    Garry Lyon

I thought it was a decent article to be honest, and highlighted hypocrisy well. Just like the hypocrisy here with you and WJ, where you can label a female journalist as "vile", yet the alleged behavior, treachery and lies of an ex-footballer are ignored, and posters of this forum are encouraged not to discuss because, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, it is a private matter. Pathetic hypocrisy. Even Mark Yobbo Yobinson can see it. You don't have to be intellectually adequate.
  2. Not talking about the club internally here, but us supporters and back-slappers. Why the hell is Garry Lyon a protected species? Why can't we have the guts to talk about the hottest football topic right now? Why does admin close down this speech which should be free? Didn't Garry, comment about Wayne Carey a decade or so ago? In fact, Garry has been the arbitrator on all matters right and wrong in footy, on and off the ground. We all make mistakes; but we shouldn't be connecting an error of judgement with a "psychological issue". Unfortunately, this is creeping into all big mistakes in life. The best get-out-of-jail-card of all time. How far have we come as a supporter base when we can't even talk about this issue right now. Jack Viney would say to all us, "just follow netball FCS". We are still soft with a softer underbelly. And....and...if admin want to slap me on the wrist for such an "aggressive" (according to softies) or "robust/opinionated" (according to normals) viewpoint, then I'm gunna just play the old "I have been depressed lately" card. Unbelievably ultra soft. Hannibal, come back and harden this place up. Please.
  3. 1. Offensive coaching. 2. Jack Viney as a goal-kicking offensive mid (15 goals?) 3. MFC supporters and staff veil of positivity that has been buried since Brad Miller killed them in a Freo final. Not many saw the cliff-face that was coming. 4. Dean Kent to sprint toward Mike's 50 in 2 years if he can stay injury free.
  4. Like Beelzebub said, the 'launch', I suspect is the go-to man out of the congestion that is ideally a good user by foot....ala Salem. In VAFA circles, the 'fifth', as I understand it, is usually referenced to high HFFs pushing up to a stoppage; but I can't be sure about this morning and the context.
  5. Seriously?
  6. Don't know if it was a closed session, or MFC supporters didn't want to get wet, but hardly anyone viewing this morning at Gosch's paddock. Rehab - Vince, Dawes, H Main group - Frost trained. Couldn't see Watts. Petracca left before main drills. Jogging/Walking - Max King I only stayed an hour, but Goodwin took them for slow-mo full-ground, low-pressure stoppage work. D50 stoppages, midfield stoppages, offensive boundary stoppages. Interesting to notice that at every stoppage, the "fifth", the "launch" and the "stalker", amongst other roles and positions need to be identified. At the end of it, the goal kicker had to pull the trigger under pressure. Weed, Kent +/- Frost kicking truly. pTGR
  7. Hope he plays again. Definitely a top 10-15 player still at most clubs in my book.
  8. SKOB FC are nervous. Who will hit the ball down to Bail and Co.?
  9. Well lets just wipe off every year bar our premiership years from the history books. Can you lend me a few pounds?
  10. Just thankful it aint the knee. Little toe is nothing. Should be jogging next week with altered insole.
  11. Don't know if this guy will be on the park a lot in 2016. How many AFL players have had a mobile disc replacement in the neck and returned without a hitch? Maybe the club could have waited for contact training to start before jumping the gun with an announcement IMO.
  12. He only actually realised the sacrifices over the past 12 months. Most potential draftees realise it at least 3-4 years beforehand. In 2014, Oliver was "tubby" according to a few teammates at the Bushrangers. If you consider how far he has come in a short time of "discipline over indulgence" (Lyonism), the upside you see might actually be higher.
  13. Petracca ...as well as Petracca.
  14. Exactly. Trading picks is about leveraging on a position you expect. We obviously think the corner will be turned.
  15. Paul Roos rarely gets it wrong with bringing in underrated talent, and letting players go. Kennedy looks alright to me. Worth the punt. He is manic and quick. I rate Howe more than most here, and would have been more comfortable with a higher price for him. But having said that, I have faith in Roos.
  16. Speed - Not quick Direction Change - Not Sam Mitchell-like Grunt - Not significant Skills - OK Will we miss him - No Why did we draft him - I dont know
  17. At least Roosy/Goody get another maniac on the field in the Red and Blue.
  18. I like Melksham's intensity, toughness, ability to kick a goal, and age bracket. But what Buck says about Melksham is spot on. He does nothing to address our line-breaking and speed needs.
  19. For those that are unsure about Walker, have a look at his efforts in the final against Freo at Skilled Stadium a couple of years ago. That game alone showed he aint AFL quality.
  20. For an introverted team with probably the lowest bouncing stats in the comp (pre-2015), you are wrong; he did add something. He played injured for most of the year. I will come to the conclusion about him next year, rather than just repeating what some bloggers are repeating. I don't expect a lot from H, and I haven't since 2011, but I will buy some his stock at the low price.
  21. I think it is more reasonable to "copy" where the Bulldogs are going, rather than trying to emulate a team that has been labelled by some as the greatest of all time. This team, had the fortune to get it right and have early picks, in a couple of super-drafts. Then, they had the fortune after this stockpiling, for the league to introduce 2 expansion clubs that prevented teams underneath from rebuilding quickly. You can copy the Hawthorn model, and good luck to you; but you will be wasting your time. I'm with ProDee. You need a mobile forward line that can defend transition out. For what it is worth, Hawthorn's forward line is not slow. Roughead is super quick for his height/weight. Gunston, Breust, Poppy & Cyril don't allow hesitant defenders any time at all.
  22. Gee wiz, I didn't missed Mr. Umm or Mr. Cliche...... Would not have added one iota if he had have appeared. His idea of captaincy is nicking off early when he can, or staying in Melbourne.
  23. Mitchell surely wants back to Victoria. Melksham is tough, can kick a goal, and Goody has seen him up close. Still need outside run though.
