  1. Kieren Jack, Hanners and McLynn shouldn't be able to run around week in - week out and do as they like.
  2. The way Watts talks about Nathan Jones just furthers popular opinion that Jones should've been captain. Personally, I think Nath Jones p*ssed on Mark Neeld's breakfast one morning, this is yet to be confirmed, but it's the only logical explanation.
  3. Who knows, but he has been good down back.
  4. I think our midfield has improved the past couple of weeks. It's an area we need to work on, but let's not forget, we have Viney to add to our midfield. Another high draft pick along with hopefully the improvement on Trengove, we should be ok.
  5. The umpires have been shocking. But, the umpires will remain shocking until we climb the ladder. Thankfully Andy D wants to see us get back to powerhouse status, which should see an improvement from the umpires. As all the big sides get a saloon run with the umpires.
  6. The Duck is one of the only blokes who sings our praises.
  7. If the physical side of things and his skills let him down, then his work ethic should be put in question. He should've worked harder on his skills and definitely should've worked harder on his body. Cale come to us a stick figure and left the club as a stick figure. His work ethic was nothing short of pathetic, on the field and judging by his body and lack of skills, his work ethic off field was also pathetic.
  8. If he doesn't gel with Buckley - as speculated - then he could go for it. It makes sense for both parties, I actually like the trade. Swan and Franklin are similar, they'd both be a good fit.
  9. Jamie Elliot is Collingwoods best young talent, we should throw a quid at him. He is going to be a gun.
  10. If I was Collingwood and GWS, I'd do that trade. It probably favors Collingwood a smidgen, but Swan and Harry O have the points on the board. Also, they would be ideal to slot in that sides in addition to Franklin.
  11. IMO there is better talent available at pick 2 than Dunstan... Sheed was A LOT cleaner than Dunstan in the champs..
  12. I like the fact that Aish is actually on the park atm, other than Sheed. So no doubt we'll be looking closely at Aish, Kelly and Scharenberg between now and draft time. I like Sheed as a player and loved his championships, but the common consensus at the moment is that Aish, Kelly and Scharenberg are vying for #2. Sheed killing the championships appears to have surprised many, so I'd like to know how well he was going before the championships, most had him 10-15 beforehand. Kelly hasn't exactly set the TAC cup on fire either, so I do see why Aish is the logical #2 pick for most. It's going to be very interesting how it plays out. But If we were keen on Kelly last year, then I cannot see us overlooking him this year. Between Kelly and Aish for mine.
  13. Scharenberg is nothing like Fyfe. Mundy was an accurate comparison.
  14. From Craig to Watts, to Jones, Trengove, Frawley, they have all remained consistent - in that they haven't bagged Neeld and have maintained it's just the change. To me that says, they all know very well that Neeld was the issue, they are happy to have him out the door and see no need to even bag him. The problem is gone, they are all very happy and refreshed that Neeld is no longer the coach. IMO I think Craig and the players agreed with what Neeld was trying to do, but they just never bought into Neeld as an authority figure. Just from the little I seen of the Watts interview with Mike, blokes like Watts and Trengove - who are placid fellas - respond better under Craig. Craig is a nurturing bloke and it appears that our list respects Neil Craig, because he isn't trying to be something he is not and isn't playing dictator. I am glad Neeld is out whilst Toumpas is in his first year, because IMO Neil Craig is the type of coach these young blokes need atm.
  15. Lesson 1 - choose the right coach. Carlton have a culture problem, the same problem the MFC have - which is more than likely a result of tanking. Malthouse has never been a culture builder. Collingwood hardly had a good culture when Malthouse was there. Paul Roos was the man for the job at Carlton, they approached Roos first and he would've went a long way to improving that club. Roos is a culture builder and if we can snare Roos, then we should all be very happy. If we can't snare Roos, we should stick with Craig.
  16. Josh Kelly is nothing like Cale Morton. Kelly has the highest work ethic of any player in this draft. Morton has no work ethic. Kelly, Aish and Sheed are all guns. Be interesting to see how Kelly and Aish go for the rest of the year.
  17. The AFL virtually thrown Port a priority pick when the AFL were generous with their compo last year - when they lost Pearce and Chaplin. Getting sick of sides whinging about us receiving a pick.
  18. It's harder this year due to Sheed and Boyd getting injured. It's harder because Aish - who was rated top 2 - had shoulder surgery before the season, so isn't at his best. Billings has been underdone. Crouch has had a limited prep. McDonald was under an injury cloud before last weeks game - as mentioned today. Most those players are expected to go at the top end of the draft, so it makes it hard to accurately sum up. I can only imagine scouting players is hard enough when they are all fit, let alone having to take into account players being injured, etc.
  19. Jack Viney would run rings around Dunstan. Viney is a much better hunter and gatherer.
  20. Chocco or Craig... Eade is a [censored].
  21. It might be irrelevant anyway. Sheed will be very hard to go past... He was absolutely dominant last week.
  22. Wouldn't be so bad if we got a PP directly after our second pick, considering Adelaide and Essendon will be out of the draft.
