  1. Great report - thanks. I'm interested in taking the kids to a training session - did it start at 8.30 am as advertised on the MFC website?
  2. I also subscribed to this special. Best thing is that there is no where near as many articles about Collingfilth in the Age as there is in the Herald Sun - and that's got to be the best reason to take out a subscription!
  3. Q. How do we know that the toothbrush was invented in Collingwood? A. If it was invented anywhere else, it would have been called a TEETHbrush!
  4. He was very much like Jeff White - a high leaping ruckman who could take a specky. Excellent tap ruckman who was a Demons crowd favourite. Tried to upload a picture but got error messages)
  5. I got the e-mail last week to re-new the family membership - which I did straight away, online. Next day I realised that the eldest was too old for the family membership, so I rang up and took out a membership for her. I inadvertantly took out a full adult membership for the 15 year old, not realising that there was a 'student concession' membership - my fault, though the membership person could have advised me as they had her previous years memberships details. Anyway, I rang today to get that changed and the very helpful person fixed it all up. One thing I did find out was that they have had problems with people re-newing family memberships online. It appears that not all the names on the family membership are being activated as 'paid' when re-newing by this method - a 'glitch' in the software apparently, so I was explained. In my case, my membership was activated but the wife's and youngest kid wasn't - hence why I got the 'glossy letter' and they didn't. Anybody who has re-newed there membership online might want to call MFC membership services (9643 1760) and have them double check it. Cheers.
  6. Just seen on the morning news that Robbie Warnock has told Fremantle that he 'wants out' and is intending to 'head home'. Hopefully 'home' is the Melbourne Football Club.
  7. The family and I went to the function - what a relief to be amongst Melbourne Supporters after putting up with the Richmond Ferals all day. Anyway, though it was advertised to start at 5, it didn't really get going till 6 - when the players started arriving. Once again they were fantastic and VERY obliging in autographs and pictures - especially considering they only finished a game 90 minutes earlier. The formalities were on the stage on the track in front of about 1,000 supporters and was hosted by Chris Connolly; 1. Jim Stynes - talked about the debr demolition and announced that it was now ar $3,000,000. Thanked evrybody and explained the process and how the club was continuing to raise funds until 'in the black'. Then showed a video of the function where all the 'high rollers' donated all the big dollars - included in this clip was Garry Lyon's 'rev up' speech. 2. Cameron Schwab - talked about how he was glad to be back and his plans to take the club into the future. 3. Dean Bailey - thanked all the staff, players and supporters for putting up with such a hard year. Again, outlined his vision for the future, especially the fact in that out playing group is so young and so many had been blooded this tear. 4. Jack Grimes, Aussie, Brad Miller - we all introduced onto the stage and interviewed by Connolly. Good fun. 5. Jeff White - introduced to a standing ovation. A video clip was played of his Melbourne Highlights and then he spoke. Said, no matter what happens he will always be 'red and blue. Very passionate speech about his love of the club etc. 6. Ben Holand - introduced to the crowd and spoke about his time and love at the club. Rousing ovation from everyone. 7. Adam Yze - huge applause and a bigger ' Yzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' from the crwod. Showed a video package and then he spoke. He got quite chocked up talking about his time and love for the club. Left the stage to a standing ovation and another big ' Yzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'. 8. Connells then got all the players on the stage. There was a bit of a break dancing display from some kids and Brad Miller - LOL. A pledg was then made that next year will be huge with all the changes being made around the club. They also pointed out there will be a LOT more club nd supporters interaction. Everyone then sang the theme song and home we went. Though freezing it was well worth the wait. Again, those players were just great and patient. They all must just wanted to get out of there and off to 'rehab'! LOL
  8. Put Meeson & White both in - can't hurt!

  10. It was $126,276 until McNamee was sacked!
  11. Olympic Ceremony starts at 9:50pm on 8/8/08. Football telecast starts at 7:00pm
  12. Wouldn't & couldn't support another team. For decades I have given my heart and soul (and my hard earned money) to the Mighty Demons, so there is no way I could jump ship and support another team in any form. Love my footy, so would still watch the sport. Maybe if there was no MFC, then my hair would grow back and my blood pressure would lower back to normal levels! Keep fighting MFC.
  13. Could coach the players in; 1. No hard ball gets, 2. Circle work - ie running around packs, 3. What it's like to not win a premiership in your career (Have enough of those experts), 4. Changing clubs for money, 5. How to deal with supporters with an IQ less than the number of teeth in their mouths.
  14. 23,278 people turned up yesterday and to quote this mornings paper; "The crowd was so loud as Brad Green surged towards goal ......." and, "The siren could not be heard in the press box..." They are even questioning if the sirens are loud enough - with a crowd of 23,278. And Demetriou, the [censored], questions Melbourne supporters passion. Something that gets me is that 23,278 turn up to watch the bottom side playing a top 8 side fom interstate. It is a freezing, rainy, miserable Sunday and by all 'experts' accounts, Melbourne are going to get flogged. But, go back to Friday night, a beautiful still, dry evening and start of school holidays - a perfect night for footy. The 3rd placed and in form team Hawthorn are playing a home game against the 2nd last team, also from interstate - great incentive for their supporters to turn up and watch their team [censored] the opposition, but they get a crowd of 29,000. Hawthorn have over 40,000 members to our over 28,000 yet they only get 6,000 more people to their game - why are Hawthorns supporters passion & committment not questioned by the AFL? Go Dee's
  15. I just find it difficult to comprehend why there is more criticism thrown at Sam NEWMAN for his actions than what there is for a 'rock-spider' photographer who wants to display nude 13 year old girls and call it 'art'! Women came out and defended that 'so called artist' for his portrayal of the naked girl, but they attack Sam for attempts at comedy. More cases of bullying against Sam, but that seems to be ok. Go figure?
  16. 1. Jonathon Brown, 2. Brendan Fevola, 3. Nick Natanui, 4. Daniel Rich, 5. Rich Indian Bloke who is going to invest $20,000,000 in MFC Pharmacutical Expert: Ben Cousins
  17. Sooner he's back the better. The sooner those who don't want to watch him or the footy show realise that they can change channels - the better too. It amazes me the amount of people who say that they hate him and the footy show, but still watch it!
  18. On SEN tonight, they were advertising 'erectile' problems and Ox said, "If you're not performancing in the bedroom". I cracked up thinking, "there's one for the Demonland forum".
  19. Just checked the Swans Forums and they reckon it was soft and nothing in it! They reckon that Bartram should go for head-butting Goodes hip! LOL Gotta love a democracy.
  20. His wifes Plastic surgeon is the one who should be charged!
  21. LOL - excellent reply KrazyJay. I just hope the information you posted is the result of a Google search and not local knowledge! LOL
  22. West Coast had 14of it's premiership players in the side and still got flogged. The 'nutrition' that their Coach, Worsfold the Chemist, is giving them can't be working as well as it did for the premiership year.
