  1. Frawley also came out and said he has no plans to leave.
  2. Don't forget that Swan usually has 40 possessions against good sides. He's the kind of player you can't stop same with Ablett. Hopefully one day we will have a player like that.
  3. I don't know if Neeld can coach but I can tell you one thing, I would be bloody frustrated coaching this side. Our problem is nothing to do with our structures and everything to do with our players brain power. They make poor decisions and turn it over time after time after time. Neeld can't improve their IQ's some of them are just not up to scratch. The only way out is to continue to draft the best young talent and keep working with them until eventually we will at least have half a team with ok skills rather than 3 or 4.
  4. Not sure he would leave W.A. and to be honest he doesn't need to work I think he has a pretty successful business over there probably looking to retire.
  5. Couldn't be any worse than what we have.
  6. Well if you can remember 3 weeks ago Fitzpatrick was also dominating and big Max seemed a bit tired after playing the first 6 or 7 games. So Fitzpatrick came in for Gawn's spot so basically you want to drop Fitzpatrick after one game?
  7. I don't want to see us panicking over a poor season and trading high picks for seasoned players, like Voss at Brisbane. If we want to be able to match it with the Gold Coast and GWS in the not to distant future we have to back ourselves in to draft high end midfield talent and develop them. I want us to use whatever top picks we have to get the best midfielders available and then try and trade/free agency for older players to add some experience such as a Cross or Corey someone like that. We should then look at trading our 2nd round pick for a fringe mid such as a Miles from GWS. If Watts wants to go then we must get the best midfield talent for him maybe Rich for Watts could be a possible trade if Brisbane want a forward. I have a feeling Sylvia will stay because in the end we will have more money to offer him.
  8. I think we should put most of demonland on suicide watch after that comment.
  9. All our on field troubles are due to our midfield. It's lacking experience, talent and time. I would say the bulk of our midfield would have only played a handfull of games together. Get a midfield and we will fly up the ladder I guarantee it. F**k it I'll run for president.
  10. Is this what Jobe Watson said to Watts the other day?
  11. I'd rather be on the road to trying to be like a Swans type side then continuing on 'BRUISE FREE' footy. I think we actually won the contested possesion against the Hawks which is a decent effort. That's the type of style I want my side to play.
  12. Yeah we all know how poor our drafting and development has been. Although I actually think since Neeld took over our drafting has been pretty decent. I know Gillies isn't much chop and Byrnes and Rodan are old but we needed some experience so that is why we got them. But Viney, Hogan, Kent, M.Jones, Terlich all look to be decent players and Clark and Dawes are obvious wins so really the new direction they are taking seems to be right just may take time.
  13. It's depressing I know I think about it often and wonder what was going through BP and DB's heads?? You can see the difference in recruiting of the better sides like Sydney and Geelong, they get strong bodied kids who are up to the rigours of AFL footy. We drafted skinny racks who simply weren't up to it.
  14. There's many factors for that which has been done to death on here. I'm just gonna go watch them play with no expectations and watch certain players such as Toumpas, Kent and Evans as they are the future.
  15. Last season they looked like they couldn't win anything and got multiple floggings. They are also using the Collingwood press model and it's starting to work for them. Takes time for the team to get good at it something to think about...
  16. Definitely one we should try hard to get, as well as Anthony Miles he never gets any game time and is pretty decent ball winner. After watching the Swans dismantle the Crows today I would love for us to go for one of their fringe players such as Bird just to bring that culture that they have. Just an incredible side who are so tough that is exactly what I want the Dees to be one day.
  17. Yeah it could turn quickly. We all know our midfield is deplorable at the moment. But if we can get some high quality mids I think we are decent everywhere else.
  18. Is the fact we have a lot of young players dominating VFL good for our future? The side seems to be doing really well. Or is it more fool's gold?
  19. Yeah it's becoming rather boring the keep neeld sack him argument. I definetly think he made life harder for himself by coming in and getting rid of some of our players but I was actually happy with that and not one of them I cared to keep besides Rivers but he chose to leave. And I've since hear people saying that he was too hard, well f**k me we obviously had a lot of soft players. I just watched Chris Scott absolutely slam his players and they are sitting second on the ladder. If we have players who don't like being yelled at in a football team then they really aren't up to it. So I'm willing to see what Neeld can do for the remainder of this season and probably next. At least he likes hard tough players which is something the Demons side has never been, at least in my lifetime.
  20. I don't think there are too many 'stars' that we will have a chance in getting Red&Blue. I think our best option is to go for older experienced free agents for our midfield such as, Cross, Adam Selwood, Mitchell or someone like this. And then draft some quality young mids to learn off them. If we get Dale Thomas then that would be great but at present not many players in their prime would be looking to come to us. By getting a few experienced mids who can help increase pour competitiveness we will then become a more attractive option for star players.
  21. The fact is supporters will stop going when teams are losing and then will return when they are winning. I used to live in W.A. and the West Coast supporters are notorious for this, packed house when they are winning and half full stadium when they are losing. And that is from a side that has had quite a lot of success recently. No decision should be made on a coach or any person employed by the club based on supporter numbers. It must be made based on the job they are doing. Now I'm not saying that Neeld is the right man but if Jackson and the board take in what Neeld is trying to implement and think it is the right way forward then they must back him. If however they don't think he is on the right track then they should let him know and then possibly sack him. No football decision should be based on the number of supporters at games. And in regards to the Ox, he is obviously very passionate which is great but he should really work on directing it the right way. Putting down the club is not the way to help.
  22. No ones thinking small we are just trying to come up with ideas for the club to gain a profit and playing out of a boutique ground is one of them. In regards to the TPP scheme that Eddie proposed I don't think it is a good idea and isn't sustainable. There must be other ways to assist all strugling clubs not just us but giving them a bit of a boost up. I did mention on a different thread the idea of giving bottom clubs first access to mature age recruits from around Australia ouside of the drafts. I also think that instead of a priority pick they should have a 'special' pick given to struggling clubs that can be used in the same way as the GWS mini-draft picks but must be traded for a player. This could be a middle first round pick or end of first round that you must trade to get something out of it. Increasing salary caps opens a whole can of worms that is very hard to regulate and isn't the way forward.
