Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Hopefully we can make the best offer to him having been the closest to his development and being aware of what is required to ensure his long term welfare. It could be a test for the club and can give a real message to all players of the genuine features of club loyalty. It's not always about a huge one off pay check. As a qualified human resources practitioner (retired) it was always clear cut that security, stability and autonomy, were always the best elements and drivers of worker performance. While recent industrial relations practice seems to concentrate on short term contracts with emphasis on salary, there is much emerging evidence that this may be less effective for productivity and progress of organisations.

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 09 vs Fremantle
How was Gillard omitted? Thought she was excellent last week. Young body not up to repeat efforts, didn't fit team structures, or just not able to commit as not full time athletes.

Vale Shane Warne
Burst on the cricketing field like a fire cracker, built and sustained his skill until his figures speak for themselves. Inspired so many. Off field he was always outrageous but honest forthright and acknowledged his weaknesses. He did live life to its fullest and while short did fill it with more than most do over a longer period. Leaves a legends legacy. condolences to those closest to him.

Docklands Stadium Makeover
Need to get the govt and AFL to recognise Fishermans Bend as a. location that can accommodate a facility that does not repeat the errors of the past. Rail and tram access direct to city tennis and MCG. Community facility with retail and service outlets for the population predicted there. These would then be used with event related outlets for entertainment spectaculars. Could incorporate admin, training, health and gym facilities that the club would use as home base for games and training. Members could be accomated with viewing for training and special club events. I know I bang on about this but why is this not a priority.Would be interested in comment from Lord Nev who I think has experience in the industry and others who may have knowledge of development in the area. Maybe Peter Lawrence could advise fund raising strategies in developing our own home base. Surely Kate Roffey is aware of State Government plans for this site and can advise why such a facility is not included in the total site deve, opment.

Are we capitalising on our on-field successes?
Could be a good role for Jones. Still recognised as an emblem of the club and will give him an opportunity to appraise future schools for his kids.

Daisy weighs up offer to join Geelong as AFL Assistant Coach
Seems like a great breakthrough. Recognition that knowledge and ability is not gender specific. Daisy has an abundance of both and is setting benchmarks everywhere. Will be valuable wherever she goes both for personal and organisation development.Only she is aware of her circumstances and I am sure she will make the correct decision. Wish her well whatever she does.Hope she retains her relationships with the Dees.

Are we capitalising on our on-field successes?
Sorry NC but cant resist especially as the G precinct plan seems as nebulous as FB. Im also presenting it as an opportunity for expansion with population growth maybe CBD has some potential, Docklands and some high density developments in Brunswick, Northcote etc but these are in already existing supporter strongholds. Im not opposed to Casey but we need to be serious if that's what we are going to do, it's just that it's a long way from the G. i hate that Collingwood have relocated to the G precinct and with Pichmond still firming its location it's a pretty crowded area i do see FB as a greenfield site that could be a new approach to our identity. Port Melbourne, and a new facility n a new but traditional are of the city

It is an issue that's related tour home. The split personality of the G and Casey does not help the message. i have been a constant advocate ofFishermans Bend site as it provides a future population as a core base membership. I have reconciled that this is closer to the Spiritual home at the G than Casey. There is little prospect of expanding membership in CBD, East Melb, Richmond, the G precinct and little chance to identify with a broader population. i think I read many years ago that our population concentration was actually in the Ringwood, NE metro region, not sure where it is now but I'm sure Admin know and will be looking how we expand. i agree that we are now in a new environment with a winning team and we need to leverage off that to increase our engagement with kids. Players visiting schools is a great way to do this. i also agree that if we are going to be apresence at Casey we should exploit our new status around that area. Even team jogging around the area will increase recognition and engagement. i have found it encouraging that AFL marketing now includes red and blue players highlights, they can't ignore us, so there is a subliminal recognition that needs to be exploited. A defined home location is essential to maximise our playing success. A progressive and major development at FB would show that we are genuine in our promotion of new investments with long term aims to reinforce our position as the Melbourne central club

Max and Jack painting
That muscle structure on BBB, would be structurally and physiologically correct given your profession, and I guess comes from a photo, but it's a better look than I ever saw when I was looking at him. Its not a complaint and should ensure BBB or his physio pay top dollar for the original. Im looking forward to similar definition on th other players. It was an issue I noted over the years that our boys bodies were just that ,boys, and slightly underdone. I noted that Jack and Riv came to the club as recruits with greater muscle definition.

