Racial Vilification of Harley Bennell
The police need to charge people who do this sort of thing. The social media platforms need to have a process to verify users identity, perhaps even using a mobile phone account, so that people can be identified and held to account.

MFC supporting mental health and wellbeing
As a club we do some seriously good work and are always on the right side of these sort of initiatives. When supporters bemoan that our club doesn't back it's players when they stuff up in the way that clubs like Collingwood does, it's because they are busy doing worthwhile things like this. On a side note, as a parent who has experienced the cluster [censored] that is home learning, I'm not looking forward to another term of it. Reckon the kids will get very good at fortnight during the next 6-8 weeks.

NON MFC: Round 06
Good thing the AFL rushed through the Clarkson holding the ball interpretation change, has really opened up the scoring.

Craig Jennings Analysis of Dees Game Plan
I'm with you on this Leoncelli that we aren't playing the same as last year and have fixed alot of deficiencies. A bit more composure to pick the right option in our forward half and executing better will make a massive difference.

Craig Jennings Analysis of Dees Game Plan
I'd take some of this with a grain of salt. Jennings says that our key problem is a 30 second fix that can be addressed through some positional changes. He also references changes to the way St Kilda played under Richardson. It is easy to point out issues and how to solve them from a position where you have no responsibility for the outcome.

Dees to win flag
It's a good question BW511. I think we are in quite a different position to last season in that we have our best forward and backline finally playing, and we are much stronger around the ball, with one key problem that our ball use in the forward half from our midfield is deplorable. If we look at the key offenders being Oliver, Viney and Brayshaw, we know that Oliver can kick well when he slows down a bit, Brayshaw is very skillful on both sides of his body and was massive in 2018 when he finished 3rd in the Brownlow largely due to his inside 50 entry. Viney isn't a great kick but his decision making has been the main problem. Bennell will be back in the sidevery soon to bring some outside class and Petracca will be more damaging if he can get on the outside and kick more often. I feel this year is much different to last despite the same outcome of poor inside 50 entry and goal kicking. I reckon we will find out in the next 5 weeks.

We're paying $81 which I wouldn't mind dropping a cheeky $100. Just not sure I'm willing to sign up to a gambling app.

Dees to win flag
I hear what you are saying Lord Travis but I don't think our conversion problem is as hard a fix as it seems. Re wins needed, we are 2 wins out of the 8 and all but one of the teams in the 8 have played an extra round to us. 10 wins should be enough, which is the Essendon match + 8 of the next 12 rounds. I seriously don't think we are in anywhere near as bad a position as supporters and the media report

Dees to win flag
I reckon we are in good shape for a tilt at the flag this year and here are my reasons; 1. Eight matches into round 5 we are sitting at 1-3. Improve our composure in forward half and we are likely to find ourselves at 3-3 by the end of round 6. 2. Our list is fit, with no injuries to our best 33 players. The expected compressed fixture will work in our favour with ability to back up matches every 4-5 days through fitness and ability to rest and rotate players across all lines. 3. Our contest work is a real strength and much better than last season. Defensively we are holding up well and despite some poor discipline re being switched on we are keeping teams to a low score. 4. Our ball use can be addressed through our team playing together more, playing more than two matches in a row tweaking game style and bringing in better ball users, e.g. Harley Bennell and Nathan Jones. 5. Goodwin's management style is very much process based, we saw this in 2018 where once we got going we were the most dominant team for decent parts of the season. The next 4-5 weeks will tell us alot. I'm confident we can turn things around and be at 6-4 heading into the last 7 rounds.

On the Couch - The Red Zone
At the risk of making excuses, last year is not a good comparison given the lack of players and need to play players out of position week to week with our revolving door of injured players. We were without players in our best 22 more than 30% more than the next worst team which meant we lacked any ability to build cohesion. This season has all over the place with Richmond and West coast being poor and us a game behind and having only played two weeks in a row for the first time v Richmond. Let's see how we go over the next 5 games to see how we go with some degree of continuity and more than 4 weeks of training together as a team.

Schwarz: 'Dees are irrelevant'
While the result is that we poorly execute skills I don't see it as a skill issue, but more about poor decision making which includes picking the wrong option and second guessing ourselves to. Whether it is a lack of confidence, poor game plan, lack of cohesion across lines or all of the above only the club really knows.

Sidebottom and Dunn investigated for Multiple Covid Breaches
I can understand Dunn and Sidebottom having a couple of beers with Howe given his injury and with Dunn recovering from bad knee injuries. It is also strange times when we are deriding players for catching an Uber rather than driving after some beers, but what they did puts the league at risk so should have a penalty. Re Spargo and the MFC accepting the penalty, I haven't problem with this as it becomes a distraction given he was foolish and deserved two weeks and wouldn't be cracking into the team anyway with AVB, Hannan, HB, Jones and ANB ahead of him. Eddie can carry on all he likes, it doesn't have any impact on our pursuit of our next flag.

Sidebottom and Dunn investigated for Multiple Covid Breaches
I love it that Collingwood are negotiating with the AFL. Surely for such breaches there is a prescribed penalty and the club has a hearing but the penalty is determined based on the breach and associated penalty not a negotiated outcome.

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
After a poor 4 or 5 games last year having had surgery on both if his ankles before a couple of solid games, the first of which he racked up close to 30 touches on the wing and the second of which he kicked 4 goaks in a half before injuring his knee. I thought he was decent today, provided a target and consistently brought the ball to ground to halve contest, not to mention a string grab and goal.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Elgat, the person who started this petition is an absolute moron and the people that have signed it aren't much better. I have a real issue with people who have no experience selecting a senior coach trying to influence the club's decision making with this sort of action. If you don't have confidence in how our club is being run than run your own ticket, but for the people involved in this petition try and influence the club's decision making re changing coaches without any responsibility or accountability on their part makes me furious. We've got good people running our club and if they don't think Goody will bring us success then they will make a decision based on an informed understanding of his performance, not the emotional whims of a bunch of supporters and agitators.

Racist Comment Targetting Nev
Well said deegirl. To me the movement against racism is about us as a society speaking up against racism. If someone says something racist, pull them up on it regardless of the forum. Also I'll put my hand up as someone who has even recently made racially inappropriate comments among close friends as a joke, a form of casual racism which really isn't funny. On reflection I've made a commitment to stop this and also pull up others for the same thing, as this will make a positive difference to society.

Racist Comment Targetting Nev
It's a shame that people can simply deactivate an account and make a new one. Social media would be much better if peoples identities are verified and even if using an alias cannot simply create another account. There needs to be more accountability for what people post and for the social media platforms to verify every members identity.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Absolutely love this. I cannot imagine what it would be like as a professional athlete rehabbing over and over through 25 calf strains. It's a testament to Bennell's resilience and persistence to pursue the game that he loves and glad that he's feeling fresh and settled well in the club. Lookingforward to see him build throughout the year and imagine the damage we can do with Bennell and AVB playing half forward, both inspirational with special talents.

Redbull/MFC Mini Advertorial in The Age...
Then Max should neck another at half time, more exposure for Red Bull and gives him a pep up for the second half. That's what I call a win/win my friend.
