  1. Nah, it's a close call. Billings came in underdone, he couldn't really run through the midfield. It's a tough call between Kelly, Billings, Sheed, Aish and Scharenberg as far as the mids go. Dunstan doesn't have the class or smarts of any of those players - barring perhaps Scharenberg, that is debatable. Posters are locked in on Dunstan just because he has a mature body, but in reality, Kelly and Sheed offer more as mids.
  2. That is because Griffin wasn't that influential when it counted. It taken us to fall over for Griffin to do a Steve Bradbury. Considering Griffin has carved it up this year and is arguably the best player in the league - other than Ablett - on form. Nicho done a good job to pick up touches himself.
  3. Griffin has killed the best of taggers this year. We can work with Nicho, he has pace, run and carry, breaks the lines and isn't short of confidence. They are both terrible kicks, Jordie doesn't have much scope for improvement - whereas Nicho does IMO. McKenzie can't stick tackles, is poor by hand - and foot - and is a turn over merchant.
  4. After he dominated the game, best player all day. Sheed killed it and will be hard to over look.
  5. We are more likely to get a pick after our second selection if anything. Can't justify a high pick, too many clubs would whinge - and we are lucky to get good compo for Scully and Viney so cheap as is.
  6. I have been a big advocate for tanking in the past, it's a wonderful thing. But those days are over now, we have more talent on our list than people realize. We'll be right, add a top pick this year, Hogan and our outs and we'll be back next year.
  7. Sometimes it's a bad sign more so than a good one. I wouldn't read too much into the betting plunge, because more often than not it's betting agencies setting up the casual punter. These agencies really are the lowest form of scum that we have around, they would sell their own mothers these blokes.
  8. I wouldn't be against taking Billings. I reckon that kid is going to be something pretty special. Other than that, Sheed and Scharenberg have the points on the board and look ready made, especially the latter. We don't need Boyd, we already have Hogan, Clark, Dawes and Watts in our forward line for 2014. Combine this with Howe - who plays taller than he is - and we do not need Boyd. Plus his injury could hamper him in the future, I thought it looked severe.
  9. It doesn't really matter if the Bullies end up below us as they will take Boyd - they need Boyd more than anything. We don't really need Boyd, we need Scharenberg, he'd be a good fit. Have a feeling we'll go with Kelly though, apparently we really liked him last year and were going to use our mini pick on him. But, in saying that, Kelly is a bit thin and we don't really have the luxury of developing those types anymore.
  10. Plenty more quality players than Dunstan in this upcoming draft. Taking Dunstan at 2 would be a shock to most.
  11. I like that Toumpas is different to most other draftees killing it atm. Most are inside beasts, which is great, they are competitive guns mostly. But Toumpas is more of an outside player and I haven't seen him not hit a target. He will give us run, carry and accurate disposal going inside and outside of 50. That is a very handy weapon to have. Started his career being a bit soft, but careers don't just consist of a few games, thankfully. These kids don't have it easy anyway, there is a lot of pressure on them - without even thinking of nerves, etc.
  12. Gawn tired in the last quarter and Minson had a free run at it, so it's a once off. Max Gawn doesn't have the body to withstand 4 quarters of football in the ruck, but he done a hell of a job for 3. In the last quarter, we may aswell of played without a ruck, so that is hardly Nath Jones fault. I am not even worried about that last quarter, the game was there to be won for the first 3 quarters if the Bulldogs were up to it - and they weren't. They only started playing when we didn't, that will not happen next year. Bulldogs are rubbish and we had Viney, Clark, Grimes and Jamar out... Jamar would've won the ruck all day, so we done well to smash the dogs till 3 quarter time IMO.
  13. When Watts dominated Junior football, he was a stick amongst sticks. Came into AFL, he was a stick figure amongst big bodies. How can a kid compete when he is coming from so far back. Once Jack's body catches up to where it needs to be - to play as a forward, like he was doing in juniors, then we will see him dominate. Watts is still only catching up. In this day and age, the media has a job, they will pray on footballers, hoping they fail, then when they fail, you'll see the odd sympathy piece. If we all didn't read papers and instead used our commonsense, then they'd be no need to worry about Jack Watts.
  14. Adds a lot of dash to the side. Dash and confidence.
  15. I'd rather Fitz in our side than Pederson or Sellar. More upside for the big fella and he deserves a crack at it. Was impressive in patches today.
  16. Props to Todd Viney for scouting out Terlich, he is a GUN. Looks like he has a great relationship with Frawley on the field, they look for each other a lot.
  17. Leadership - Check. Toughness - Check. Step ladder for Jeremy Howe to take hangers over - Massive Check.
  18. We will improve even more under Roos. Geelong/Sydney production line = A1 coaches who get the best out of their players. Nothing wrong with Craig, players are driving without the handbrake on (Neeld)
  19. Finally we have a tagger of some use. Nicho has found his role and we are no longer playing one down with McKenzie spudding it up not hitting targets.
  20. I know it wasn't pretty, but the boys got to sing the song, that is all I care about. These poor blokes have been through the ringer and thankfully they at least get a reward.
  21. Nicho is playing a hell of a game. It's refreshing to have a tagger with PACE!!
  22. I know Davey hasn't done much, but he is the most elusive player I've ever seen. His movements are so quick, so glad he is producing future Melbourne superstars with Wanganeens sister.
  23. Yeah and Griffin is the most in form player in the comp atm.
