  1. laugh. Because there will be nothing left to do.
  2. Bruce and Green had a similar impact in their first season. 2000 was a great year. Would love to see that happen again.
  3. Welcome aboard. Allow me to summarise the entirety of Deemonland forums for you so you don't feel left out: I find gifs help ease the pain.
  4. Yeah, that's what I mean. Wouldn't mind the whole 'free education thing' but most of their stuff is a little nuts. Honestly if Abbott is actually the lesser of two evils, or if he just seems that way because he isn't scrutinised as much by the media. Turnbull as leader would give me *just* enough incentive to vote for the libs, but it doesn't seem likely. I think what I'd really like is an actual choice between two parties both presenting solid policies. I don't think I'll get it.
  5. Since Abbott is likely to win, yeah I'd worry about Abbott more than an incumbent who's on the way out. TBH I think the real issue is that both parties are currently so awful I honestly can't bring myself to vote for either one. Smaller parties are no help either, The Greens' mix of good and crackpot policies worries me greatly - as does their support of this current government. I wonder if Mercatroid the Grand Wizard is still around. Protest vote if ever there was one.
  6. I'm up for next year. This a lot of fun
  7. I'm told by a source who wishes to remain anonymous that Hogan was actually on board but they are keeping it under wraps. Apparently he farted and destabilised the plane. The military are now investigating how to use him as a WMD.
  8. Really? My wife and I couldn't get through it. The pacing was horrible I was falling asleep.
  9. Oz - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118421/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1 Probably the best TV Show I have ever seen. Set in a fictional US maximum security prison based on Sing Sing. There are no external shots (except for a dream sequence in season 4 I think) so it has kind of a claustrophobic feel. The music is.. off-putting, which is probably intentional. They don't want you to be comfortable while you watch. There are no innocent inmates. The show manipulates you into caring about murderers, you see their humanity and their depravity - both extremes often encapsulated in the same character. The themes centre around humanity, faith, sex, crime, race, society and hope. Quite a few episodes serve as treatments for American societal issues, often without condemning or condoning one side of an issue over another. And there's some Shakespeare thrown in for good measure. Episodes range from brutal to beautiful (in a strange way, it's hard to describe). Not for the squeamish as it can be quite graphic, but it is artistically justified. At no point does it cross the line of 'graphic violence for it's own sake' - it's always there as part of the narrative or to facilitate a character arc. I'm re-watching the series for the third time currently. My wife refuses to watch it with me. She says she can't take the 'heaviness' of it. I guess that's as good a word as any to describe it. It's not really current, I think it started in the late 90's and went for 6 seasons, but it's well worth watching.
  10. I'd love to get Miles to the MFC, he's hugely underrated.
  11. Sando say no http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-07-13/leave-sloane-alone-crows
  12. Because #13 will be the sweetest thing I've ever tasted after eating crap for my entire life thus far. Also this: Photo chosen for size comparison illustration.
  13. I'm legitimately worried about the future of our species. Hogan and Viney will both be playing a contact sport within metres of each other. If the unthinkable were to happen and they collided, I'm pretty sure the Australian east coast at a minimum will fracture, causing global flooding and ultimately dooming many of us. Fortunately the incident is unlikely to injure either player, who could then rescue the rest of us from drowning. The real problem is if the collision launches one or both of them into space; neither one of them will be able to save us. Fortunately I plan to use Lucas Cook as a floatation device.
  14. I was really disappointed with Nicholson's turnovers in the first quarter. Put us right behind when we shouldn't have been. Overall though I'm happier with that game than I should be for a loss.
  15. Didn't he hit the post running into an open goal square from about 20m out last week?
  16. Fantastic! I can't believe this wasn't broadcast - at least on Foxtel or 7mate or something! I couldn't even watch the game on the AFL subscription app on my tablet, such a disgrace. Thanks so much for the link. Right after dinner I'm going to set myself with YouTube and some popcorn. Just curious since I haven't seen it yet - how many of the players would look at home in a men's AFL side?
  17. Just seen that I have you this week, should be a nice easy win for you, I don't think I'll be able to field more than 16 players (if that).
  18. Yeah DeeVoted is going to put a system in place where the best of all 3 leagues all end up in one league, middle group in another, and bottom group in another. We just need to report the results to him of the other 2 leagues at the end of the year and he'll sort it out. Still unsure if it will be determined based on overall score, ladder position or a mix of both. I'm hoping for a promotion out of the rookies myself, but the competition is pretty tough across 3 leagues.
  19. Best thing I've read today. Some of our hard workers are not capable players, and vice versa. Very interesting, had not thought of it from that perspective before.
  20. I think Collingwood have said that they won't make Eade (or any of their staff) available for interview until after the season has finished in order to minimise disruption to their players. But I've got to say, looking at that clip from 360, it does look like he wants it.