Really good work Webber. im really looking forward to the tryptich hanging in my home to erase the memories of 57 years and provide a constant reminder of the glory. Wont have to navigate devices just look up and renew the joy and pride. I haven't had direct contact with Joeboy and thank you for your cooperation in arranging for framing. i will miss the first few matches and hope to catch up with you both in April at the G.

Membership Tally 2022
Include a transport hub in the centre so people can get there from suburbs before match and express to MCG
-
Membership Tally 2022
As quoted to DC plus I think the Gprecinct is maybe a little more sacred with less room for the required facility. I have previously suggested that Tigers go down to Tassie as the Tassie Tigers and we redevelop Punt road facility.

Membership Tally 2022
Certainly appear to be. I guess now that I live in Beechworth I look at the MCG precinct as a little larger than when I lived in Northcote. Access and parking appear to be more difficult but it was always resolved by staying around post game while crowds dwindled. it would be great after a match to get express train to Fishermans Bend entertainment training centre where car would be parked, maybe even overnight accommodation if required.

Membership Tally 2022
Thanks DC But can still build our membership if we have a presence there

Membership Tally 2022
Fair enough DC but I'm pretty sure that's the figure governments of bot persuasions have stated over the many years that this project was promoted.

Membership Tally 2022
I reckon if we build a new entertainment, training, community centre in Fishermans Bend/ Port Melbourne with its anticipated 800,00 new residents we could easily look at that membership.

MCG Redevelopment
There will be plenty of construction at Fishermans Bend. Would be a great place to build a new entertainment, sports, community centre. A boutique stadium for the Melbourne team.

Throwing away the whistle on GF day.
I wonder if the umpires were overwhelmed by the sentiment that Melbourne after 57 years deserved this premiership more than the dogs who had had recent success. Plus the WA crowd who seemed to be more supportative of the Dees providing the necessary noise quotient to action. It did seem like we got the rub of the green and in my 60 years of following this is a very rare thing. Umpiring decisions no doubt change games. i know that on statistical data we are not always paid less frees but I have certainly seen games where the balance was achieved only long after the game was lost. Free kicks paid in critical situations almost always went against us. Not in the grand final. Perhaps the umpires also recognised we were an unstoppable force after the Geelong matches. I have after called for the club to have a conference with the umpires as we were obviously deficient in our style of play, our tackling was poor or our positioning poor when blatant errors were made. We had no backs and no necks, there was certainly no protection of our heads while soft infringements for the other side were recognised. I always remember an occasion where a Melbourne player wa tripped with no free, and in the same game a Melbourne player was penalised for an attempted trip. Our technique was so poor we could not even execute a trip? I think we even had a player reported for an attempted trip. i hope the umpires do not revert to the give the Dees nothing approach this year and just as importantly that the players take the umpires out of it by just getting on with the game.

Training Ground?
Rowing n Nagambie, Sailing at Lakes Entrance or Yarrawonga, Horsham Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Wodnga, Bairnsdale, Gippsland all regional centres that would become me a centre of excellence for a specific sport. No need for duplication and promote movement with careful scheduling. Country folklove live sports and will provide a great base audience.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Might be worth referencing to Jacko or any player when contemplating contract renewal or extension.
-
Training Ground?
True there are some monstrosities in CBD also. No need for duplication . But build for potential return as Andrews has suggested. Regional facilities can allow utilisation for improved development within and across regions.
-
Training Ground?
Hey it's a great opportunity to spread the economic benefits to regional areas. It results in improved facilities to develop the next Trac, Oliver etc. Not opposed to Tassie for same reasons but regional Vic has been smashed with fires, floods, pandemic and these events support tourism . This activity still funnels through and highlights Melbourne while stimulating interest in the regional delights. Just make sure all regions are recognised and no colour coded rooting. Wait. Perhaps we can use all the upgraded gun clubs etc Go for it Dan
