  1. Are these the beginnings of the tryptich?
  2. There was movement at the oval????
  3. Could we start a price comparison with banana price and petrol? Then again it's all pretty irrelevant now that we are the reigning premiers. I trust we can maintain the entertainment provided by all our characters and continue winnng in appropriately artistic fashion
  4. I think you have stumbled on the governments method of operations. Just as AFL has taken footy from sport to entertainment , incompetent nonentities are moving the necessary actions of government into the realms of playing politics. People slowly switching off. Just as the price of bananas has been removed from conciousness so to will Novak now join the ranks of the Biloela two or the unnumbered refugees. Don't expect any rational or meaningful debate, but it will be entertaining.
  5. Me too SD. I want to see us with a full blown proposal for a Fishermans Bend/ Port Melbourne option. With corporate sponsorship and investment we can build a facility with admin, training, entertainment, gyms alternative sports , community and retail services to cater for the anticipated 800,000 new population. There's already an existing overlap with existing populations and it's not too far from the city and the existing Ron Barassi oval. We need to move on this early and get govt support for an innovative and complete complex.
  6. Should have acknowledged that you do see a lot more of the Casey and training sessions than most so really value and appreciate your comments.
  7. I agree that not much went right. But I did see him play live at Richmond where he and Brown combined for quite a few goals. Both played well and both covered a lot of ground to make contests and created opportunities. I thought I saw a few games on TV as well where Weid scored a couple. It's more difficult to see off play movement etc. I felt he was still a little under muscled for the pack situations, easily moved off the ball etc. but he was flexible and mobile. Id like to see him matched up with Maysie as training program to build his pone on one strength and improve his timing. Couldnt see better tutors than May, Bennie and T Mac. Would think that may be a reason behind him staying. I still think he is the future.
  8. Posted elsewhere but you do appreciate the mighty Dees have been premiers ALL YEAR!!!!!
  9. Hey The mighty Dees have been premiers all year!
  10. Can you have a polo and hoodie with wording Demonland Premier Supporters. Any image you have are appropriate. But something that is recognisable so Dlanders can recognise and acknowledge each other in the crowd. Same with caps and beanies. Colour Red with Blue print and Blue with Red print
  11. Yep there is not a lot of logic in any of the handling of the pandemic. When the PM transformed it from a health issue to an economic issue and ignored the health system solutions it just went crazy. We seem to have learnt little and are repeating the worst features of the whole debacle. Vaccinations through the state health systems that have administered influenza programs would have been a more effective measure than outsourcing to a myriad of companies and private gp's and pharmacists. Testing really proves nothing except you are what you are at that point of time. More likely to get infected as you walk past the line of people waiting or the next public venue you attend where people are unmasked. Vaccination doesn't stop spread but does limit it. We are all being inconvenienced to protect the few who are not vaccinated, coz that's still enough to overwhelm our health facilities. Build and staff a better health system.
  12. Bloody moronic premiers responsible for the actual hospitals and health systems of their states, aware of the effect of too much movement are merely following the lead of the PM who locked down our borders ( missed the Ruby Princess) and continues to restrict entry. Of course he hasn't built an effective quarantine system, nor administered an effective tracking and tracing system and his vaccine rollout just continues to display the ineptitude that this government has displayed so often and well.
  13. Congratulations . Can I suggest the tryptich be Oliver "The goal" Tracc" The Norm Smith"
  14. It's been a glorious ride. No Xmas wishes needed they've all been granted. Joy to the world of demonland.Lets continue the journey.
  15. Someone must have reported. Hope everyone ok. Especially the players who were there
  16. As predicted now Positive I'm negative. No spread to or from me from the best B&F I've attended.
  17. Im not sure who, but I'd make a few changes. 1 to counter the changes made by the opposition. Maybe different skills and structures required. 2 To show all opposition teams the depth of our squad. They will not be able to plan for a set team playing set plays. 3 To allow players to pressure each other for the repeat premiership. 4 To allow players to taper and peak with confidence.
  18. Sorry if directed at me Daisy. i did get a tad political as the frustration of isolation forced from the B&F attendance got to me. I am unable to attend a gathering tonight and those there will mock this as another reason not to barrack for Melbourne. Like me most who attended will be vaned and have no symptoms and will probably be negative. But we all get inconvenienced because this whole pandemic has been so appallingly handled by the governments, and mostly led by our PM. I'll leave it there
  19. Sorry rjaj, didn't mean to be. I did say the most vulnerable and fragile may need greater support. If we had a government which displayed any compassion that would not be a problem. If they can't be vaccinated they would be aware and taking self preservation, if they get the worst outcomes they would be a greater priority for health care than those who had not vaccinated. This is not a forum where every possible circumstance can be outlined. This is still a very sensitive issue. Suffice to say that the federal government appears to have learnt nothing. Quarantine still an issue, vaccination still an issue. Incompetence revealed at every turn.
  20. Fair point. I'm happy to apply the same conditions. i worked in health industry and decisions are made all the time to prioritise treatment and it's usually based on skills available and often ability to pay. i strongly support our universal health system but do need to get the best value of the highly skilled and valuable people and the most efficient and effective use of the resources. We can and have achieved great outcomes from our health system. Some of the problems with the pandemic were ideological where the Federal government ignores the effective hospital and health systems and chose to use drs and pharmacists as a preference. Inefficient and less effective.
  21. Had the test, lucky to live in the country with easy access. It hit me that this inefficient and inconvenient process is only occurring because there are some people without vaccination. If the vulnerable are protected with vaccination and the most fragile with additional isolation and distancing then should they get symptoms they go to hospital. initially when there was no vaccination available and confusion over the best etc it was necessary to have testing and tracking. Now with most protected only those who choose to not have vaccination who will get worst outcomes. Testing is almost useless as you can be negative at test time and go to the supermarket or chemist and pick it up. We are all constantly at risk of picking it up, unavoidable. Vaccination means I won't get too crook. Let the people who are unvaccinated get crook and take their chances at getting treated. If intensive beds are short they go to the back of the quee they have made their choice. I'm happy to take my chances with no mask and self distancing.
  22. No way I'm positive I'm negative. It was such a great night I'm sure I rebuffed any possible infection through the aura of joy that surrounded me. In truth has been enveloping me since we won, continued at the G replay and will continue until we are no longer premiers.
  23. Just got advised that may have been exposed at Crown Palladium. need to get tested and isolate until negative.
  24. There was a time when contracts were offered open ended. It was xpected you would have a job until you left, did something to get sacked or were let go with a payment to compensate for the termination. Wages were increased after analysis of success and ability to pay. There was a certainty and stability that existed. Then we had the birth of the fixed contract as employers wanted to be able to terminate without any reason and without consideration of compensations. Employees had no sense of certainty and no sense of loyalty. id be saying Simon the jobs yours as long as you want it, if we can't afford you you can leave with our best wishes and thanks, if it ain't working for us we will let you know, give plenty of notice and provide an appropriate termination payment. Part of contract can contain things like Super and long service payments that can give some stability and mitigate unexpected and unsustainable large payments. The team is the thing total payments must be shared.
