary casual employees, who have no accountability to the members or the MFC. In my opinion, if the MFC can't get something as simple as memberships right - then how will they get the on-field football department back to an elite level.
  21. Yep, I agree to - it's a disgrace. There is no way I would buy one of these shirts. Whoever chose this, obviously chose last years clash jumper as well - they should get their eyes checked and maybe stop looking for the 'latest' fashions in 'Op Shops'.
  22. Thanks, will take the kids to a session - cheap holiday outing! LOL
