  1. One thing is for sure, if Hogan was in the open draft this year, he'd be a CLEAR number 1 selection.
  2. Roos will need an incentive to come back into coaching and he will not want to fail. If you were Paul Roos, would you ask for a priority pick, knowing that it will give you more of a chance to succeed? If you listen to Roos on the couch, he made a case for us receiving a priority when IMO, in the past he would've bagged out the suggestion of us receiving such a pick.
  3. Magner won't make it at AFL level. Couch still could, but it's unlikely. Hogan is a gun and will be better at AFL level, the delivery into him today was bush footy standard - pathetic. Barry is going to be a VERY good player, I'd like to know where he hides though, goes missing a lot. One feels that at AFL level Barry would have no where to hide, I think he'll be a gun Barry. Tapscott and Strauss are ticking along ok at Casey.
  4. Yeah, if that side could get the ball in Barrys hands more - they'd be far better off. Good call on the delivery, it's shocking.
  5. Pederson gets 50 against him for rightfully telling the umpire what a pathetic decision it was.
  6. Nice kick by Dom Barry. Hogan dobs 5 in a low scoring encounter. Kid is nothing but a gun, would be clear no 1 if thrown in the draft, sides would be tanking for him!
  7. Thought Strauss looked alright off half back and Barry showing glimpses of what he is capable of, needs to go long though.
  8. I admire Hogan for even playing with these blokes, their disposal going inside 50 is woeful.
  9. The shape of Carltons list is irrelevant in this instance. What Carlton needed was a culture coach in the mould of Roos, Thompson, Hinkley or a Longmire. Carlton got Malthouse, who is far from a culture builder. Carlton needed a culture builder as they tanked and that is firmly ingrained within that team. Until Carlton strip themselves back and bare their souls, they will just be thereabouts.
  10. Perhaps we could persuade Lukes brother Jack to jump aboard?
  11. Dunstan wasn't a clean one touch stoppage player today. Perhaps it was a one off, but just on what I seen today - I'd be surprised if Dunstan goes top 3. Aish didn't have the best game, but the obvious class is there, not sure he will go 1-2 either. Scharenberg, Kelly and Sheed were standouts today. A common school of thought is that Sheed won't go top 6-7, his major knock being that he is one paced. Today, he was the best player I seen. Kelly was very good, runs all day and looks to have big upside. I think Kelly taken that game by the scruff at times today and got Metro back into it. Billings is considered a 5-15 pick, I doubt we'd take the punt on him early, but I wouldn't complain if we did.
  12. Kelly or Scharabberg, no complaints either of those guys. Would be good to have picks 2 and 3, that would be a dream.
  13. Roos would be a dream. If he does coach, his ego would never let him be a failure as a coach. No doubt Roos will be weighing this one up very carefully, because if he takes us on - he won't want to fail himself. If Roos comes, he will bring a very strong supporting cast, hopefully Kirk, which would be a dream panel. Roos could be waiting on the AFL to tick off a priority pick before he commits, there is little doubt that he would expect a priority pick.
  14. As far as rumors go, those players are all Viney picks. Todd Viney went up and watched Kent play and scouted him from WA. Being an SA bloke, it's fairly reasonable to assume that Viney had his eye on Clisby and Terlich. Neeld was too busy coaching to scout ANY of those blokes. Players we know for certain that Neeld did choose were Rodan, Pederson and Brynes. They are all not up to standard. Mark Neeld just simply wasn't up to it and in many facets of the game.
  15. I don't mind Hartung if he makes it to the second round.
  16. Sheed is a lock for mine, looked the best player all day. Was impressed with Scharenberg and Kelly - but wouldn't complain if we take Billings either. Would think Sheed and Kelly would be top 5 locks.
  17. Billings a better kick. Kelly has racked em up though, but I'd prefer Billings, he just looks so dangerous in the forward line. Billings going to be a gun player.
  18. Even with a broken collarbone, I'd take Sheed at 2. No hesitations at all, for all those that want Dunstan... Sheed would run rings around him.
  19. Sheed looks like the only player out there that could go early. Boasting his stocks, not many others doing themselves much justice IMO.
  20. Dom Barry isn't expected to do anything this year, kid came into the system very light on. Dom is going to be some player down the track, he is an exceptional talent.
  21. It's refreshing to read a positive thread about Toumpas. He played well on the weekend and continues to improve. One of Demonlands favorites for all the right reasons, well done Jimmy.
  22. Healy said that Roos has ruled himself out. So, it's down to 3 now. Williams, Eade and Craig.
  23. Chris Dawes should threaten to lay charges against Simpkin. If I were Dawes, I'd throw the idea up to the media of laying charges. Just to draw attention to the MRP lenient suspension.
  24. Anyone who can direct Watts where to run gets my vote, well done Jimmy.
  25. It's sad when certain media people like Connolly have to bag our club, in order to make their name more mainstream. Connolly is irrelevant as a journo and relatively unknown to the majority of the public, yet by bagging out the MFC day in day out, he gets his name out there. I guess that is the nature of the beast these days and it's pathetic.
