I do Feel [censored] off that Jake was attacked by Burton and Walker tho. Unfortunately all that does, in this day and age, is make Adelaide a less attractive destination for interstate players and turn them into utter hyprocrits the next time someone comes their way. Hoping none of it impacts Jake too badly and he's welcomed into our team , as it seems like he's been super upfront about things w everyone.

well I hope the players are ALSO angry about missing out on the finals. This guy can make that dream much more possible. Plus I also think that anyone recruiting Lever would be paying around this much.. So we shouldnt make a play for him as players will be angry?? Of course a united playing group is crucial, and I do hear your point, but this team needs improvement or none of them ( or us) will ever taste a premiership. Surely players would be happy knowing that we're a team that can recruit and build our way to success not settle into the middle.

Loved ricky too. he so alllllllmost won us the THAT prelim final against the hawks with a blistering run in the last few minutes of the game. If my memory serves me right he handballed to yeats 20 meters out , in space, slight angle who rushed his kick and missed. The image is etched on my brain. Bit sad to remember he only actually played 80 games.

The only other club that I can think of that made at least as many mistakes as we did was......Richmond.

yep...their lack of loyality really came back to bite them didnt it! But I have to say they DID get a good deal on lids. We need a decent trade on Watts....or it will hurt.

Im a Watts fan but feel as internally divided as this thread about the decision. Watching Watts kick the winning goal v pies was one of THE highlights of the season for me....seemed to right a few wrongs from the past. I, like many here, are invested in him. He has class and is definitely imporving. Against that, when I watched the game yesterday, I was reminded about how hard youve got be as a team to win a GF. Honestly I think Jack would hardly have got a kick. Even Taylor walker struggled and, with due respect to Watts, he's not near that class. The game seems to be trending to smaller forward lines ( I feel again the pain of the choice of Weid over Curnow) and while I think Watts could win us ( or whoever he plays for) a few games in the home and away season I dont see him standing up in finals. If we trade him I want value for it...he's way more than a throw away. As I said Ive invested in him and like him so It hurts my heart a bit to say it..... but I think , if we're serious about a flag, hes a trade. Yesterdays game convinced me.

Agreed. We already paid 2 x first rounders for Hogan and since then he's proven himself at this level. If we were gonna lose him then that deal would be one I could well and truly live with.

yep agreed. Sounds the most plausible explanation...he'll hopefully also be super aligned with main team and Goodwin which is even better.

Agreed BB. The humanist in me wants him to play...but according to the rules of the game he's gone imo. He should have gone already TWICE this season and you just cant have a different rules for different players no matter how good. Tucks his arm and goes for the bump....leaves an opposition player concussed and unable to continue. 100% a fine at least. Which mean he's gone

Agreed. Gone way too far now. He comes out and says..I want to play for x...it will all over. Dogs handled his trade badly and will pay for it.

Sorry LH but completely disagree. We had over 800,000 attend our games as well as playing Anzac day eve ( massive) and QB . We're on the threshold of some sustained success with some of the most exciting players going around. if THATS a hard sell....I'll eat my hat.

Agreed. I worry that a small club like ourselves will have our talent poached if we dont accelerate now. Its fun thinking about getting Gaff and or lever etc etc but one day clubs will be picking over our bones too. We have to take this opening. Given global warming the MCG might be underwater in 10 years...who knows. I say we go hard for the present moment .

Especially to Trenners and Jake hey. Gave their hearts to the club . Still feel sad about the loss of Trenners.....he must be gutted. seems like such a top bloke.

Interesting to read the thoughts on Weid here. Ive said it before but I reckon we go for broke now....trading Weid would be a massive risk, but worth it IF the upside was worth it. Ive also been intruiged by how well the Tiges have done and indeed the doggies did last year with a smaller, high pressure fwd line. the footy dept have got some massive decisions to make this off season.....decisions that I suspect will polarise us. Hopefully we make the right calls.....this could be the summer that defines our next few years.

Ive got the same bad feeling. Especially as the tiges may be bringing in an era of a high pressure, small forward line. Breaks out next year or he's a trade
