Today was without doubt crushing for the supporters who place so much of their heart and soul into this club. To lose to such a undermanned team in these circumstances with our strongest team is soul destroying. I deeply feel for every single supporter of this club who deserve much better for loyalty and patience. Ascobar - you speak with sense and I fully understand your position. Peter Jackson must be wondering what the hell can be done to get into the heads of the playing group.

Tom McDonald needs to take a good hard look at himself.

If TMac and many others want to walk the walk at the top level, then NOW is the time to get your damn game in order. Consistency for this bloke should be part of his game. FFS Tom get off second base and lead. We need leaders not clumsy types who fumble their way around a footy field. TMac always looks good on the training track, like so many others at this club. when going into battle they turn into bumbling b graders. If it was easy to walk away I would do it in a heartbeat, sadly I am nailed on. -
How many line in the sand moments? They keep asking supporters to hang in. Where is the pride, steel, and want to win mentality? I just cannot fathom why we keep doing this.

This is beyond poor! The club continues to sell false hope and lie to its supporters who stick fat year in and year out The coaches and players must be be full of [censored], Competitive team my backside! Pea hearted sooks who embarrass their supporters beyond belief. Essendon whoever they are just have more heart than our mob. This is just putrid disgusting and highly embarrassing. Set us back for the remainder of 2016 as the laughing stock. Screw you Melbourne!
-
That may be so. His football career will be forever marked by dollars, not what he achieved as a player. He does not give a [censored] however, there is a long list of players that did not and have not done what Scully did, we are not all driven by the poxy dollar.

I notice with interest that many players are signing new contracts regardless of pending AFLPA agreement! Also of interest that MFC players not doing the same, ie: TMAC and Watts. Just an observation .

If Dustin Martin was not a footballer he would be on a plane as well. Happy to see Australia get rid of these scumbags and out of our way. They add nothing to society and give others grief in life!!! Anybody who has a tattoo above the shoulders is dead from the neck up... good riddance.

Remember very fondly. Was at the ground on the day Ox kicked 9. Great memory.

Sheedy is a freak show from the past. For all Dees fans going - this is our time not the drug cheats. We must not be intimidated by this mob in any fashion whatsoever, just let them make fools of themselves which they will. I will be turning my back when it comes to any celebrations they conduct. the MFC must not be embarrassed by this mob!!!!!!
-
The Essendon Football Club continue to be the most arrogant bunch of delusional knobs in this industry. For them to march in support of drug cheats is simply astonishing! They have learnt NOTHING during this whole sorry saga. Their supporter base and organisers of this stupid march from Fed square is another example of blind defiance and denial of drugs in sport. This is not anything to celebrate. They are arrogant fools. The Dee's will smash them!

Saturday Talking Point: Game Day 27/2/16
Soidee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Toughness and ball movement a big improvement. Damn good effort for first hit out! Our decision making is still a big worry, for example T Mac. Cannot fault his endeavour, however by now he should be showing more maturity and poise under pressure. He seems to have all the tools, size, speed etc, but brain into gear gene needs work. -
Like it or lump it, highly skilled AFL players in the modern era have clubs, supporters and the game itself in a squirrel grip!! I keep hearing everybody needs to bend over for the modern footballer...lets hope the Dee's and the institution that gives these guys a living gets a good break with Jesse. This club needs a good break after the last 10 years of rot.
-
Jesse is doing the right thing with new bargaining agreement in the pipeline. He has only played 20 games, I am not panicking because we will have Roos, Jackson and Goody who will do everything in their power to sign him to the club long term. Peter Jacksons most important task before he leaves us is to sign up all our young stars on long term contracts. Otherwise all his work to date will be in vain. in PJ we trust!

Yeah much nicer climate if you enjoy stinking hot summers for 8 months a year. Perth is good if you can withstand the extreme heat and cost of living. Personally I prefer Melbourne lifestyle with much more choice and cheaper eating out.

Dawes - Nuff said! $600,000 a season.....

I acknowledge the prospectus is based on previous season, however it is one of the best resources based purely on statistics. I don't live my life based on stats, but when you read through the book it is fairly accurate in respect of mid range players who are highly unlikely to improve that much in the future. Insofar as the dees are concerned, Matt Jones is a case in point. We have a number on our list who will not get better, and that is my point. We have more than our share of those who won't get better. On the positive side we have at least 12-14 players who have heaps of improvement in them with our young top 7 or 8 who can reach greatness. The potential is there and all the more reason to sign up Hogan and those who can take us into finals.
-
Having now had a good look at the Prospectus my expectations have been watered down for the long suffering demons. Its a great reference but also gives pause for thought when it comes to your own team. My enthusiasm for the dees in 2016 remains buoyant, however after reading the prospectus it is obvious our depth is still a major concern. Lets hope and wish that Macca develops Petracca, Oliver, Weideman, Brayshaw, Salem and Hogan and they stay injury free and all get long term contracts. Those guys will be the core of any success along with Viney, Gawn, Mcdonald brothers, and Jonesy. Other than those named, it drops off rapidly and we still need to recruit some decent cattle to make top 4 in the coming years. Still hopeful of a better year in 2016 and knocking on the door of the 8. We all still wait and wish!!!!

Balme's comments are misguided and simply mischief. Regardless of where you sit on this matter, WADA, CAS and ASADA are the bodies for drugs in sport. We have all seen how the AFL conducts itself when trying to police these matters. I am surprised with Balme's comments, maybe it's time he took a global view outside of his tiny backyard.
-
Holmes questioning was pathetic. Fairly disgraceful interview and frankly a total waste of time. Hird continues to lie unabated.
-
Dawes again in the rehab group come January. Has this bloke completed a full pre season since joining us? One of the highest paid on our list.....injury prone and frankly has not made an impact.

Training, Friday 18th December, 2015 (and BBQ)
Soidee replied to Longsufferingnomore's topic in Melbourne Demons
I went along and great to see a decent crowd for December. As for the hot weather......yes hot everyone, however with all the comments about heat, anyone would think we live in the African Desert. It's Australia everybody!!!! It's summer !!!!! We live in a bloody hot country and why is everyone so damn surprised? I woke up this morning and all the media outlets are telling us how to handle the heat. FFS we are turning into a nanny society full of precious puppies. Our ancestors felled forests in 40 degree summers without going home to aircon. Pleeeeeeeeese -
Heard that Hogan had his knee heavily strapped... Is that correct?
-
Martin is a bogan who plays football. Gutless drunken fool who decides to bully a woman, the AFL should hit this [censored] between the eyes and ban him for 10 games, nothing less will be suitable for the bogan who wears a marsupial on his head.

Has Brayshaw trained at all with the group so far? Not sighted much.
