  1. For all of those wondering how Jesse will fit back in given he flirted with Freo, imagine how it will be for Neale and Freo if they don’t trade him. Neale has publically come out and said I don’t want to be at Freo next year! AND he’s a free agent at the end of 19. It’s way worse fr Freo and Neale than the dees and hogan. Not out of the realms of possibility, if Bell doesn’t trade him, that Neale consider sitting out fr the year. Hogan having an outstanding year, and Freo finishing bottom 3 with no Neale or hogan would be too delicious .
  2. what are they saying?
  3. If I were Jesse I would think that wraps up any thought of playing for Freo ever now. If they dont value him or want him then we all move on and they can stop bugging him every year. Imagine for a moment if Jesse is playing well next year and in the top 3 or 4 goalkickers...and the dees are in the top four. Imagine how dispirited the players at Freo will feel about this and how stupid Bell will feel. Plus they have dicked around the trade period for a week...joke of a club. Jesse to Freo is over for GOOD now. Jesse to WC might be in play next year more likely for players than picks or a mix. But lets see if we can Jesse back up and about after his foot injury and stamp his name as a dominant key forward.
  4. Ok..but Im still really surprised that they're meeting in the middle of trade Week. Feels very last minute and another way to stall. But to be fair I really dont know how these things are usually organised.
  5. You think they might have gathered together a little earlier than this hey. Somehow this seems a little shambholic to me. oh wait...the jesse deal...maybe we could get him...lets have emergency meeting of the board to see if we want him. This has been known for at least a month and probably more and theyve been chasing hi for YEARS. . As a side point...Seven smart people sitting together doesnt ensure a stupid decision wont be reached .
  6. Beat me to it 11, He was tested A WEEK AGO....before he went to Bali. Circus continues.
  7. wow....I cant remember another time tbh. Not in the last 47 years anyway.
  8. The trouble is they got rewarded last year when they held out and then got pick 2 for Mav Weller. That stupid deal might have emboldened them. No way are we as dumb / deperate as GC were back then and no way will nay club be pressured by them after that.. So Bell can micromanage all he likes. In the end, If he stalls and then gets neither, he faces massive pressure himself. It would be an an epic fail to start off his tenure as recruiting manager..oops CEO. People will wonder why he got involved in the first place. If this starts getting close to the wire the heat well and truly comes back on him...ego or no.
  9. the obvious question really. Whats his thoughts on his successor?
  10. so much revealed in the word "yet" isnt there. The only thing In our favour in that stupid article is that the value of Preuss is being talked down. Maybe theres really no such things as "news" in the media anymore...in politics or sport. maybe its ALL just opinions now and who can make theirs the loudest. Eg. Theres no envinmental issue....Yes, there is one...no there isnt etc. The more loud , more stupid and more opinionated the better for paper sales I guess. Depressing world we live in atm. Or maybe it was always like this and Ive just gotten old.
  11. lol..good to have a laugh.
  12. In your opinion do you think its a just part of negotiating tactics...or genuine cold feet
  13. hmmm...Think we may have to get our heads back around him staying now by the feel of all of this. IF it goes the way Chook is flagging that it may, then Jesse would be well chastened . More determined than ever.
  14. Apologies if this is already up here somewhere...I just cant bring myself to read back 15 pages when nothing has actually happened! Gary Buckenara in the sun said this about jesses value. " There is an element of buyer beware with Hogan, however, given he has a long history of injury and illness that would be of concern. Plus there are the attitude issues with his body language and negativity that have been well-documented.I don’t think he’s worth two first-round picks. I place his trade value at an early first-round pick and maybe a swap of second-round picks, but those injury and performance issues impact the Demons’ ability to get a sweetener" As much as I hate to admit it ( please dont shout at me) he may well be right. If i think of Oliver leaving its internal hysteria and wanting to two top 5 picks. Hogan is not affecting me and many here in the same for the reasons I think that Bucky lists.
  15. I think Freo are playing hard ball with Neale so that pick is not actually on the table fr us to try to grab. They will let that trade go to the last minute. Why not? Suits their purposes to go slow but we, on the other hand, will need to act early if we want May. Probably means we will argue fr pick 5 and their next years first rounder.
  16. I’m sure it’s been raised somewhere here and burnt down as a thought. But.... thinking back to Geelong and Dangerfield they traded a first rounder ( pick 9 ?) to Adelaide for him when he was a Rfa as gaff is now. Adelaide were threatening to match any offer but, aside from that, it also helped danger feel he was taking care of his old club. I’m wondering ( given we get 2 first rounders fr Hogan) if we made an offer of one of these picks to WC for Gaff. Especially given how his season ended with all the support he got, it might Help him choose us over others. In Dangerfields case it allowed the cats to pay unders in salary also and opens that possibly fr us too.
  17. hmmm...if he hasnt been able to even get a game at GC this year , in his second year in the system, Id be thinking he's probably a bust
  18. that can be equally true even if you're not actually a player lol.
  19. hmmm...Lets package him up with Salem and go for Kelly.
  20. Yep its accurate. She said she felt "uncomfortable" every time she walked past it...but went on to add that what Melbourne did to its players in those years was "Just as bad" as Essendon. I mean FFS. I cant remmember ever putting their lives at risk???!! Anyway It went largely unnoticed because it was on the Age Tuesday podcast after we smashed Geelong in the elimination final. But IF its around that comment then I agree she deserved it.
  21. hmmm well... in terms of the equality of the draw, marquee slots to big but underperforming clubs, crap times to smaller clubs who need exposure, changing the rules of the game to suit TV executives, crap deals for smaller clubs at ethiad ....and ( I could go on) this infringement seems pretty minor.
  22. If he's really set on going home, I think its entirely understandable that we, as supporters, try to focus on his shortcomings. His injuries, his pace, his leap, his defensive pressure or what have you. Its a way to feel better. I think deep down we all know he's a gun.....whether some of the mentioned "flaws" derail his trajectory into a lynch type player only time will tell. But we all know he's a gun , at some level, anyway. His dad died and he had his own brush with cancer. No small things for a 20? year old . Both things can make you wonder about family and where you belong. Him going this year at least lets us trade for him. we're in the happy position where its possible we may not go backwards ( perhaps, depending on trades, even take a tiny step forward) without him. Lets make the best of this we can
